Sushi Mafia is on another level. The fish was incredibly fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. The seared tuna appetizer was tender and flavorful, and the specialty roll was loaded with texture, topped with avocado, sauce, and crunch that made every bite amazing. You can really taste the quality. The service and atmosphere made the experience even better. This place is a must visit for sushi lovers! Definitely will be back
Mafia Sushi is located in Katy China Town. It is a bit inconspicuous from the outside, a little unassuming. However, whenever you enter, you are met with a clean, well-kept restaurant with quick service and a huge menu. Parking is easy with plenty of spaces in shopping center. Upon sitting down, a server almost immediately took my drink order and then brought miso soup to the table. The menu was a bit overwhelming - THERE WERE SO MANY CHOICES! From sushi, to sashimi, to hand rolls, to warm entrees, Mafia Sushi has everything. I decided to order the cucumber salad for a starter. Side note: I always order cucumber salad when it is on the menu - this particular salad made it into my top 2 (the other is at Taizzi Sushi)! It was served with shredded imitation crab on top and pickled to perfection. 10 out of 10 would order again. My friend ordered the crab Rangoons which were fried a nice golden brown, crunch on the outside and creamy on the inside, served with sweet and sour sauce. I also ordered the Girl on the Beach sushi roll - Shrimp, avocado and shrimp salad topped with fresh tuna, masago, sesame sauce, chili oil & eel sauce. Fresh and super tasty! I left feeling satisfied. For the price, I definitely thought Mafia Sushi was well-worth the trip into Katy from Houston Med Center. Good food, good service, and a good time!
We love this gem! It's been a while since we have been here but had to stop in for Father's Day lunch today! We were promptly greeted and seated immediately. Their menu seems to have gotten an upgrade with now more selections! Their menu was great before and now even better. They provide complimentary miso soup once you are seated. We had the salmon teriyaki plate, baked salmon roll, red crunchy roll, texadelphia roll, and a New York New York roll with two sides of fried rice. Everything was SO GOOD!! Love this restaurant and they grew popular so quickly winning the second place for best Asian cuisine in Katy 2025! We love the fresh rolls, baked rolls, and entrees. They even offer a sushi boat that feeds 4-6 people and that's on my next list of items to try! We love whatever we order every time! The interior is so big and spacious. There's a connecting outdoor patio and they also have stairs that connect to a top second floor outdoor patio. I don't that is open because of this Texas heat but honestly I don't anyone is complaining. The interior is beautiful to enjoy for lunch, dinner, with family and friends or even date night. We have done it all here from date nights, birthdays, etc. Can't recommend this place enough! We love Mafia Sushi!
Amazing! That's the word for this spot. Not only do they have a gigantic menu to choose from but it's all delicious. Every single piece of sushi that came out was fresh and delicious. The service here is first class. They are very attentive and even the owner came by with a treat for my son's birthday. Highly recommend if you're out towards Katy area. Doesn't look like much outside but once you come in you'll see, the decor and everything is just right. I loved the vibe and energy of this place.
Recently visited Mafia! We were searching for a place in the Katy area that had Happy Hour and an outdoor patio and this was it. Although the patio seemed to not have been used in some time, the staff was very accommodating. We were the only group on the patio and were amazed at how attentive our service was. We had multiple members of the staff checking in on us every few minutes to ensure we did not need anything. Our food also did not disappoint. All sushi we ordered was delicious and fresh. Cannot wait to return!
Wow, this is really good. You start by sitting in comfy chairs and are served a quick bowl of miso to refresh while looking at the menu Then I ordered my safe haven, chirashi style bowl and my wife ordered some kind of super salad. Bothe meals came out in time and were amazing! I so plan to return. Maybe Saturday?
Went here as a spur of the moment decision and was surprisingly satisfied! Although the only thing we had was the sushi and sashimi assortment, our experience here earned the stars itself. All of the cuts of fish were decently sized, although my least favorite was the medium fatty tuna pieces since they had a more metallic iron-y taste in my opinion, which you would typically expect in leaner cuts of tuna, not ones that are "medium" fatty. The complimentary miso soup and kizami wasabi served on the side was a nice touch. Nevertheless, the service was outstanding and we were well taken care of. I don't usually go to that area of Katy looking for sushi but this is a nice casual spot to try out (and I hope to circle back to for a taste of their other dishes to give an updated review).
I would like to add to my original review. On January 24, we celebrated my father-in-law's 90th birthday at Mafia Sushi. There were 25 of us, several of whom traveled from the east coast. They gave us a wonderful semi-private spot close to the bar . We came in a couple of hours early to decorate the space. We couldn't have asked for more help from the owner Jimmy, his employees, Min, Leon, and the rest of his staff to make sure the celebration was perfect . That's exactly what it was. Even though the dining room was packed and people were waiting at the front entrance, the service was prompt and flawless Thank you Mafia Sushi

What a surprise. This place wasn't our first choice but instantly turned into a favorite. Loved how the menu was separated by fried, cooked, and sushi. Made it real easy to choose. Food & service was great. Give them a try. read more

There is no shortage of sushi spots in Katy but this one stands out for exceptional service, varied menu, beautiful presentations and very cool atmosphere! Was served complimentary Miso soup upon being seated - not sure if this is because it's our first time or this is done every time. Regardless, it was tasty! Ordered Kirin and their hot house Sake - large was only $8.50! We were trying to eat somewhat light (HA!) so we ordered Girl on the Beach and the Galaxy roll. The sesame sauce on Girl on the Beach was amazing - had never that that on sushi before. The Galaxy roll was good but since it was listed under the baked section, we expected it to be warmer. Still great flavors though! Plan to make our way through their menu! read more
With this being day 7 of them being open, I'm going extra easy on this review. I will most definitely come back to it in about 2-3 months. So the vibe is most definitely there with how they have everything set up! This is truly a product of a California sushi joint. Don't come in here looking for nicely priced items, you are paying for what you get. The quality tastes way better than most and the taste by itself is just fresher. Everything is obviously handmade and the food comes out at a decent speed. In all honesty, the prices threw me off a lot when I first walked in, but we ended up getting the Spicy Girl twice and a California roll with the Salmon Special. Oh and I forgot to mention that they do bring you out soup while our are pondering the menu trying to figure out what you want out of the 120ish items they serve. FYI, the menu is HUGE! I give them a 4/5 today because they are fresh and new. But like I said, I'll definitely be back! read more

When is sushi not a good idea!? After a day of shopping my mom and I decided to come here. We tried three different rolls which definitely got us full! The service was nice and it is a cute little spot! It didn't knock me off my feet, but I will definitely be back. read more

Mafia is my new favorite sushi spot in Katy! The portions are really generous, and the sushi and food are delicious! I love how the rolls are creative and unique, but executed really well. Their menu is organized into categories making it much easier to choose your specific preferences in your sushi rolls. You also get free unlimited Miso soup right when you're seated which is a nice plus. The customer service is so friendly, and the restaurant itself is huge and clean. This is a great spot if you go with family or even for just a casual dinner date night. We will for sure be back and try so much more! read more
Being from the coast am never sure about sushi in Texas...but needed a lighter meal for sure. This place was highly rated and nearby. By my standards maybe closer to four than five but...I'm not local. Loved the service. Attentive and quick! Food was good. Def better than average. Had some apps, some sushi and some noodles. I might have gone five stars but the kitchen made a mistake...twice. I asked the server to fix it the first time, and they fixed it wrong....I decided just to eat and leave the poor hard working kid alone because I knew he put it in right. Would definitely try again in town but lots of other places I want to try too. Definitely a fun hipster vibe! read more
My friends chose this spot on our little vacay and we had such an amazing experience. The pineapple and apple sake were incredible and I cannot understate the taste of the otoro. My refreshing roll was incredible and the texidelphia should be ordered fried. The 9-1-1 roll was great and the edamame was also awesome. With a Sapporo I was happy. Wonderful staff and service (although water and trays with wasabi and ginger came so late). I can't wait to go back!! read more

I'm gonna make you an offer, you can't refuse.... No, but really, this has to be the best sushi in all of Katy. My girlfriend is an LA native, and says that its better than all the sushi she's had in Cali, and I couldn't agree more. We walked in for date night at Mafia Sushi, merely because I found the name to be so appealing! Boy, was I in for a surprise, I felt like the Godfather the minute I walked in. It also helps that the décor inside is so chique and cool, and does include a dope portrait of Don Corleone, himself. Other restaurants better take notes, because the mafia knows how to do things. Ha! Really though, service here was spectacular, and our waiter was awesome. The minute we walked in, he told us to sit wherever we wanted. I slyly replied, "Anywhere?", and he was quick to say, "Anywhere except the floor, I wouldn't recommend it." HA! That humor had us sold. The restaurant was very roomy with plenty of space, we decided to go for a booth. Lucky for us, it happened to be Crime Time, better known as Happy Hour, to some of you non-gangsters. Crime Time is Monday - Friday from 3pm to 6pm. The prices are great, many options to chose from for happy hour, and the regular menu itself, is extensive! Our Mafia Waiter hooked us up with some delicious Miso Soup the minute we sat down, I guess he could tell that my girlfriend and I were some Mafia Dons as well. We ordered the Texasdelphia roll, California roll, Salmon Carpaccio, and an order of Gyozas. The deal was done, and we only waited for a few minutes, before the deliciousness reached our taste buds. We were surprised with how quickly our sushi arrived, we could see the sushi chefs working the back. They must have super powers, because our rolls came out quick, and they packed a punch of deliciousness! WOW! All rolls tasted so fresh, delicious, were good portions, and just all around yummy! I'm not done, come over here, let me tell you a little secret. That Salmon Carpaccio, listen my fellow gangsta', that was just delicious. So freaking delicious. Gyozas were awesome too, and we realized that we were having some of the best sushi around. I'm a sushi snob and so is my darling girlfriend. We've had sushi all over the country and abroad, and this mafia spot is the real deal! We were stuffed, but wanted to try one more bite of deliciousness. Our waiter came over, and was every so helpful. He was the man! Providing great service the entire time, really had me thinking we were family. He suggested we try the, "Girl on the beach" roll. It was an offer, we couldn't refuse, and I'm glad we didn't. Picture this scene: Shrimp, Avocado, Shrimp Salad, Tuna, Massago, and a mix of delicious sauces. Are you drooling yet? That roll was absolutely to die for. You better believe I'm going back to deal with the mafia and visit them many times. Two thumbs up, if you are a sushi lover, you need to come here, bring a few other mob bosses as well, and have a splendid time. You'll be thanking me later bud! read more

The servers were nice and helpful but it did take a long time to get my check at the end. The food was great. They gave everyone complimentary miso soup. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, a shrimp tempura roll, and a Japanese old fashion. Very good. The ambiance was great! And the bathroom was clean and smelled lovely. read more

Mafia Sushi is definitely the best in the Katy area. With fresh and elevated rolls you won't be disappointed. The quality of sushi is a step above the rest. Maybe even a couple steps. My goal is to try every roll on the menu. And the menu is filled with dozens of yummy choices. We had 4 different rolls. See pictures. The 4th roll was the Buzzy Roll. We weren't thrilled with it. Just compared to the other rolls. It wasn't our fav. I think we just weren't feeling the no rice that day. So if you like a Rice roll, the Buzzy roll may be for you. After we pigged out on sushi, we could not resist the banana fosters dessert. Everyone should try it. So so good! I want one now. Also their hot sake is smooth and tasted good. First time trying this restaurant out . Our waitress was very nice and made sure our waters never went empty and check on us to Make sure we were doing great . It was very clean inside and we were sat immediately. It was a Thursday at lunch time . There is definitely a lot of options to choose from and there should be something for everyone who goes there . Lots of choices of all kinds of Sushi . Food came out quickly but before that we had miso soup that was pretty tasty. Prices not bad . Big portions and lots of flavor . I will be back to try some more sushi on their menu. read more

Really welcoming staff and good service. We waited a bit for a table and ended up being sat at the bar which was actually a good time. The sushi chef who helped us out had a great personality and made quick work of our order... We started with hot sake, tried the Spicy JJ appetizer, a few rolls, and the spicy miso ramen just for fun. I would recommend all the rolls we ordered and actually would probably order them all again, but I would skip the ramen next time and try a different appetizer. Spicy JJ: great mix of textures and flavors; the sauce combo on it was awesome AND we were so excited to try it, we forgot to take a picture! Spicy Miso Ramen with Pork: the sliced pork was the best part of the bowl, but the noodles were a good consistency; flavor was very one note and not really all that spicy White Roll: lots of flavors and textures and the serving of spicy tuna served with it was generous R&B Roll: favorite roll of the day. Good flavors highlighting the freshness of the ingredients Pedro Roll: the eel and cream cheese were a nice combo Cal 911: simple combo, sesame oil was a more pronounced flavor than the habanero read more

Wow! Where do I start? Great atmosphere, awesome service and fabulous food. We got the spicy edamame for an appetizer and it was definitely spicy and so flavorful. I got the Animal Roll and I think it's my all-time favorite roll now. Hubby got various sashimi and loved his. Everything we ordered was delicious with beautiful presentation. We will definitely be going back. It's our new favorite sushi place in Katy. read more

My experience at Mafia Sushi could be defined as refreshing, relaxing, and satisfying. The customer service was A1. My dad and I were seated as soon as we walked in and what I would presume to be the owner was very friendly and made our experience very pleasant. As for the food, our food came out very quickly, and it was very delicious and fresh. I had the Mafia Queen and the American Gangster roll which were amazing. I also had the toro which was next to none in terms of how good it was. Overall, I think this place is very good and is worth a try if you haven't tried it yet. read more

Everything about this place was wonderful! Great selection, great quality and the hospitality was above and beyond. Definitely suggest giving this place a try the next time you are craving sushi, just might become your new favorite place. OMG!! Booked a Friday evening Omakasi with my son with Mafia Sushi and it was over the top, outstanding!! We are self proclaimed "Sushi Snobs" and this was the best Omakasi experience we've ever had. The owner (or manager perhaps?) is so kind and welcoming and the staff is absolutely phenomenal as well. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave it is truly a pleasant experience from the people, to the atmosphere and of course what we all look forward to the food! I've found myself returning two and sometimes even three times a week. I've come by myself, I've brought family, I've brought friends and it has become my husband's favorite spot lately as well. They have something for everyone here by having such a large menu to choose from! I brought my dad and step mom here for their first ever sushi experience (mind you they don't really like sea food) and they both loved absolutely everything that they tried. Everything is so fresh and packed with flavors but of course without being over done. They have the perfect balance of flavors, textures, colors, smell and you name it for each dish. The crab cheese wontons are the best that I think I've ever had! The tempura shrimp came out perfectly. The wagyu appetizer is such a melt in your mouth/mouthwatering experience. We had so many rolls that I lost count but they were all delicious. The Mafia Queen roll seems to be everyones favorite so far. The fried rice was truly a nice surprise. We had the chicken fried rice, it was a fairly large portion as they brought out a whole plate of it. The flavors were perfect, it wasn't overly oily, didn't leave a lingering after taste or texture and it didn't leave you feeling heavy or bloated at the end of it all. They also have Ramen and other options that I have yet to try. You could truly keep coming back for a long time without having the same thing twice if you choose. Seriously they have so many options and we genuinely enjoyed every single thing that we've tried so far. I'm looking forward to continuing to bring my family and friends for what is hopefully a long time to come. I truly couldn't recommend any other place more for such a pleasant dining experience. My husband even said he thinks this is his favorite sushi(+) spot now even over RA Sushi. read more

The food was so good. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. The owner came over and chatted after we were done. He was shocked we drive from Louisiana to go shopping and eat in Katy and Houston. He gave all the kids a drink to go as we were leaving. Will definitely be back here read more
Stopped at Mafia Sushi for lunch. They had a decent sized selection for their lunch menu. Walked in and was greeted and sat immediately. The service was so nice and our server started with complimentary soup while taking our order. We started with gyoza, and also ordered tonkatsu ramen, two rolls, and steak with steamed rice and veggies off the lunch menu. There was plenty of seating, service was great, and food was delicious and arrived nice and hot. Absolutely want to go back and try more! read more

First time here. Overall, ok experience for casual dinner. It has plenty of seating but I would say the back wall area seats are kind of too close together. Their menu is way too big but I like the idea of splitting up sections for cooked or raw rolls to make it a bit easier. They serve complimentary miso soup and in addition we got pork gyoza. My daughter liked it but for me it was too crispy. My daughter had chicken teriyaki. I didn't try but it had a good portion of chicken breast for the price paid. I had Pink Lady roll - scallops with salmon. It was fresh with generous size scallops and salmon but I didn't like that they flooded the roll with ponzu sauce. I would recommend to ask them to put the sauce on the side. Tobiko nigiri was good! Also, very generous portion. Overall, I would say it's a good place for variety around the area. I would say step up from sushi hanna. read more
