Their menu is massive! Such a wide selection of food. I got the shepherds pie and was insanely impressed with the quality and taste for this pit stop in the middle of no where during our road trip. Probably the best shepherds pie I've ever had. The side order of fries was huge and I love that they came out extra crispy, which I asked for. My brother had the ahi salad and he said it was fresh and really yummy. Interior: a bit on the dated side, but clean. It feels like an old apple bees. Service was just so so. I recently moved closer to the southbury Maggie location. On a March school night, my son and I were looking to order take out to celebrate his concert. I ordered a few items, including wings, a burger and a Thai chicken pizza - I get nostalgic when I enter a Maggie mcflys- I think I waitressed at the Middlebury restaurant for three weeks in the 90s- I wasn't good. Anyway- THIS Maggie's was delicious, the service was prompt and friendly- despite an almost empty restaurant (after nine on a school night). We will return soon. read more

This review is from a previous drop-in. while I was visiting family in the local area and decided to meet here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It is a nice-looking establishment with the interior decor and it was clean. They had plenty of tables and booths to accommodate large groups. The menu is large, so it has something for everyone! I chose to get the Thai Lettuce Wrap. When the food finally arrived, the portion was large, it was seasoned perfectly, and tasted very good. The wait staff was friendly; however, the long wait for the food to come out of the kitchen is the only thing preventing 5 stars. read more

I believe the kitchen is revived! Stopped in for dinner. Server, Manolo, was attentive and friendly. The fried chicken Bao were some of the best we have had anywhere! My husband had a Korean burger that was amazing! I had the chicken Costoletta. Sooooooo good. Fresh mashed potato. Delish asparagus and the chicken was cooked so perfectly! Yummy desserts! Friendly staff and some great food! I have eaten in their restaurant so many times and each time I swear it only gets better. They have a huge menu with a wide variety of items that is sure to accommodate any cravings. They have a full bar inside with televisions airing the sports games and plenty of booth/table style seating. They also have a brick oven pizza that in certain sections of the restaurant you could watch them make the pies fresh. Although, today I decided to order takeout with my coworkers for lunch and I was not disappointed. The quality of the food was great, they prepared our order fast, and it all tasted incredible. While they all ordered sandwiches, I ordered the cheese tortellini and added grilled chicken. The ingredients tasted fresh and the pasta was loaded with flavor. My first time at this place. Loved it a lot and the food was amazing. I ordered the Big Magg, probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I had high expectations for this place the second I stepped in. But by far most favorite thing about this place was the servers. Issac and Evan. Evan was the most chill and honest server off all. Gave him a 30 dollar tip, surely deserved it. Issac cleaned us up when we were leaving but still very nice. The vibe was very clean and good looking. Honestly the worst service. Started with the host! So rude and rolling her eyes, in a dead resturant it took her 5 minutes to even come to the door to seat us. there was 3 of us including an infant. sat us at the biggest booth possible and didn't offer us a high chair. we got our own and the buckles were broken and wouldn't secure. i ordered my kids food with the drinks because they were hungry. i ordered my food a good 15 minutes later and my food came out before there's did. lots of left overs, no boxes offered just the check dropped off and then the waiter didn't returned for another 10 minutes. everyone had an attitude and the food wasn't great. my sons popcorn chicken had a bone in it or something didn't even look like real chicken. looked like fish. definitely will not be returning to this dirty uninviting place. every other location in the area is better than this one. The restaurant was clean and the server was attentive. No fault on this review to the hard working employees. Mostly young people doing a great job. This review is about the food. I had a chicken dish with Parmesan sauce and mashed potatoes. There's no way those were real potatoes. They had to be boxed. They didn't even taste like potatoes. The food was barely edible. The chicken was coated in a sauce that was so processed- it was like eating a boxed Mac and cheese seasoning packet straight from the envelope. Salty, processed, immediate headache. And then there was a a salty white cream sauce on the top of it. The only thing I could eat on the plate was the asparagus. And I don't even like asparagus. But it was the only thing that tasted remotely like food not drenched in salt. My friend got the truffle fries and those were decent. The young people were so hard working I didn't have the heart to ask them to take it back. But I took one bite and left the rest on the table. Would not go back. read more

Have been here before. Decided to com on New Year's Eve. It was quiet but the food was great. Had spinach and artichoke dip and California chicken but the best was the drinks. 5/10/22 I've dined at a couple of Maggie McFly's Restaurants over the years and they are consistently........well, consistent. A perhaps overly large menu might be what keeps them mediocre instead of really good. Sometimes doing a smaller menu well is better than a large menu ho-hum. This visit my buddy had a beefsteak grinder with Au jus & fries that he said were "pretty good" I started with a cup of chicken rice soup that was "ok"....nothing special I ordered an off menu cheeseburger wrap with lettuce, tomato & mayo that was "good". I love a good burger, but I'm tired of them on conventional rolls, hence the wrap. If I'm the area in the future I might stop in here again, but with a plethora of dining options in this area, I might opt for any one of those instead. Service was pretty good too, in this age of post pandemic help shortage. read more

Spur of the moment double date here recently. I was surprised by the MASSIVE menu selections; which had also left me confused and wanting to try everything lol. We ordered a few apps that were brought stacked on a nice little tower. Unfortunately this was the only pic I remembered to take. I also ordered chicken tacos and they were on point, a very good menu choice. Drinks were a bit slow, eventually we received help from multiple angles such as the manager. It was apparently our servers first night, which I can't hold against her, I know how it is. She was a delight, as well as the manager. Everyone there was very kind and helpful. I came with my in laws and daughter to celebrate my niece's birthday. Despite having a less than great experience previous I chalked it up to a one off and came in with an open mind. Upon coming into the close to empty restaurant on a Monday night well before closing, my family and I stood at the front desk for a few moments waiting for any staff member to acknowledge us. This nice guy asked if we had been greeted and sat us. Our actual server was not as friendly, didn't introduce herself or even smile. She took our drink and appetizer orders. The appetizers took so long that we were beginning to think she forgot them, but when the nachos got to the table they were all burnt. My family and I ate them anyways because we were hungry. Our server came by to ask how the appetizers were, but never stopped walking. It was like a drive-by "how are things OK bye" I had to shout after her to please get me a refill. The ground meat in my Shepherds Pie was burnt as well. The only appetizing thing I had was the cup of dirt I ate for dessert. The only thing I regret was not catching the servers name so I could give the manager my complaint. I'm not looking for anything free because I dont want anything this location could offer me, but as a restaurant manager myself I'd like to know when my staff is providing this poor of service. read more

Went to Maggie's tonight and put our name in after trying to call ahead with no answer multiple times only to have the hostess take another party of two before us as we had just waited 20 minutes and they had just arrived and were seated immediately. She then lied to our faces after fumbling around stating they had a reservation which made absolutely no sense as we heard them just walk in for a table and no one answers the phone. Needless to say we will never be back especially after being lied to unbelievable. My time is as valuable as others!!! read more

So we went tonight to Maggie's tonight after not having gone in a little while. It was very disappointing. French onion silos was like sludge and tasteless. The kitchen made boneless chicken Buffalo instead of Buffalo cauliflower. Wr started to eat it. The manager came over and said they would take it off the bill. Which was good. But then she took it away. Like, we aren't allowed to eat their mistake. They were going to throw ot away anyway so why not leave it??? The drinks were good and potato skins were good. Sad to say this was the worst food I have had at a restaurant. I ordered fish & chips. The pieces of fish were hot but tasteless, sitting on a bed of cold greasy fries. The friendly waiter promptly brought a fresh order of fries, but the temp was only half the problem: the flavor was of old grease. My friend had the roast beef, but it was not to his liking either (I was embarrassed because I had suggested trying this place.) We had two entrees and water to drink; check was just shy of $50 with tip. Paid the bill and went to another place for dinner. read more

We have always enjoyed Maggie McFlys, but this location did not compare to others we have been to before. Seated right away and order taken quickly. Service was good. The food however was not. I got a French dip with truffle fries. The au jus that came with it tasted bad. The fries had too much Parmesan cheese. My son ordered the steak medillions from the kids menu and asked for medium rare. It was very well done. We sent it back and it came back medium rare, but burnt on the outside. Others in our party had burgers and they said they were good. I would not return to this location, but hopefully the others are still good. read more

When the best you can say is "you probably won't die after eating here", then you know you've made a mistake. This might be the worst lunch out I've had in a while. Maybe ever. I can't think of one that's worse. We can start with the parking lot. It was Saturday at noon and it was empty. I should have taken my cues from that to begin with. Second, this location looks like it was formerly an office building so double weird. We go in and no one is at the hostess stand and its several minutes before someone arrives. There are people in here, so we give them the benefit of the doubt and press forward. We get seated and there is a sticky sludge all over the table which seems to be a former soda that had been spilled. To go along with it, is several food bits from previous diners - perhaps berries? And of course, some crumbs. We politely just ask for it to be wiped down again. Why? Why would you stay after all these context clues? I don't know. We were tired and didn't feel like getting back in the car. From here on out the service is just interminable. We get drinks but then its years before the server (who has a grand total of 2 tables) comes back to take our order. We place an order for 1 appetizer and meals for three. We didn't order osso buco or anything that needs to braise. It was just regular stuff. And so it continues. We entered the restaurant at exactly 12:00PM. The first food hits our table at 12:45. I only know this because we said it we make it to 12:45 we're just going to leave - and it literally came out just then. Two diners lunches came out, but not mine. I had about another 3-5 minute wait for mine to come out. At this point the server said, "I'll be out with the appetizer in a minute", and I declined saying, we kind of don't want that anymore since we have our meals. The food itself tasted like microwave meals. No flavor, barely any seasoning - and from there we went for a nice long wait for the check. I'm writing this review trying to think of a time I've had a worse time out. I come to Maggie mcflys bc of the huge menu and everyone will find something that they like. I usually visit the Brookfield location and love it. The dining room at this location is loud and you can hear all the dishes and utensils being tossed around in the kitchen, and the awkward huge round booths are uncomfortable. Regular booths or tables would have been better. I came for my moms birthday party and wanted to treat her to anything she wanted and we were hungry for apps. They took a while to come out, but we were ok with that. We got the nachos and Thai lettuce cups to munch on. One second later did all our dinners come out sporadically. Frankly there was not enough room on the table for all these plates and I HATE when apps come out with dinner because what is the point? Return them at this point because now dinner is here. We let our dinners get cold and pushed them out of the way for the time being. We did all get drinks, I got the Barbie dream house fancy cocktail which did not come as described on the menu and was pretty expensive for them to lazily prepare. The manager acknowledged that, but that's all. As far as dinner, the portion sizes here are very large, I got the chicken costoletta, I only wish they had more than 4 tiny pieces of asparagus. Other people at the table got the fajitas, cauliflower pizza, salmon entree and a BLT. The food isn't the issue here but they should work on the flow out of the kitchen! Went last night after a movie. Should have known something was up because usually a Maggie's on a Saturday is a wait. Ordered wine-There we're pieces of cork floating at the top. Asked for 2 plates to share a salad. One plate was just "washed" but still had food on it. Ordered a pasta dish and asked for no bacon. The meal came after everything else because they did add bacon and the server took it back. Ordered a shrimp and chicken dish but asked for no chicken. There was more chicken in the dish than shrimp. Told the server, she spoke to the manager who then came to apologize. At the end, the waitress explained that they took 1/2 off one meal because of the mix up. 1/2 off! After all the issues, dessert could have been on them or at least take the whole meal off. Never ever had an issue at the Maggie's in Brookfield. Definitely will not be back to Southbury. We came here to get some food on the run. I have two little kids and they wanted pizza. We sat down and they took our drink order and ask if we wanted food. We were still Deciding. She came back and we ordered. We were then told items they were not doing. They should have said what they were not doing before they took any order. It took awhile for us to receive our order and wasn't asked if we wanted more drinks while the waitress passed us by a few times. As we watched 6 other staff members just laugh and giggle in a corner. There were a bunch of staff doing the right thing but avoid this place unless you are here to sit at bar. We had a good waiter, burger and tacos were good, just getting the food was slow, I asked for medium well burger came out medium rare they didn't have the dessert I want but all in all it was ok. Stopped in for lunch On a drive down I-84. Decided to sit at the bar. My first impression was in the restroom where there was no lock on the stall door. Our server/bartender was very sweet but we ordered 2 beers and nachos and it took about 30 minutes for the nachos to come out. They were chips and cheese melted on top. Nothing fancy, nothing special! It should not take that long for an app to show up and the restaurant was not crowded. Things were dirty, like the happy hour info in plexiglass didn't look like it was ever cleaned. Overall impression left us saying this is not a stop we'll make again. read more

Wow... second horrible experience here. Sat at the bar for an hour and half after ordering. Watching people come, sit, eat, & leave. Can't get the 2 bartenders attention much. Noticed the receipt had the wrong order on it & brought it to their attention. Obviously forgot to place our order bc shortly after she said it'll come soon. Didn't have that amount of time to eat on a busy day off so we left. Dirty dishes sitting on most of the tables & a lot of annoyed faces around the restaurant waiting for food. I went there for lunch with my wife. We spent most of the time waiting for our waitress. Our table was dirty and we had to ask to have it wiped off. Empty water glasses were never filled up. My wife ordered a beer then waited for our waitress for about 20 minutes after the beer was finished before she came around to ask if we needed anything. I ordered the paella and had to return it because it was disgusting! This was easily the worst seafood paella I ever had! It was literally some chopped up peppers with some corn and white rice with tomato sauce and seafood. I will not go to this Maggie's ever again! read more
