I felt pressured to take a settlement that I thought was far below what I was due, so I terminated my agreement. But shortly thereafter I received a letter from them informing that they had placed a lien with the insurance company on any settlement I might make. The remarkable thing about this is their lien is twice as much as the amount the attorney tried to get me to settle for. Almost twice as MUCH!!! WOW!!! Don't get fooled by clever advertisement!!! I would not recommend this law firm based on my experience. Communication was essentially nonexistent. When my husband's case reached the appeals stage, they suddenly claimed there was a "disagreement" (when there wasn't) and withdrew from representation just one week before my scheduled court date. This was for a minor disorderly conduct charge, yet their handling of it was careless and unprofessional. After quitting, they refused to provide updates or turn over important documents they were obligated to release. On top of this, I will caution other women: in my personal experience, Matt was extremely egotistical and spoke to me in a condescending, disrespectful manner. The way he addressed me was unprofessional and demeaning. If you value communication, professionalism, and respect, I would strongly advise seeking representation elsewhere.
