I visited this place with a friend and really liked it a lot!!! The place is really clean and nice since its new. There's also a bookshelf full of board games where you are free to use and play with your friends. We ordered the Fruit Tea Madness and Cha-watermelon. Both were really good! I especially really enjoyed the fruit tea. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and the added jellies made it even better! We came here after eating so wasn't hungry but there's also a snack food menu too. Will try some the next time I go. We enjoyed our drinks as we played a game of battlefield :D. When i complained about it the girl was so disrespectful talking about can you take out the straw? Props to this businesses coming up with new flavors and putting a twist on their drinks but they're items aren't worth the price sold for. They seem to always be changing the prices. Went here today and my drink wasn't even filled to the top and when I asked why the lady said it'd be an extra .49 cents which I find ridiculous because what's the point of paying the set price for the drink if there's some missing? Aside from that they're reward program just changed and when I tried to redeem my free drink the lady told me it was applied to the cheapest drink now. When it use to be worth up to 5 dollars and applied to the drink worth the most. I've tried a fair share of tapioca places and this place just doesn't do it for me anymore, there's other great alternatives down the street of Bellaire with better prices and quality. read more

I love love love the fruit teas here. I can drink one everyday! The drinks here are definitely more unique then most tapioca places because they have a bigger variety of fruit teas and Mexican inspired drinks like cha mango or cha strawberry. If you like Mexican candy then this is just an amazing add on to your drinks because they give you candy straw wrapped with Mexican candy! My friend and I came here and we each got a straw to go onto of the straw that already comes with your drinks! YUMMO! My favorite drink to get right now is the Fruit Tea Madness. It has chunks of fruit mixed in with different flavored jelly's. Super delicious and refreshing. This is my go to drink in this Houston heat. When it comes to the food, it is a different story. My friend I tried the garlic chicken wings and it ended up tasting like burnt sauce over the chicken. It was black and not very appetizing. We ended up throwing most of it away because we couldn't get past the taste. The kimchi fries were ok but it tasted a bit bland. First let me start off by saying this place makes the best healthy and FRESH drinks and smoothies in Houston. Every time I visit here I get nothing but the best. The reason I'm not giving a 5 stars review is because of the lack of kindness in its employees with PAYING customers, which is what drives a business to stay open! Instead of using the drive thru, which I now regret, I opted in going inside to place my order. Well, for starters I was surprised with the amount of staff working they would be busier. Wrong. A few cars in the drive thru line, but dine in wasn't an option. I can understand their reasoning and I respect that. However, with business slow you would think they could amp up their friendliness a bit, but that wasn't the case. The greeter behind the plexiglass was rude and cold. She said some of their drink making policies changed because of Covid-19. Understood. What I don't understand is if I'm the paying customer and I am requesting or asking for something why does it turn into a list of excuses or being told we don't do that here when I'd been there plenty of times in the past and never told I couldn't get what I asked for. I simply asked for a smoothie with fresh fruit topping and was told they cannot make that anymore because the lid isn't sealed. When I asked about ordering another drink I was told they ran out of Boba tapioca and there was at least a 20 minute wait for it...Really on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm? The associate said they had a rush of people and ran out. I ordered the drink anyway as is with NO boba and was offered nothing in return. I ended up waiting that 20 minutes and finally got what I paid for. Let's just say this experience could have been A LOT better if employees had been nicer and friendlier. A nice new boba place to hang out. They have a slightly different menu compare to your regular boba places. The drinks are not bad. I got the macha greentea blend and I was very good. Also tried the mango cha (mangonadas at a Mexican place) not enough mango, too much ice. I like this drink so I wish they can make it a little better. I just had to put in my 2 cents. Lol. FRUIT TEA MADNESS- it's pretty refreshing, but a bit too sweet, I'd still prefer Juice Box's fruit tea. THAI GREEN TEA- super sweet even AFTER I've asked them to put more tea. The one at Phi's is perfect. This one is like sugar. CHA-MANGO - tastes good. But needs more spice in it. Only been here a couple of times but I would say it's not exactly my favorite tapioca place. With so much variety nearby I was hoping to have more flavor in the drinks. I found the wintermelon tea rather bland but the chamango was definitely a winner in my book. I guess I'm more of a sweet drink person as a lot of people seem to think the flavor here is pretty good. Haven't tried the food but it looks good in pictures. I think the venue itself is very modern and nice and they let you check out board games for free. Magic Cup is a standalone renovated shop in front of a plaza that has seen better days. Magic cup isn't your typical boba drink shop you frequently see along bellaire, but it takes the idea and puts it own contemporary spin to it. Walking into magic cup, you're reminded that this shop use to be a fast food joint of some kind, but you'll notice immediately the decor of the place has been upgraded to nice slick tables, chairs and TV's showing their menu. Its decently clean inside. I ordered a cha-mango and a korean fries. First thing i noticed was how overpriced these items were. With these two orders, it came out to be $13 dollars. The cha-mango was close to $6 when you can go down the street to Boba zone and get a similar product for $4.50, I also feel the cha-mango did not taste as good as Boba zones. The korean fries were fantastic to the palate, but not so friendly on the wallet as it was close to $6 as well. Overall, my experience at Magic Cup was an average one at best. While the place is brand new, the facility will be sparkling clean, but give time, these things will show its age. Menu wise, Magic Cup offers decent quality product, but there are better options elsewhere for a better price. read more

Their boba is consistently chewy and soft (unlike some places where it's sometimes hard or clumped together). I'm glad Magic Cup is located slightly further than the main Chinatown area. This place usually isn't too crowded (sometimes there's a short wait but it's not bad). And it's definitely easier to park here since they're located separately from other shops in the strip. I tried the nuoc mat here and fell in love with it and it's now my go to order. It is wintermelon artichoke iced tea with agar jelly, chia seeds, and grass jelly. It's very light and refreshing and I like the agar jelly that comes with it. The Vietnamese iced coffee is good here too. It's strong and not overly sweet. The only food I've tried here is the pho-nomenal dip and I gotta say...it was phenomenal! There are so many food and drink options here so you're bound to find something you like! Magic cup serves your typical tap house favorites like popcorn chicken and squid balls, but they also have kimchi fries (that you can add bacon and/or a fried egg to), calamari, wings, and banh mi! My favorite drinks to get here are the fruit teas! They are SO refreshing! And I think Magic Cup is one of the only places that chops up their fruit small enough to drink through the straws lol. I also really like the artichoke drink - I know, sounds weird drinking a vegetable but it's sweetened and they add winter melon tea in it which is a nice twist. The location is a little out of the way of the hub of Chinatown but it's a nice, bright place to study and hang out (they offer board games for their costumers)! read more

I'm super disappointed today. I literally go to this place at least once a week and each time getting at least 3-4 of their nuoc sam and kim chi fries. Today I got in a long line ordering at the drive thru. I ordered 3 nuoc sâm as usual and 1 frappe. As I got to the window, the guy handed me one cup at a time and couldn't even put all those cups into a cup holder for me. Than as I roll away from the window, I was putting the last cup into my car's cup holder spots and one of the cup cracked opened from top to bottom. I pulled right over next to the window and tried to clean up the mess as it's dripping and slowly pouring all over my car. Then I had no choice but to drive around the store and get back into line after 8 cars just to get another cup or something to put over to hold the dripping. When I finally got to the window again, I told the guy the cup cracked and showed it to him on both side of the cup. He was liked "it cracked??!! I'm sorry". Then he said "you want me to put a cup over it?" I just responded: "however works". At this point there are only half cup full with mainly ice and the sinkers in there. Yet the store and the service is so horrible that can't even replace another cup for the customer or at least pour it out into a new cup bc now it's dripping the rest into this cup making it even harder to drink whatever else is left. Ah Magic Cup. I used to get the cha mango drinks here all the time back in Dallas. When I came moved back to Houston, I saw that there was one here too. Stopping by, this place was pretty crowded. The place was nice. There were tons of games that you could play while snacking and sipping on some boba. The menu was expansive with plenty of different types of teas, smoothies, juices, and shakes to choose from. I got the usual, the cha mango which was still good. Reminds me of my days back in Richardson. Overall, this place is pretty good. Updated Covid-era review! After recently moving into the area I've found myself going to Magic Cup as my boba store of choice. I normally don't update my reviews unless my viewpoint of the place changes or it's been a good while, however, I felt the urge to bump up my initial 4 star rating. My most recent visit I wanted to redeem my free birthday drink(which btw totally sign up for their rewards with your phone # I highly recommend it). As they were about an hour away from closing and I didn't want to the *THAT* customer so I went ahead and called in my order letting them know I was about a 20 minute drive away. Quick, easy, effortless interaction. By the time I got there it was about 10:40 and there were a couple cars already in the drive thru(also SCORE! They have a freaking drive thru!!). I got to the window and while redeeming my free birthday drink, my roommate in the driver's seat jokingly made a comment about how my watermelon slushy was all melted at this point. I commented that I was totally okay with that and that I love watermelon juice! After finishing payment I guess the girl in the drive thru overheard my roommate's comment and apologized profusely and said they would remake it right away. She was super sweet about it and seemed genuinely apologetic. We told her it was totally okay but she still insisted they remake it. To be honest, the drink wasn't even that melted! Honestly I feel like that alone was truly going above and beyond. There were cars in line behind us and they were a good 10 minutes from closing but the attention and care she gave us for a FREE drink blew me away. Honestly if the quality of service isn't already good enough the drinks are amazing as well. Boba is consistently soft, chewy, and sweet. They use actual fruit for a lot of their drinks.(PS don't leave your watermelon slushy on your bedside table overnight and try to drink it in the morning) All the workers were wearing masks, gloves, and only the drive thru/takeout was open. I don't know what else you could want? I will admit the prices may be a little more steeper than other boba spots in the area, but you're honestly paying for quality here. Being a grand opening, I don't want to be bias and automatically say this is a great place but so far so good. You walk into a modern designed dining area with simple kitchen and was greeted by some friendly smiling faces. The menu boards were filled with lots of bright and colorful frozen concoctions. I wanted to try them all. Also noticed that they have some snacks to order like fries. For now, we just tried their drinks. I usually order the taro coconut smoothie when I have a thirst for boba, and magic cup didn't let me down on their version of this drink. The consistency of the smoothie was perfect, and you can definitely taste the taro and coconut. Some places claim to have taro and coconut but their taro over powers the coconut. Not here at magic cup, it was blended perfect. I was also able to enjoy a dragon/lion dance which brought good luck to the new establishment. And kids were able to get their faces painted. My favorite bubble tea and tea house in Chinatown area. Their taro milk tea, Thai milk tea, and Vietnamese coffee are the best. I like their coffee jelly too as the topping. Tried this spot because I kept seeing pictures on snapchat of my friends during grand opening. Tried their Cha Mango (not pictures) and Kiwi Green (one of their Special-teas). The fruit was very fresh and the tea wasn't diluted like other places. The Cha Mango was really good and had a good amount of spice in it. The overall place was very bright and modern with white tables, woody walls and comfy chairs. I believe they do have games for you to borrow to play while chilling with friends.
