Performed a procedure on my husband without our authorization or a pre authorization from our Insurance company, and then billed us for it. When we pushed back on the charge, he kicked BOTH OF US out of Paradigm Health System immediately, which was a terrible ordeal since we both require constant ongoing care with medications and ablations, and my husband saw two orthopedic surgeons there as well. We lost ALL OF THEM. To make matters worse, they held our medical records and MRI images hostage for three weeks, making it impossible to get a new provider. And he NEVER would write a referral for a new provider. This has been the worst experience of our lives, and for anyone with chronic debilitating pain, you know what I mean.

As the Suboxone became popular he got greedy and just saw dollar signs. You're addicted to Red Bull's? Suboxone. You can't quit smoking? Suboxone! The cure-all miracle drug. More importantly, after talking to many Rehab doctors I learned what I suspected: the Doctors are prescribing it completely wrongw and getting the patients they're "helping" addicted to Suboxone worse than whatever they were on before. As one Dr. said "these Doctors and clinics are spreading the problem and it's all about money and it really pisses me off..." A friend and I relayed our experiences with Chawla to him and he said basically it's that kind of "treatment" plan(s) & activity that created another addiction. I got off the Suboxone after dealing with many of the scary side effects every person I know that was on it had: suicidal th thoughts, can't get off it no matter how hard you try, etc...but Chawla just keeps on writing it and doesn't even look at you when you voice your concerns. Too busy getting ready for the next patient and smiling as a cash register "Cha-Ching" noise is ringing in his head. And he talks about how much the DEA loves him. He slept 20-22 hours a day. Got up to use the bathroom and grab a bite, then zonked out again. No energy. He had congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy and cardiomegaly. He was only in his 40's! He lived with me and I felt like he was a dead man walking. I asked Dr. Christy if she could see him. That was about 8 years ago. He still has those conditions and he's diabetic now, but she turned his life around. First a lot of tests, then med changes. He actually has a life now. He can drive, go to the grocery, the movies, take vacation with us. He was really given a new lease on life. It's like you have high BP and the doctor gives you BP pills. You also have kidney issues, so more pills for that. However, Dr. Christy wanted to determine if his pressure was high because his kidneys were failing or were his kidneys failing because his pressure was high. I'd say it was maybe 5 or 6 months of tests and medication tweaks and changes and he started being able to live again. She absolutely rocks. I would say I'm her number one fan, but I know too many people that claim they are her number one fan. She's just a good, old-fashioned common sense doctor.
