Never had a reading from here but I want one next time I'm in Salem. My review today is for items my husband purchased from Magika over the last year or two. These items include different crystals or rocks herbs and salts, I have used all these items and they have brought good fortune to my home and business. The most beautiful of the things my husband bought from Magika are the unique bottles decorated by a very talented artist, sorry I can't remember her name, but she is wonderful to work with. We have a total of three bottles (need more!) two of which were custom ordered with the help of I believe Lori, who helped my husband reach the artist to get our custom order. Salem is a fun place to visit, make sure that you stop by this store, the staff has always been really good to us. read more

I was so looking forward to meeting Lori and having my appointment - I had high hopes because my cousin had a really interesting reading that had some very spot-on things. Lori was very responsive to my phone calls and a neat person. My meeting with her though, was primarily a bunch of names - "who's this... who's that..." - some familiar and others not; a lot of "everybody in the spirit world is happy - they see good for you" type comments... There just weren't enough specifics or spot-on comments to make me feel like this was authentic and real. Several times I was told: stop worrying, good things are coming to you, the people in the spirit world are happy/see good things for you, and, you're going to meet a nice man - kind, generous. That was the bulk of my 30 minutes. Then some of the answers to my questions were so general - and applicable to just about anybody. To be fair, some of what Lori told me is supposed to happen - so if they happen, I'll be back to change my rating! I'm glad so many have had a great reading with her and love her - I really wanted to experience that but it just wasn't there - not that day anyway - and I was kind of sad it wasn't all I'd hoped it would be. read more

Worst reading I've ever had My friend and I were very excited to get a reading at Magika. It was her first visit to Salem and we wanted a really good reading. We had researched on online, and Magika got the best reviews over all. When we first arrived in the city, we went right to Magika, excited about our readings. We were disappointed that Lori wasn't there or at least Richard, who we'd read about. But we figured if the other psychic there was approved by them, she must be good based on their excellent reputation. After paying $75 each, I sat down first with the reader, Mary. I knew I was in trouble immediately when the first thing she did was ask me what my zodiac sign was. I've seen a lot of psychics and they have never asked me that. I was hesitant to tell her because I knew she could get a ton of info from that. She preceded to tell me basic traits about my sign that I could get from any astrology book or online profile. Then she tried to look at my ring finger (I have a silver band but it is not a wedding ring) and asked me if I was married! Then she told me I was going to meet someone (after I told her I wasn't married, of course). I asked if she had an idea when and she said vaguely said she saw the number 6. At this point I knew I was getting a cold reading and I had just wasted $75 that I really didn't have. She asked me if I had any questions. I asked her about my ex boyfriend that passed away and she said he was standing right next to me, which made me wonder why she didn't you tell me that BEFORE I mentioned him? She asked me his name and I told her. His name is very Italian sounding, so she immediately exclaimed that he was Italian. I told her he wasn't and she mumbled something about getting Spanish and Italian mixed up. I didn't bother asking any more questions. She kept looking at the timer anyway. After the reading was over, she said she wanted to give me a gift. I thought that was sweet until she gave my friend the same gift after her reading, which was almost identical to mine. I think for the rate I paid I deserved a much better reading. I definitely would not recommend Magika to friends, unfortunately, which is too bad because I was really excited to go there. read more

After reading the many reviews, I made an appointment and received a one-hour reading from Richard. The space is a bit messy and disorganized and spread with statues and costumes. I was greeted and paid before the reading started. I have had many readings and give this a 5 out of 10 as far as readings go. He told me about a couple of friends that would be important to me, a dog groomer and a person from the Hyatt... very strange reading. He wrote things on a piece of paper but none of the reading really made any sense. Save your time and money. read more

Ive had about three readings here with Richard over the last couple years. He predicted last year my current apartment, what it looks like, the location in description before we had even moved there or knew we were moving. If I could give more stars, then I would. I have been going to Lori Bruno for readings for several years, and I love her. She has such amazing energy around her and is so good at what she does. In all of my readings she always gives me specific dates, names, events, and characteristics. And yes, they do come true or I do know what she is talking about. I have a lot of stories about her naming people in my family who have passed, telling me specific dates regarding work events, and telling me about certain things coming. She doesn't ask for any information, but will just say "Who is Lisa and what is her relation to your mother?" (Well, Lisa is a woman I work with and I refer to her as my Work Mother). In the most recent reading, she gave me a specific date for something to do with my work. I told a few coworkers about it who knew about the reading, and what do you know...what she said would happen happened on the specific date. Actually, after it happened two of my coworkers went to book readings with her. She really is just a wonderful woman to be around. She puts you at ease the moment you meet her and will have you laughing in seconds. I have had a lot of friends go to her and all of them come back gushing over their readings. It is important to note that she does book up fast, especially during October. Make sure you try and book out early. She can sometimes be hard to get on the phone during the day, since she does readings. She is really good at calling and confirming appointment if you leave a message. I am hoping this review is taken as feedback that was written without malice or ill-intent, but I had a less than stellar reading with Lori. Is she nice? Absolutely. Does she care? I believe so. But my psychic reading felt rushed, distracted and forced. She was distracted by other people coming in and out and even interrupted the reading to talk to someone. People came over to my table and interrupted me to talk to Lori during my reading!! This was completely unusual and shocking to me! She randomly said names that meant nothing to me. When I asked her my question she just told me not to worry and I would be fine. Then cards kept getting shuffled and flipped and she'd point at things and say, "see, all is good." I felt duped and silly and sad. Especially because she gave me a contact date that came and went. I ended up paying her $80 for 18 minutes. Oh and the front desk person bordered on rude. I had never been to this place before and my welcome was less than welcoming. I was excited by all the amazing experiences people shared about their insightful readings. After reading the reviews I decided to give this place a shot. My friend and I went in for a 15 minute tarot card reading. It was pricey ($40 each) with richard. The reading only addressed the future and felt very scripted. He was not accurate and did not provide anything about the present or past. When I talked about it after my friends reading, he pretty much said the same lines with different details to both of us. I had met Lori back in 2011 when my father first passed away. From the moment I sat down I felt intense positivity and love radiating from her. I booked a reading in August 2018 for a date in mid November for my college aged daughter. We gave it to her as a bday gift and she was so excited. She read up on Lori in the meantime. We live 2 hours from Salem, it is hard for us to get there. We arrived hours early and Lori called to say there was a plumbing problem, could we reschedule for the next day at noon. Ok. The next morning at 10 am, she called again and said she was double booked, could we come at 3. We could not, we had to hit the road before that. My daughter was CRUSHED. We booked so far ahead. Um. Weird as hell. Not the shop itself, but my psychic reading. I had a 15 minute session with Richard, and it was unbelievable. He knew exact names, dates, and places that were significant to me, and was super insightful about my current situation. I was a walk-in (I didn't want to make an appointment because I've always had this idea that psychics look you up on Google or something if you called ahead of time), and right when I walked in the door, Richard mentioned that 'Colorado' is a huge presence in me. My friends and I love Salem for the waterfront, history, dining options and shops. I have been fortunate to have always received good service and warm welcomes in the restaurants we've dined, and the many shops we have visited. The shop I am most fond of is Magika. From the moment I first walked in, I was swept up by the serene energy of the store. I was greeted promptly with, "Welcome to Magika" and immediately felt at home. There is truly a magnetism towards Salem, perhaps a calling from another realm, and there is truly something magical about Lori Bruno, the owner. A reading with Ms. Bruno provides not only answers to what may be on your mind, the conversation encourages you to question, "how can I be a stronger version of myself?" There are many talented readers throughout Salem, and the Internet, etc for that matter, and so many do provide sincere guidance, and assist us through difficult times. But what then? What's next? How does one handle the next crisis? For me personally, with the exception of my private faith, this is where Ms. Bruno is unsurpassed. Lori can reach your core, provide insight, and elevate your thoughts and heart. She does this so you are stronger in your stride, as you exit her space. On a recent visit to Salem, I was directed to the shop's new location on Federal Street, and new expansion of her Chapel. The new location is in the Historic District, which is much quieter than the waterfront. It is a different feeling to walk those old cobblestone paths to her door. No doubt, there is an energy present guiding your steps. My day in Salem was enjoyable, and as always spiritual. I purchased herbs from my favorite botanical store, sipped on a latte as I window-shopped the waterfront, and enjoyed dinner at The Hawthorne. Parking on Federal Street was easy, and I loved walking under the large, aged trees. My time at Magika was well spent as always; what I most benefit from is the diversity. I love the access to religions, books of interest, and the fine selection of gifts. I always leave with something good! While I have never had a reading with Richard, I must add that he has been extremely helpful as I browse through items, explaining how they are used and their benefits. Guidance come in many ways :) I sense a shift from the waterfront location to this location; It could be (me) internal, but I do feel something special is unfolding. I felt inclined to say a few words today, as we are all here to help each other. I rarely write reviews, but I hope sharing my experience will help someone looking for guidance, a good book, or a Chapel for peace. After reading so many wonderful reviews, I was very excited about visiting Magika. Lori was not available so I was booked with Richard. I arrived on time for my 15 min. reading. The receptionist took my name and asked me to wait in a visitors' room. I waited 20 min and finally had to leave because I had another appointment later. When I explained this to the receptionist, she acted like she'd never seen me before and asked if anyone had checked me in. "Yes, you did," I told her. Apparently Richard hadn't been told I was there--he was working with flowers. Seriously, what sort of psychic doesn't realize someone has been waiting to see them for 20 minutes? While visiting Salem's Pickering Wharf, I stepped inside the beautiful and magickal world of MAGIKA!. What an amazing shop this is, and it has everything you need to craft your most powerful spells. Several of my friends were able to get readings with Lori during the weekend we visited and they were blown away by her accuracy and her helpful advice. When visiting Salem this is definitely the lady you want a reading with!! We were traveling in group of 8 ladies and Lori tried to fit as many in for readings as possible which was greatly appreciated. She sent each of us a beautiful Rose quartz. What a lovely gift! I walked into this store and this phenomenal psychic asked me if my name was Preeya. Definitely not a lucky guess seeing how unusual my name is. Ms. Lori Bruno was also phenomenal. I was super excited to be in Salem, finally after many years of wanting to go and never having the chance. A friend and I decided to take a road trip for the day and enjoy a nice day in Salem and get a reading, which I had never done before and was very interested in getting one. We arrived and immediately went to Magika since we had seen some great reviews on Lori. Unfortunately Lori was not available but were met with Mary, whom ended up giving us our reading. As I was sitting down she asked me my zodiac sign. I was extremely puzzled as to why a psychic would ask this. It became very clear very quickly that she was no psychic at all. Everything she spoke about was very vague and generic. She just kept repeating herself, saying I was going to see more positive things coming my way. That I need to not be around negativity, etc. She looked at the timer every few minutes, which made me feel like she really wasn't interested in giving a reading but she was very interested in getting my $75 straight away. After my reading my friend and I compared a few notes that was the exact same things she said to both of us. I was shocked that this place would allow such a thing to happen. Lori having such great reviews, you would think she would have other great psychics at her shop. I am very displeased as was my friend. I cannot rate the actual reading because my friend and I were not able to get one, but I do want to mention the experience of trying to get one. My friend I were in Salem for the day. It was 90 out and hot. But we walked all day (11 hours) going everywhere since we were from NJ and this was the only day to go. We were determined to have a reading since my friend never had one. Someone gave us this place. We literally walked over 45 mins from where we were to get to this place. We were hot, tired and sweaty. We walked in and who appeared to be Lori was giving a reading at the front window. We quietly went in and a woman and a younger girl were standing up front. My friend and I waited while a gentleman (assuming he is Richard) wearing a suit and a diamond earring (funny, no offense but he reminded us of Uncle Arthur from old Bewitched) was sitting at the counter on and off a computer. He never ONCE acknowledged us and totally ignored us. We waited quite a few mins. & when we realized the the 2 women up front were with the woman who was in the middle of the reading, we sat down in the folding chairs at the counter. Then we waited a few more mins. (waited almost 15 mins until i decided to say something) and a woman walked in who went up to the counter and the gentleman acknowledge her!!!! What were we ghosts?? She told him she had a 3pm appt. and saw we were ahead of her. He said, "Oh no no, you are first and you have an appt." HE DIDNT EVEN ASK US ANYTHING!!! So very upset I said, "excuse me" TWICE to him and then got up, stood at the counter and said, "excuse me" and he answered me at first without even taking his eyes off the computer then looked at me. I told him we didnt have an appt and was hoping to get a reading. He asked if we could come back the next day (and he spoke to me as I was a homeless person who couldnt afford to be there--but in reality i was willing to pay anything). He then said we could see him at the $40 rate but I declined not only because he said it like he had nothing else to do, but its cash only and I had my Visa with me. Plus we werent happy being ignored and treated as if we were pond scum that walked through the door. We left. Then went to "Hex" and not only paid with a credit card, but they squeezed us in right away and gave us both an awesome reading. read more

I have had one reading with Lori which she did for me for free as a gift which was incredibly kind of her even though I had only met her once at that point. I did not know what to expect but I was completely blown away by Lori's clarity, insight and advice.
