Some lovely things happen here in the South. And this…read moreSinging of the Unsung has to be directed at a whole squad of people... I was driving a neighbor to band practice in Ocean Springs, when he told me the coolest story about D'Iberville High (he attends Ocean Springs HS). Backstory: There is a boy named Jaxon, who attends Kindergarten at an Ocean Springs MS elementary school. He's been diagnosed with a tumor. The town is rallying around him, complete with a "Homeruns for Jaxon" drive that you'll see signs for at places like the hospital. At a recent Ocean Springs High School home football game against cross-town rivals D'Iberville High School, something pretty neat happened. The D'Iberville cheerleaders gathered and, during the game, marched around the track, built themselves into a two-cheerleader high formation, and unfurled a huge banner that said "DHS is praying for Jaxon." Wow.

Wow, D'Iberville High. It is truly a one-of-a-kind place to redeem academics and learn more about…read moreyourself that any other high school on the Gulf Coast, speaking for students. While its campus maintains its fairly proficient physical status as it should under county-owned diligance, its interior exceeds phenomena in all forms of unique attributes. And when I say interior, I mean all aspects of high school activity that is accounted for when it comes to campus energy. The staff is mostly welcoming and careful- even if they don't fit your expectations, you'll get used to them if you get to know them well enough. On balancing hands, if the students at DHS were to be polled for characteristic traits compared to most schools down in the south here, they would most likely be dubbed "most egotistical". This IS NOT an unfortunate insight into the school's social atmosphere, rather an honest bug I would not feel comfortable caging in from viewers. I am being as honest as I can be. On the the other hand of the balance, their egos are one of the central backbones to the school's driven pride rate. To support this claim, DHS's student section during football games is acclaimed as one of the most prominent traditions. This stands out from most high schools in comparison to the whole state of Mississippi! The school's extracurricular activity is also a buzz. The football team's annual variation in quality marks the school as perhaps more supportive of the team in general. The soccer team, baseball team, cross country team, track team, basketball team, tennis team, golf team, swim team, archery team, and many other teams are also very influential in the high school's general atmosphere in relation to the students enrolled there. While all these quality's urge students and staff to maintain their best during the year, the academic status is also exceedingly advanced. I hope this review helps you and all of your relations I hope you have with this school in the future. After all, I am a student here. Ever since I've been drastically accustomed to the era of times at DHS since my arrival, I can most definitely say this place plays a huge part in my erratic developmental status as a teenager. D'Iberville High School's pivotal prospect for me is yet to happen. Yet, I may be experiencing this change almost everyday as I walk through its yellow-brick and tile hallways.
