Main Street St.Charles for the win! This patio is top notch! Over 90 degrees today but didn't feel it a bit with all the shade! The girls working the patio were friendly and hard working! We had the large house salad and shared it. So big and a delicious house Italian dressing you could drink! Sandwiches were big and delicious too!

Very cute! Loved the brick aesthetic and the outdoor seating was gorgeous, I'm glad we sat outside as the inside had a little bit of a weird smell. Server was attentive, he even lit the gas fireplace outside for us! Drinks were delicious, and the food was quick and warm!

Not only do they have great soup and sandwiches, but they're very accommodating to all My husband two years ago on St. Patrick's Day proposed to me and to this day the staff members and asked how we are doing If you enjoy taking your well-behaved dog with you to lunch on a leash they're welcome our four-legged friends. I give this place nothing but high praises

Such a lovely dinner! Got to sit outside and they turned the fire pit on for us! Server was nice and answered any questions. Ordered the potato soup, house beef sandwich, and a hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps. All very yummy!

1/2 chicken ranch sandwich with 1/2 spinach mango salad with strawberry lemonade

I love the cute little patio they have here. They had some nice plants and fans going, so it wasn't too hot for the summer heat. For lunch, I ordered the half sandwich half salad combo with a strawberry lemonade. For the sandwich, I ordered the chicken ranch. The chicken was moist, and the bacon was cooked to perfection (super crispy without any chewy spots). The bread was soft and tasted homemade. The overall flavor of the sandwich was a bit plain, so I asked for a side of the buffalo sauce to dunk the sandwich into and then it was perfect. Next time I might ask to add lettuce, tomato, and onion as well. For the salad, I ordered the summer special mango salad with spinach, mangoes, almonds, onions, and a poppy seed dressing. Salad was fresh and really tasty, but way too much dressing. At the end, I literally had a pool of dressing left in the bowl. The strawberry lemonade here is really something to write home about. It is fresh and made with real fruit. Very tasty! We will be back.

Surprisingly not too hot on the patio with it being 90+deg outside. Several fans and lots of shade. I got the turkey gouda sandwich with chicken gumbo. Both were OK but nothing special. Good enough to eat again.

Magpie's Cafe is a cozy little spot in St. Charles. It's in a great locations nearby old shops with a huge outdoor patio seating area. I ordered the half and half with the baked potato soup and the Chicken Ranch sandwich which was delicious and just the right amount for lunch. The soup is a must try! Next time I'll order a big bowl of it.

1st time here and wasn't to impressed with the overall visit . The patio area isn't the largest and they try to get as many tables in as possible so it's a little crowded and somewhat loud.We waited above 10 minutes after being seated before our waitress came over for our food and drink orders. Drinks came quickly but it took 40 minutes for our salads and French dip and chicken sandwich. Spinach salad was nice and refreshing and the honey chicken sandwich was good . I wish this place the best of luck in business they just need to work on serving times because the menu items aren't to complicated.

We were looking for a nice patio near our parking spot so selected this quaint restaurant. Their menu is perfect for lunch. The service was friendly and even gave us some drinks that were mistakenly made which was bloody Mary's. I could tell jt was in-house made mix and very yummy. They have nice salad options and the sandwiches were plentiful. I had a French dip and would ask for cheese next time, and some condiments on top of the au jus. Three stars for food. Server was really friendly and food came promptly.

He made sure we were well taken care of the whole time. Despite this being in essentially a rich persons strip mall the ambience inside was wonderful. Beautiful decor, wonderful atmosphere. The food was very very good. Love farm to table and this place delivers that with elegance. I highly recommend this place for a nice night out. The prices reflect the quality you get. The 38$ pork chop I ordered was excellent and a lot of food! They handled a group of 12 very well. And from experience I know not a lot of places can pull it off but this place did with grace. Highly recommend.

I was looking to "book" a private dining room in a restaurant that I thought might be good. I called Prasino's, but couldn't speak with anyone because their Customer Service is geared to choosing numbers on my phone keypad. Okay, I followed the rules-- left my name and contact information and sat back to wait for a call. It has now been over 48 hours and there has been no call; no message. I've now booked with another local restaurant. A place that has humans who will speak with a person when he or she calls. I suppose they must have all the business they need? Mu business would have only provided between 5 and $10,000 but hey-- I guess that's not worth returning a call. In any case, I don't recommend Prasino's. I suppose they just don't care.

Our server was great, she was friendly and efficient. They have some unique offerings, and I have been eyeing the chicken and waffles online. I normally don't like leaving negative reviews, but something felt different this time. When we walked in there was only one other couple dining, and there was noticeable clutter sitting in the corners of the restaurant. It gave the place a different feel than what we remembered from our last visit. I ordered the Creole Breakfast Gravy. The biscuit itself was excellent--light, fluffy, and exactly how a biscuit should be. Unfortunately the gravy was disappointing. It tasted more like regular sausage gravy with a heavy amount of cayenne pepper and Cajun seasoning added to it. The flavors just didn't balance well. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. One poached egg was perfect, but the other came out over medium. That's something a trained chef normally wouldn't send out, and it made me feel like the kitchen might have a cook working the line rather than a chef overseeing the dishes. I do want to say the waitress was phenomenal. She was very attentive, friendly, and always made sure our coffee stayed fresh and hot. Her service was definitely the highlight of the visit. We will likely come back again because we know this restaurant can do better. Hopefully the kitchen can correct a few things and bring the consistency back.

However, there are some standard issues. Service is spotty at best often leaning toward flat out rude. The side salad is awful, but the cessation delicious. The potato soup is terrible and flavorless and there have been few times this has not been the case. Today however, I ordered my usual and genuinely enjoyed it. My dining partner ordered a BLT and potato soup. The person who dropped off the food was flat out rude and didn't want to be bothered. Our waiter, John S was terrible. It was brought to his attention that the soup was ice cold and the BLT was on toasted bread when specifically it had been requested that it not be. It took less than two minutes for him to "fix" it which meant nuking the soup and loading it with cheese which hadn't been in the original bowl and it had too much cheese and as always was gross. The BLT he took the top bread off and replaced the top with non toasted bread and left the bottom toasted. It was not made correctly and he knew it. An entire bowl of soup was left and not once did he ask if we'd like to take it to go, or offer drink refills. He was terrible! The ambience of the place is always nice but the greeters are equally unfriendly on most occasions. It's a shame because their main menu of steaks is delicious but I don't go as often as I used to because staff does not know how to perform even mildly courteous customer service. This visit was substandard in many ways and we left very unhappy with the service received and one person still hungry. For a nice restaurant that charges what they do, I would think they would want to perform better.
