The surgery is in an old Victorian building looking right out onto the seafront in Bray so there are amazing views from the chair to distract you. Dr. Smith recently won an award for being Ireland's most sensitive dentist and it was definitely well-deserved. She's friendly, easy-going and sympathetic to nerves. I'd say it would be a great surgery to bring children to. What I found most helpful was that she explains everything that she is going to do and what the different tools are so that there are no unpleasant surprises or unexpected torture instruments appearing in front of your face. There is also the option of sedation available if you really can't stick it.

That's the feeling I had having bitten down on an inexplicably hard battered mushroom and the result was a shard of tooth sitting in the palm of my hand. Cut to Q in a reclining chair with Brian the Dentist looking at the remains of my lunch between the remains of my teeth. I really thought I was going to loose at least a tooth if not two and I was picturing my bank manager smile as I signed for yet another loan. Not so, Brian pretty much rebuilt the tooth and with a pat on the head and a warning about deep-fried veg he sent me on my way. Rathmines Dental is definitely not the most fun you will ever have with your clothes on but when you do have to go to the dentist find somewhere like this where you are comfortable, it makes it all that little bit more bearable!
