This is my first Yelp review…read more The atmosphere at Tulsi is exceptional. The music is well-sourced, the cherry trees are tasteful and pleasant, and the historic Pulteney bridge location makes this a unique fusion of old and new. However, the service at this restaurant is terrible. I arrived at a time when the restaurant was relatively quiet, and yet the four-person wait staff seemed overwhelmed. I ordered a beer from the tap and a main dish with a side of naan bread. I waited over 30 minutes for my beer to arrive, as the wait staff forgot the order, and then brought the wrong drink to the table, and the last time the waiter who appeared in charge had to pour the drink and bring it over. While waiting, three different waiters asked to take my order, after I had already ordered and informed them of such. When the food arrived over an hour after I ordered, it was not as described in the menu, was cold, and was mediocre. I had to ask them to confirm that it was what I ordered. I asked for the bill from the same waiter who took my order and paid as I did not want to wait to leave after I finished my meal. It is worth noting here that the bread and appetizers they bring (almost unsolicited) at the beginning of the meal are not free and total approximately 5 pounds. After finishing my meal and leaving the restaurant, one of the waitresses chased me down and had the audacity to accuse me of not paying in the middle of the crowded street. Very embarrassing.

Very unprofessional behavior. First a text asking for a confirmation and a deposit. When asked…read morehow to provide the deposit, the reply was "We'll get back to you." The next day, a text informing us that they haven't the staff to open Christmas Day and therefore will be closed. This two days before the holiday. Very shoddy treatment.

The restaurant is located on the second floor, and you have to walk up a flight of stairs. We came on a Friday night and there were a decent number of diners inside. No reservations were needed, although we were asked. The service by all staff was friendly, kind, and courteous! They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. We shared family style and ordered Vegetable Korma, Saag Paneer, and Channa Masala. Also Sada Chawal and the Bread Basket. The veggie korma was one of the best I've had in my life. It was creamy, hearty, savory, and full of fresh vegetables. The channa masala I enjoyed but was a bit spicy for my taste buds. The rice is always a nice complement and the bread and warm and fluffy. Portions were good and we took the rest to go. Indian Temptation is a must-try in Bath if you like Indian food. Workers are lovely and the food is delicious. The restaurant is on the second floor of High Street and Cheap Street.

As you enter down the stairs to the entrance, pause and take a deep breath. As you enter in, you are greeted warmly, enveloped in warm decor, gentle Nepalese music, and a sense of someplace exotic and relaxing. There are a few rooms for dining inside and a garden patio area for enjoying the outdoors. My husband and I have never had Nepalese food before. We thought this would be an interesting taste amid our British journey. And indeed it was! The flavors were so tasty, ranging from subtle to vibrant. There were flavors I could not identify and yet wanted to continue eating because they were so unique and flavorful. I don't believe we left a crumb on our plates! And then there was the dessert. I have truly fallen in love with the flavor of the marinated oranges and yogurt that I had for dessert. I've never tasted anything like it before. I literally closed my eyes to block out all else so I could simply savor the delicate flavors. What a treat! When back home, I am definitely going to see if I can find a Nepalese restaurant to enjoy, but doubt it can replicate the deliciousness of this dining experience.

In all fairness, this was the first Indian restaurant…read moreexperience I'd yet had in the UK, and since then I've had it once more (which was also delicious), but still... This place was the best. For just over 13 pounds, we got two entrées - chicken tikka masala and a "fairly hot" lamb curry. We also got one big piece of garlic naan and a side of rice to share. The food came out quickly and was made fresh on the spot. Let's start with the tikka masala - creamy and rich, the chicken was tender and tasty. I'm not a big tikka fan but this was really good. I had the lamb curry and let me say a few things. First, I have a fairly high heat tolerance and this dish was HOT. That being said, even though it was slightly hotter than I'm used to eating, it was manageable and above all, beyond enjoyable. It was at the perfect level of spiciness - any hotter would have made it very painful to eat and any cooler it wouldn't have been as good. On to the lamb. Lamb is delicious when it's cooked correctly. Far too often though, lamb gets overcooked and comes out tough and gamey. This was not the case here - the lamb was cooked PERFECTLY! It was tender - you could cut through it with a fork. Partnered with the sauce it was like eating in heaven. The naan was my least favorite part of the meal, but it was still enjoyable. Just not the best naan I've ever eaten. That being said, I'd still order it again. Same with the rice. We enjoyed the food so much we almost ordered it again the next night, but resisted the urge so we could try something new. After all, we were on holiday! For a quick delicious meal I highly recommend this place - you won't regret it!!
