I come from an area with a lot of Indian immigrants myself so it was difficult coming to a place like Dortmund where it's hard to get diverse kinds of foods, but Sweet Chili definitely has a lot to offer. Great chicken Vindaloo, and they have no problem giving you a Sri-Lankan level of spice, though they can dial it down if you want. Great roti (no naan, this place is Sri Lankan), and awesome mango lassis. Dishes like the Chili Chicken Hot have always gotten the thumbs-up from friends, and if you want something you can't really get elsewhere, try out the Piddu or the Idiyappam. Well, they kinda seem like their only diffference is their shape but they're still good. The place has a homely kitchen feel to it - but a bit shabby. The man who served us could have been more friendlier to us. That would have complimented the warm feeling of the place. That's the main reason I give 3 stars. The food was decent. The sambar is typically srilankan Tamil style. The coconut chutney was fresh but a bit dry - a little bit more water or use of fresh coconut is recommended as I suspect dried coconut were used.
