Three times my wife and I have tried to eat lunch here. The food is usually decent actually. They have a good Cajun bean soup and awesome desserts. But, every time we come there for lunch it takes a minimum of 45 minutes for us to get a sandwich and a cup of soup. This last time we had no more time left to eat and the sandwiches they brought us were so soggy you couldn't pick them up. 3 strikes for us. If we hear that they've changed their methods in the kitchen then maybe we'll give them a shot again. read more

Got caught in the rain walking through town, so we went in this charming deli with more seating than appears to exist from the outside. We decided upon an appetizer of loaded nachoes, with the sweet Cajun bean chili. Other than the fact they used the heavy style yellow cornmeal chips, it was delicious. The dish would be better with lighter, thinner tortilla chips. Their cherry cobbler served with rich vanilla ice cream was perfectly sugar crisped and very satisfying as a shared dessert. Husband will go back at a mealtime for the sandwiches to try. Thumbs up. read more

We were originally looking for a place to eat some pie. Turns out we wanted a small bite to eat too so MSE fit the bill when we saw Cuban sandwiches advertised and dessert mentioned too. We shared a Cuban with black beans & rice. Mmmmmm good! The unsweet iced tea not so much. Unfortunately they just sold the last slice of peanut butter pie but that lead us down the path of their seasonal refrigerator pie. Wow, was it ever good! Pumpkin ice box pie was a first for us and we really liked it. Yes we'd go back. We really liked the Cuban and the pie. read more

My partner and I are visiting from out of town for work. We placed a delivery order, and waited for about an hour before we followed up on the status of our food. We then opted to go and pick it up ourselves, since their delivery driver was inundated. When Our lunch got back to the office, my order was wrong. Everyone else's order was fine, but I took mine back to the cafe to have them fix my sandwich, because I believe in giving people the opportunity to correct a situation. While it was fresh and large it was made of shredded iceberg lettuce and very lightly topped with other basic veggies. The rest of the party enjoyed their sandwiches. My wife & I stopped in after riding the Good Neighbor Trail. Very nice place easy to find. My wife ordered a hot turkey and provolone on chiabatta and I opted for a Rubin on rye plus a cup of Chile. The Chile as listed on the menu had a 'spicy hot' warning. They are required to bring a small sample to try - it was hot and spicy but very eatable. Kudos to a nice local restaurant. read more

Good thing I was on a diet. My salad portion was so small I needed a magnifying glass to find it (and $6!!). Could have made 5 salads for same price from stuff bought at the store. Black beans tasted like they came out of the can - no seasoning at all. Blah! My husband's Cuban was pretty good, but not the best I've ever tasted. If you want a really good Cuban - go to Cafe Masaryktown. Service fair - they did not offer to refill our drinks. Overall, I won't be back. read more
