Since I moved, this has become my new doctors surgery. I was really reluctant to change (and not that happy about it) because I really liked my doctor but ah, I had no choice.
You can call and make an appointment at any time (I've never had an issue with this) and appointments can only be made up to 2 weeks in advance. Looking at their website, you can now get a username and password from the reception desk to make appointments online (fancy!) and they offer a text appointment reminder service.
I was most recently at this surgery on Thursday and I do really like it. As you walk in, you are directly in front of the reception and there is a also a self service check in machine. I checked in and sat in the waiting area. The waiting area is open plan and kind of like in an oval shape with a comfy bench running round.
Unlike the old practice I used to attend, the doctors do not come out and call your name. There is a large screen and a loud beep each time a patient's name appears telling you which room to go to. If you have visual problems, the reception staff will let you know.
The doctor I was going to see was running late (typical) but I was eventually summoned to room 9. I always get nervous meeting new doctors but he was really nice, friendly and understanding. I have met one of the other male doctors here on a previous visit and he too was great. They really take the time to listen to you and that's something they don't teach at medical school (I'm guessing, haha). I honestly can't rate them highly enough. So far, I'm seriously impressed. read more
