It actually looks like a small hospital more than GP clinic and takes in quite a few local practices. I booked an appointment with my clinic as usual for a blood test arrived a little bit early seeing as it was my first visit. There's plenty of parking and even though the carpark looked full, there was people constantly coming and going so I was able to get a spot. Inside there's a large foyer area and cafe, and you just need to check the signs for where your GP practice is now located. There's 5 different GP practices and they all operate separately so it isn't really too different from how it was before, just in a more modern building. There's other services too, like podiatry, physiotherapy, children's services, adult mental health services, speech therapy, district nursing, health visiting and social work (taken from the website). On my way out, I popped to the cafe and was impressed by the prices and selection - I got a chocolate crunchie slice and the staff were really friendly. I really like this new building - it's about 5 minutes closer to my house and is really well set up. My only grizzle is that I couldn't get the free wifi to work but that's not the end of the world!

For the most part, it is full of young students who are worried about STI's. Appointments need to made well in advance or else there is a drop in from 8.30am. The wait can be unbearable, but once you get taken the staff are respectful and understanding and everything is confidential. A great service. Totally free as well.

Appointments can be made to allow you to go out with office hours which is useful for those nine-to-fivers. However, this is a popular option and may well mean waiting for up to an hour and a half after your allotted time. Thus, the other option of attending the drop-in clinic hours is possibly preferable for those of us who can get up at early bells and not need to be anywhere until lunchtime that day. While the drop-in times run from 8.30am-3pm (most days anyway). It is advisable to turn up as close to the 8.30am end as possible. It's also worth noting that a lot of the time you can also get away with turning up earlier than the above stated time. The service and advice offered is first rate. As well as getting a free sexual health check up, the clinic offers free treatment, counselling and a anonymously-notify-ex-partners service too. Meanwhile, you can also receive free methods of contraception (including the pill) as well as family planning information and treatments. It's also worth noting that you can decide whether or not they can share your test results with your doctor as well as where (and how) it is appropriate for them to contact you.

Dr Stephen Feltblower!!!! If I can give any advice to anyone please stay away from this doctor (or…read morebutcher as I call him) went in with stabbing feeling in groin. I hadn't slept for 3 nights because of the pain, my testicle was swollen and raised. This doctor made it very clear that I was an inconvenience to his day, he man handed my testicle whilst I squirmed around the bed in pain, he told me there was nothing wrong with me and sent me out the door with antibiotics (which made no difference to my symptoms). I made an emergency appointment with my gp the following morning to be told that my testicle had swelt to a size larger than it was the previous week. My gp was so concerned she made an emergency appointment to get an ultrasound done on my testicles. I'm now 3 months down the line and still struggling with daily life. I made a complaint to nhs forth valley regarding this and the doctor in question has lied through his teeth in his response. We're meant to be able to feel safe and trust these people and after this I have no faith in the system in place. Its embarrassing enough to have to get your penis and testicles out for complete strangers but when your made to feel the way this doctor made me feel, when I should be able to trust him is absolutely shocking.

My boyfriend had sudden back pain which was severe. He could hardly walk or talk from the pain…read more Owing to the severity, we called a taxi to the Larbert Accident and Emergency. As we waited, there was a general atmosphere of being dissatisfied by the long wait time and lack of communication from staff whilst patients waited. My boyfriend had gone to the toilet when his name was called. I explained, but the staff member insisted on calling another patient's name immediately after. Annoyingly, it was a matter of seconds till my boyfriend returned. It wasn't long till my boyfriend's name was called again. We felt lucky because we had waited a relatively short time. However, he was in for minutes; the doctor had refused to look at him because it was back pain and they do not consider this an emergency. Surely, this is not a case of black and white, and there are cases when back pain is, one: severe, and two: a symptom of something more serious underlying. We'd paid £18 in taxi fares, and were sent away to the Stirling Minor Injury Unit for an appointment later that evening. We walked a mile to Larbert train station as we couldn't afford another taxi regardless of how much pain my boyfriend was in. To add to the confusion there's a sign in the Minor Injury Unit which states that they do NOT treat back pain. The doctor there assessed my boyfriend's ears, stomach and back after apologising; she assumed that they would have already done this all quickly at Larbert. This wasn't the case. - My boyfriend was only told there was nothing he could do for them. I think there definitely needs to be clearer guidelines as to which unit is appropriate for your circumstances. At the moment, the information currently available has the risk of getting you in a right pickle. And I can't think of much worse than being in a pickle when you're feeling poorly.

Meet Stuart, massage therapist and qualified muscle-knowledge bloke. He's gonna kick the absolute bejesus out of you, all whilst explaining better ways to train & stretch to distract me from the fact that sports massage is actually kinda nippy. £40 for an hour, well worth it. The clinic offers a range of other services; if the standard across the board is the same as the massage, I'd heartily recommend.

But of course....visiting here usually means I'm broken. And the physio now recognises me enough to greet me with 'is this the same problem as last time?' (it's never been the same issue twice...) Anyway, I've never had a problem getting a short notice appointment and the clinic is convenient enough for my work to manage lunchtime appointments although they are open 7 days a week and until 8pm Monday to Thursday. The physio appointment will generally involve a discussion of the issue, an overall biomechanical assessment and investigation of the injury location then a bit of treatment and recommendations for exercises to do. Have found the advice to be very helpful. The clinic also sells a whole bunch of supports/foam rollers/massage ball type things which can be a help in your rehabilitation. Not to be neglected is sports massage - usually I only go when something has tightened up though I believe a general body tune up every now and then is a good idea. 'Tis my location of choice for sporty aches and pains!
