I spent many many summers here as a teenage camper and many more as a counselor...I even met the man who would become my husband here! The camp itself is beautiful, set over an idyllic maine lake with two beaches - one for swimming and another for watersports like wakeboarding and waterskiing. It's surrounded by pine which makes for a scent that constantly reminds you of where you are and how lucky you are to be there. The programs are amazing and there is really something for everyone. From water sports to theatre to fine arts to cooking to land sports and even a high ropes course, everyone can find something to love and excel in here. But what makes this place the most amazing is that it attracts campers and staff from all over the world, resulting in a group of people who might never meet spending the summer together - bonding over lip syncs, campfires, ice cream sundaes and lobsters. You never forget the people you meet here, or the time that's spent here because it is a saturated experience. You are free to emote, to live, to thrive in a way that is different from being "home." You can be you without the pretense of who people think you are. If you are able, you should consider sending your teenager here. They will be forever changed for the better (and have a couch to sleep on in every country during their future semesters abroad!) read more

Wish I could give a zero rating. The camp went bankrupt holding millions in prepaid fees from parents. Understand that Covid was unexpected but not sure where they spent the money when there wasn't any services provided. Wouldn't trust people that run a business this way with my kids. read more

I worked here as a counselor for several years and had some of the best summers of my life! The kids who come from all over the world are wonderful! The staff is so much fun! If you like being outdoors and working with kids, this is the place for you. The scenery alone at MTC is amazing . You are surrounded by nature! The programs at this camp are like no other. They have all of the general stuff too, but what Maine Teen Camp has that few other camps have are things like a climbing wall, a ropes course, a jewelry studio, a stained glass studio, and pottery. They also have their very own music studio! I wish I would have been a camper here, but did not learn of this wonderland until I was too old to be a camper. Still, I was lucky enough to get to work at Maine Teen Camp and because of this place, I have another family and friends ALL over the world! read more

I had a very unpleasant experience with this camp. Due to a medical emergency, my daughter was unable to attend. I was told my deposit might be returned if a provided a doctor's note. The camp owner, Matt Pines, acknowledged in an e-mail that he received the note and will give me a call. That call never came. I will never consider this camp again and advise others to think carefully before dealing with them. read more

If you are looking for a camp for a teenager that has never been to sleep away look no further, Maine Teen camp is everything you'd expect. A safe place for a teen to have appropriate freedoms, meet great people from the all over the world and develop incredible independence. Our daughter wanted to go to sleep away camp two years ago at the age of 12- much later than most kids start sleep away. We sent her to a traditional sleep away camp only to learn that the girls in her bunk had known each other for 5-6 years already and were not very open to accepting a new girl in the group (very typical of the age and of sleep away camp). She loved the experience of being away but felt very isolated and alone at times given the bunk dynamic. We searched for another option for her at age 13 and happened upon Maine Teen Camp. Matt and Monique were wonderful from our first meeting here in NY when Matt came to answer any and all questions. The camp experience at Maine Teen camp was leaps and bounds above our daughters first camp experience. The grounds and activities are outstanding. The lake is beautiful, exactly what you picture for a Maine sleep away camp. She can't wait to go back this summer and see all the friends she made! read more

mtc.. well you wanna know how i feel hmm... well then.. here we go mtc is da best!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing camp, kind people, a ton of awesome activities, friendships that last forever, you can experience things there than can be hard to find anywhere else!!!!! also.. great food. if you go to this camp you won't be disappointed you'll be like "woah this place is awesome" then in a dream a goat will say to you "much fun, such camp, must return"...well for me the goat happened.., the camp is still awesome infinity/infinity!!!! If i could give it 100 stars i would. This is literally the greatest place on earth and where some of my favorite memories come from. I am one of the luckiest girls on the planet to have gone here as a kid. The same owners are still there and as crazy (in a good way) as ever. Every kids deserves to have the opportunity to go here. Fantastic councilors, awesome activities, and i never wanted to leave! Can't wait to go back for our next reunion! read more
