I have used Audio Video Workshop several times to transfer Super 8 home movies, cassettes, and…read morereel-to-reel tapes to computer files. They have always done a great job and the orders were ready when promised. One of my recent orders was especially challenging. It was 30-year old cassette tapes of me interviewing my 98 year old grandmother over the phone. My voice was too loud and hers too faint. But they managed to improve the balance and remove much of the tape hiss. I can now enjoy my grandmother's stories of growing up in the early 1900's.

The customer service here is abysmal. I called this place 4 times in the afternoon (well after…read moreopening hours) to inquire about film processing because their website is unclear on their services. No one picked up every time, they even just sent me straight to voicemail. I end up just driving over to find the place is not busy at the slightest. They just ignore calls. I decided to make the drive out here and just talk to them in person. I've never met someone more dismissive in my life. The owner cuts off everyone who speaks to him. Right in front of me there was a sweet old woman who noticed there was a cash discount that was posted on the well after she handed over her film, she kindly asked to pay in cash for the discount and the owner told her "Nah I already typed in your order I'm not changing it." Shoo's her away after that exchange, and then says goodbye calling her by her first name. Which tells me this is a regular customer that he treats like trash. I'm next, I pull out my super 8 film and before I can even ask a question he says "nah we don't do those you have to go somewhere else" Which is fine. Not everyone processes super 8 (even though the website says they do,) which is an old medium. But the delivery and customer service were horrible. Someone should have answered the phone in the first place so I wouldn't be here "bothering" this guy on his very busy day of sitting around doing nothing. Also, This guys website shouldn't be coded/designed like a 6th grader did it, so that way the information can be clear and easy to read. Their website explicitly says "We transfer 8mm and 16mm film" which makes me believe this owner is just lazy and chooses not to work. It's sad really, the film medium is a dying industry and there are very few people who can be there to revive this medium and unfortunately this one in the Bay Area can choose to help this art form, but instead they choose to be a lazy business owner who has disdain for people who want to support his dying business. I've received better customer service from fast food chains than this place. If/when his business fails it's not because of a lack of customers or demand of services. But at the fault of a pathetic and bitter business owner who does not deserve it. To everyone reading I recommend looking for mail in film transfer. They are much more accommodating than this pathetic place.

I sent an email one night and got a response from Mared so quickly that it almost felt too good to be true. While some brides want the all-inclusive venue with everything provided, I really didn't care about expensive fancy chairs, in-house catering, florals, etc. I just wanted a space that allowed me to DIY as much as I could. Mac House provided me with the perfect blank slate that actually ended up having some bells and whistles that helped elevate my basic set-up, like customizable lighting and a convenient roll-up door that served as the perfect spot for our taco caterer. The team was very friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process and made me feel so comfortable in their space. Following their Instagram page, I learned that, aside from the amazing video production work they do, they are also involved in a variety of humanitarian initiatives. I'm happy to have been introduced to such an interesting local business and will stay in touch, even if just to root them on in their endeavors.

The #1 perk about Mac House has to be the flexibility of the space. Not only is there a large open…read morelobby, but there's also an entire studio in the back waiting to be decorated. The studio was large enough for 100 or so guests, 13 tables, two bars (one alcohol and one water/coffee/tea, and food buffet - plus a dance floor for everyone to dance on. Best of all, unlike many venues, you're welcome to use any vendor (party rentals, catering, etc) that you want. This was a huge plus for us! With a little imagination, we were able to transform the entire space to fit the 'Dancing Under The Stars' theme we dreamt up for our wedding reception. Since they're a video production studio, it was super easy talking with them about how to light the entire space. At the end of that night, my wife and I, and all our guests had the most wonderful evening!

They have a very extensive portfolio on their website, which I loved as it really gave me a sense of the style of filming and editing they do. Once I sent an inquiry, Christina was very responsive and informative. She was also great with communicating with us and our other vendors the few weeks leading up to the wedding, making sure her team's equipment would work with our DJ's audio setup. On wedding day, Christina was absolutely lovely to work with. As someone with no experience being on camera, I loved that she gave tips on suggested movements to make that appeared really natural and beautifully on camera. She made us feel at ease with all the advice. Christina's ability to speak Chinese was a great bonus - it made coordinating with our Chinese-speaking family members much easier and kept everyone on the same page. The finished products turned out amazing. I couldn't be happier with the videos provided and how well everything turned out. Thank you so much to Christina and the team for making our wedding day so special! I'd absolutely recommend working with Filmman Video for anyone looking for a wedding videographer - you definitely won't be disappointed with the results.

Nothing felt awkward or staged, which was huge for us. They somehow managed to capture all the important moments without making it feel like there was a camera in our faces all day. And final product was amazing. The full wedding video turned out beautifully, but the wedding day trailer is what really blew us away. It perfectly captured the vibe, emotion, and little moments from the day. We've watched it so many times already and sent it to friends and family who all said the same thing: it feels like a movie. The editing, music, pacing -- it all just worked. Watching it brought us right back to the day and reminded us of moments we didn't even realize were being captured at the time. If you're even considering getting a wedding videographer, do it -- and if Liquid Video Lab is an option, don't overthink it. They delivered something we'll have forever, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Highly, highly recommend.
