The cave isnt that big. The tour will probably last about 15 minutes. You'll see brilliant blue water (Splashee Splashee looky looky). A rock looks like either Ronald Regan or Bibi Netanyahu depending on the tour participants ( it's miracle! Looky looky) You can get to the caves from the highway above or by boat. You take the tour w a guide in their canoes. Five euros each. Our guide was a card. I'm guessing he has another gig as host of the local poetry slam at the pizzeria. Overall, I got the sense that local tourist bureau was making the most they could out of this cave. And our guide was in on the joke, that it's slightly interesting but the UNESCO world heritage folks are going to be swinging by anytime soon. For five euros what the hey. It's worth it.

Sitting along the eastern boundary of the Amalfi Coast, the city of Salerno is more urban than its…read morewestern cousins though has a seaside appeal of its own. While I didn't have time to explore the city, what I saw reminded me a bit of coastal towns long the south of France like Antibes--marinas filled with boats along an azure sea, rocky waterfronts and pastel colored buildings about four or five stories tall in the city center. There is one main train station and several smaller stations where local commuter lines stop. Two port areas service the city, Porto Turistico, a smaller one where more local ferries dock, and where I went to catch a ferry to Amalfi, and Porto Salerno, where larger ships and cruise ships sail. For a visitor, there's a few noteworthy view points, some coastline with beaches, a handful of archaeological and historic cultural sites around to visit, though it's not a main draw the same way some other towns like Positano, Amalfi, Ravello are. It felt more of a local, quieter waterside town, a transit point for tourists headed for the rest of the coast. Certainly less over the top in the way Sorrento has become a luxury resort hub.

This piazza is dominated by the Duomo or Cathedral of Amalfi, set high on top of steep, wide steps. There is a fountain here, water coming from the lady's breasts. So weird just like Manneken Piss in Brussels. I would recommend you guys visit the shops here, they are so beautiful. I wanted to buy so much stuff. I bought wall decor for my house, Ravello lemon is very famous and juice ( or wine) in bottles are for sale at every shop. Restaurants are just at the foot of the cathedral. It's like any European city just on a small scale. So beautiful

This church is absolutely stunning and worth the trip up all those stairs to get to see it…read more I honestly do not think it's worth any admission price to enter, even if it's under 5 euro each to get in. We paid less to see some amazing things at other places so the value wasn't there for me. So even if you don't want to enter, I still think it's a great view from the cathedral down to the city. There are also some cool architectural details you can look at without going inside. Ans it's cool up here, so if you're trying to get away from the heat, for free, this is your place to go.

Go here with kids if you are passing by the area! It's a small cave/grotto you reach by taking an…read moreelevator down about 50 stories and then you exit, walk into the cave and hop on a mini rowboat to enter into the grotto water. You really could just walk into the cave and be good with the experience as the rowboat travels about 15/20 feet in a circle and the guide makes jokes about seeing a gorilla and other formations in the rocks and there is a baby Jesus statue under water as he makes up stories to give you an experience. For those who don't like boats and might miss out on the Capri grottos this would be an acceptable grotto experience for land lovers. The water is calm inside the grotto so no worries at all if you have any boat or motion sickness anxiety. It's really as calm as bath water despite the outside being a bit choppy. It was clear they are milking every tourist tip and dollar possible as the tips seem obligatory. If you go, to set your expectations I would say to think of this like the "it's a small world" ride at Disney in Orlando m...it's basically a boat on a track that just goes around in a small circle with some songs and takes way longer than necessary. Definitely the scariest part is elevator ride because the thought of getting trapped inside in a rock mountain shaft is probably the only thrill experienced here. Even if your kids stand up on the rowboat it's very stable so seems impossible to tip over. This was a stop we did because the day prior when we were in Capri the weather was bad and they closed the blue grotto (which someone reviewed here by accident so disregard that persons review) and I really wanted the kids to have a grotto experience while we were in Italy. This is similar to the blue grotto because of the color but I was really expecting it to be green so was slightly disappointed. It probably would be a cute way to escape the heat for a few minutes in the summer as it's shaded and cool. I was hoping to learn a bit more but it's cute for kids and what it is.
