They have a wide selection of beads, wool and jewellery making supplies as well as some beautiful jewellery, handmade cards and mounted photographs shot by the owner/operator. The shop smelled wonderful (thanks to a recent delivery of soaps), and was minded by a lovely, chatty, shopowner. Definitely worth popping into as you wander through South Queensferry, and the perfect place to find a gift. They also run jewellery making and knitting classes, so you can be sure you'll get the most out of your purchases!

Indeed, I wasn't particularly drawn to look at it, apart from the large figure of a highland dressed soldier situated at the side of the shop! From the outside, the shop looks quite small and insignificant, however Scotia Kilts provides a very good service indeed. Not only does it provide kilts/highland dress for hire and sale, this shop also buys in your old kilts, jackets and highland clothing! Indeed, you can hand in your old clothing and get a discount on the price of buying some new highland wear! The kilts and all the majority of the clothing are made in Scotland, so if you prefer to buy goods made in the locality/Scotland, then this shop is for you! It's good to know that you are buying the famous Scottish dress which supports local Scottish industries!

They are open Monday to Saturday until midnight and close at 10pm on Sundays. Although they do have a clothing and home area, there is not a huge choice. That is much the same for the whole store you could easily do your weekly shop there but there isn't too much choice of anything. There are many manned checkouts as well as several self service and these always appear to be very well run as I have never had to wait too long to be served. The staff are very helpful I was looking for a non alcoholic wine and asked a young chap to tell me where they kept it. He wasn't sure but to his credit did go and find out and then took me to the correct aisle

Giving easy access to the whole of South Queensferry. There is a large food area, canteen, clothing and home area. Everything you would need including alcohol can be bought here. Staff are always smiling, however I would avoid the store during school break times as the queues are always huge at that time!

Actually it sells a lot of bits and bobs but mostly paintings of the sea, model sea ships, old shipping equipment. I like a lot of this sort of thing, especially genuine sea faring gear, it has a real charm. I'm not such a fan of the large numbers of model ships and only mediocre quality paintings. But I definelty like this shop's focus. Antique shops can come in different varieties. There are very pretentious and snooty ones, and then there are ones like Sea Kist, welcoming everybody, affordable, honest. It certainly adds something to the street, and is especially relevant given it placing right opposite the fantastic views of the Forth and the Forth bridges.

So as I was walking down the High Street, I could not but be drawn into this shop. This shop sells antiques which are all related to the high seas! From old water colour paintings to fabulous replica models of ships, this shop sells it! The shop is quite small inside and is well stocked with the amount of antiques it has. If you want some old seas faring equipment and travel back to the days of Nelson and Black beard, and then pay Sea Kist a visit!

The shop, with its bright white walls and blue text on the outside, catches the attention, I would imagine, of most people passing by, however the shop itself probably does not attract those passing by inside. The first shop window has a number of old looking picture frames and fabrics, whilst the other shop window is designed for the attention of children. However, when inside, am sure even children would find this stock dated and lacking any oomph! This shop has the potential to be really good, however the inside is like all those other charity shops which are dated and are in the traditional charity shop mould. It is a shame as the money raised in this shop cause towards a great cause. It raises money for those who suffer from blindness, partial sight and their carers throughout the Lothian region.

Tucked away, and placed above the High Street, opposite Orocco Pier, this shop is a small second hand shop. This second hand shop, primarily sells old and unwanted books, however the shop also sells a small selection of records and Cd's. The shop is quite small, but the amount of stock they have is staggering! The shop raises money for the Ferry Fair which takes place in the town every August, and last year contributed over two thousand pounds (So I was told by a volunteer at the shop)! It's a great way to raise money and make sure books don't go wasted!

Not only does it sell the usual newspapers and sweets, but it also sells toys and gift. Most of these are quite cheap, but its quite nice to see a newsagents still trying to tempt children with toy cars and sea side paraphernalia. The other twist to this shop is its wide selection of good sweets. Town Crier don't just offer Cadbury's, but also a wide variety of traditional confectionery, served from traditional tall tubs. Like seemingly all shops in Queensferry, from curry houses to funeral directors, it also serves ice cream. A great newsagents that stands out just a little. I should also add that the staff here were very friendly when I was a bit lost and asked for directions.

The newsagent sells the usual papers and magazines, where you can also order in and reserve specific titles. They also sell crisps, ice cream and sweets, including the traditional sweets that come in big tubs and are charged by weight. They also stock little souvenirs, trinkets and post cards all aimed at tourists as South Queensferry regularly has cruise liners docking in the forth.

The local post office can be found up the back of the shop, which can be a bit of a pain if it is very busy for example on pension day as the queue can sometimes get out of hand. Fresh bread is available most days, and there is always a wide variety of offers available. Staff are nice and helpful and there is always a familiar face serving at the tills.
