I came here for lunch and a lot of reviews said it gets busy but I found it not too crowded. You order at the counter and sit where you like with a number. The menu and prices were reasonable for New Haven, not cheap and not too expensive. I really like the inside of the cafe, it had a good ambiance to it. The coffee was good, not too sweet. The service was okay, the waitress was confused and almost brought me the wrong order and it did take a bit for me to get my food. The food was good, as you would expect the egg benny to taste. Overall it was good experience, service could improve a tad bit but I will definitely come again.

I stopped by for lunch and it gets BUSY. Food came out in ~15 minutes. You can place your order at the cashier and they'll bring the food to you. Free wifi and outlets available for studying (bring headphones as it can get super loud). For parking, there is a small lot in the front (unsure how much they charge/hr) or you can park on the street. Spicy Guacamole Burger (specials menu) - This sandwich is HUGE. It came on the house-baked pretzel roll which was soft and fluffy. The patty itself was a bit dry but not bad. My only complaint was that there was no spice to it at all...I was expecting a small kick to the burger but it tasted just like a regular burger. It came with french fries which I have to say were suprisingly super good! I would be back just to order a side of fries Lime Cilantro Chicken Wrap ($15) - I personally don't like cilantro so I ordered this without cilantro. I'm not sure if the cilantro was part of the sauce but the wrap itself was a bit dry. Butternut Squash Soup ($6.75) - super mushy texture, watered down flavor - wouldn't get again Freshly squeezed orange juice ($4.95/small) Iced Tea ($4.25/large) Overall, I would come back here again. They have lots of options and also waffles I would love to try.

Cute place. Nice menu. Loved my turkey and avocado sandwich on their crispy roll. Very tasty. It's like they squeezed lime on the avocado. Had such a nice flavor. Bread delicious. Massive sandwich. Prob should put on a smaller plate as it looks like it's missing something (Note first picture). Would be nice to get a few chips with it on the plate. Bags of Chips are at the counter if you want them for extra. Sort of a long line at lunchtime so the girl at the counter wasn't super friendly. You order there then go sit. Prob waited 10 minutes for my food. Not too bad. Reviews are correct on seating. Not super comfy seating but it is what it is. You aren't dining in for hours. I sat in corner area at a small table and the area to put your feet is weird as the bottom of the table has a massive bottom to it. Nice that they have a little self serve water station. Nice touch. Matcha was good. Love when places do the little designs. Cute. Would come back.

I stopped by this cafe while I was picking up an order nearby at a bakery. Needed some caffeine!! I ordered the Iced Belgian Mocha Latte and it was soooo tasty!!! It was a weekday around noon and the Cafe was packed! Seemed very popular. I would definitely come back to try other menu items! Very cute interior and plenty of seating.

MOST disrespectful job interview I have ever had in my life. I would not recommend no one either be a customer or an employee here: First, the blondy register girl working at the counter just straight up PRETENDED not to understand me because I have an accent from another country. Then, she was like "he is up here early", which is not a bad thing; to go early for an interview. THEN, when I tried to introduce myself to the owner, Marika, SHE POINTED AT SOME TABLE WITH HER ARM WITHOUT EVEN SAYING HELLO as if she is directing an animal towards some point. Completely RUDE and ARROGANT. It is hard to believe this "lady" is actually from Europe... THEN, she did not want to shake my hand before we start a conversation. I really wonder what type of "European" culture she belongs to. Why would you INVITE someone to have an interview with you if you do not want to shake hands or offer some water in the middle of July heat. THEN, she did not want to believe that I am from Istanbul ( I am Black and it must be her first time seeing a mixed-race person from Europe I guess. ) Just RACIST and DISCRIMINATIVE behaviour. They are so arrogant that they must be thinking they are the only one with a 400 sq.ft ish coffee shop/bakery with some 10-15 tables throughout North America Just DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE THINKING YOU WILL EXPERIENCE UPSCALE EUROPEAN SERVICE. They are nowhere near how they commercialize themselves.

I would consider my visit a Moderately busy afternoon, the staff however was inattentive and slow, My order was charged wrong, Coffee was cold!!! The coffee station was out of sugar and cream, never to get that fixed!!! That's ok because my coffee was so cold that if I added cream, I may have just had milk.....tables were all dirty and full of crumbs that we went outside to sit...! Never again!!!

    Cappuccino

Came here 2x for breakfast. Amazing dark roast full-bodied cappuccino, not the bland like most coffee shops in the US where they serve light-bodied tea-like coffee. It tastes very European! Loved the nice ambiance with floor-to-ceiling windows, the whole space feels so light and airy. Met the owner, a Belgian from Brussels , super friendly, just like the staff!

Super yummy food, great portions, and very filling! A solid breakfast spot! I can see myself coming here a lot once I start grad school! As you walk in, the place is super spacious, well lit, and has a lot of seating (tables and stools). I love the ambiance and aesthetic of the place! A lot of the reviews on here are bad because of the wait time, however in my instance, I only waited 10 minutes to order and 10 minutes for my food and latte. And I happened to have came in on a Sunday morning. You first line up to order and then grab a table. The service was good as well! For food and drinks, I got a vanilla latte and the loaded avocado. The latte was super good! Great body, good layer of foam, and just the right amount of sweetness. The loaded avocado was equally as tasty. I wish there was a bit more salt, but overall it was delicious. Plus it was a huge portion! I'm looking forward to coming back to this place!

Cute little cafe near Yale's campus. The menu is plentiful. Food was good and service was as well. Had plenty of outlets so could be a nice place to work.

The two had worked as butchers when they first immigrated to New Haven. When they heard that a local sausage company named Phil's Sausage Kitchen on Congress Avenue was going bankrupt, the brothers borrowed $1,000 to purchase the location. The Hummel Brothers had both trained as 'wurstmachers' (sausage makers) in Germany and wanted to make the finest products available to local consumers. Thus 'Hummel's Premium Quality Provisions' was born, and it didn't take long for the company to become a household name. They moved to their current larger location in the 1970s. Today the company is run by their grandchildren. The company's best-selling product has always been their hotdogs. Hummel Brothers were one of the first sausage companies to stop using red dye and make hotdogs with their natural color. Varieties they make include Natural Casing Frankfurters, Skinless Frankfurters, All-Beef Frankfurters, Red Hots and Cocktail Franks. Hummels' Hotdogs are widely available at supermarkets and restaurants throughout Southern Connecticut. If you buy a hotdog from a hotdog vendor in the area, chances are that it's a Hummels' Hotdog. Hummel Brothers also make a variety of other meat products including bratwurst & knockwurst, kielbasa, spiral ham & ham steaks, corned beefs, and various deli meats. They also have a retail store and deli at their production facility where you can buy delicious sandwiches. I recently stopped in for a delicious Pastrami, Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwich. Hummel Brothers have been very special to me for as long as I can remember. The first hotdog I ever ate was a Hummels' Hotdog and I rarely eat other brands. I also have a family connection. My great-grandfather Heinrich "Henry" Klein was a trained butcher and immigrant from Cologne, Germany. The Ciccone family has origins from Naples, Italy. The family-owned market specializes in fresh produce, freshly baked breads, prepared dishes, various Italian imports, and catering services. In 2009, the Ciccone family purchased the Orange Street Market in New Haven's East rock neighborhood and turned it into P&M's second location. A third location opened in Hamden in 2022, but it closed down the following year. In recent years, Mario & Maria have taken a step back and let their sons Bruno and Joseph "Pino" take over. Bruno handles business at the original Branford location while Pino runs things at the New Haven location. Pino also owns Enoteca Cassanova (a liquor store), which is right next to the New Haven location. My family and I just visited P&M Orange Street Market for the first time. This was our first visit to either of P&M's locations. We really liked the market which featured a lot of great fresh foods, prepared dishes, and other products. But the main reason we came to P&M was for their pizza! Beginning in 2024, P&M began hosting "Pizza on the Patio" every Wednesday from 4-8pm throughout the warmer months. Their pizza trailer parks in front of the storefront and slings up delicious wood-fired pies. The chalkboard menu changes up every week, depending on which ingredients are fresh and available. After looking over the menu, we ordered and shared a "Cheese Pizza", the "High Heat" (Margherita w/ cherry peppers & hot honey), and "The Charmer" (circular panini w/ burrata, mortadella, arugula, cherry tomatoes, topped w/ EVOO, balsamic glaze & crushed pistachios). Holy moly! This pizza was fantastic! Excellent sauce and just the right amount of char around the edges of the crust (which you don't always see with wood-fired pizza). All of the toppings tasted super fresh too! "The Charmer", which was essentially a panini-pizza hybrid, was very interesting. The friendly staff told us that it was the first time it was ever featured on the menu. We really enjoyed our experience at P&M Orange Street Market and hope to return for another pizza night soon!
