I actually eat here twice last week while on my business trip. Once alone and then brought back colleagues who never had Moroccan food before. This is a great place overall to get exposed to middle eastern varieties. I know it's a Moroccan restaurant but there is hardly any difference with a traditional Lebanese as an example. As a group of 4 we tried the variety small selections of 7 hot and 7 cold dishes with a large bread basket and specialized lemonade or ice-teas. The service was very good overall by Sandra, unlike my first visit earlier in the week, which I seemed to have got lost in the larger picture and had to ask for getting some help while there. read more

Adorable Moroccan restaurant. Went for breakfast and loved the atmosphere and and seating (couches and large round tables). Delicious food, got the organic yogurt with fruit. Friendly service and the restrooms were clean. Fresh bread and the yogurt and fruit was ripe. Great for small groups with being able to talk to another. read more

Came here for a friend's bday dinner last night. Was a bit difficult to find at first, because the street numbers suddenly jumped from the 20's down to 7. Finally got in and was seated at a long table for 10 people. As expected, the place was packed, so it was good to have a reservation. I ordered the mint tea, which came with TONS of mint leaves. Quite nice and refreshing, with a hint of green tea. Then we shared a large appetizer of hummus, tabouleh, falafel, yogurt, etc. So filling that I didn't need to eat anything else. (Didn't help that I downed a huge plate of nachos shortly before coming though.) My bf ordered a Kefta-Tagine, which was supposed to be spicy beef and lamb meatballs with Moroccan tomato sauce served in an earthenware pot. He said it wasn't spicy at all and actually found it kind of boring. I had a taste and found it okay. This is my fave place in Zurich to have brunch, Maison Blunt offers fantastic Middle Eastern fare, in a great atmosphere with good service. Maison Blunt is divided in two parts: a tearoom where you can sit in a souk-like setting and which is super photogenic and a more traditional restaurant set-up. Reservations are certainly needed, I came here on a weekday for brunch (had a day off work) and the place was bustling. We arrived around 11 am and this seems the sweet spot where you can still opt to eat from their breakfast/brunch menu as well as of their regular menu. My friend and I opted for the big mezze platter, each component on it was just amazing. Pair that with a bottle of prosecco and the pretty but laid back atmosphere of the tea-room and you feel like a queen! Certainly going back - highly recommended!! read more

Came here with my friend on a Monday morning for breakfast. It was calm & not busy (10am). The customer service was pretty cold and unfriendly. If you can handle that, go for their breakfast! It's delicious. I had the oriental style breakfast plate and especially the pickled carrots & the hummus were delicious. the avocado mousse was not too.. it's amazing that you get a variety of bread (flat bread, Swiss Zopf, croissants and whole grain bread), all you can eat. Just: for that price range I wish the service would be a little more friendly. And we asked for a chai and they charged chf 2.00 for a small pot of honey. read more

Apart from Josef this place is really one of my favourites. It is a Moroccan restaurant in Kreiss 5 (close to Riff Raff and Josef). The restaurant is divided in 2 parts, the left part is for reservation and le right part you can just come and try to have a seat. If you wanna have a guaranteed table please book ahead (for a friday or saturday you should at least book 3 to 4 days in advance). In summer they also have tables outside in the backyard (and in front of the restaurant as well). I like the 'mezze royal" It is a big plate with different small dishes. you can share it with 3 - 4 people. It is really delicious, you have to try it for sure. Especially the hummus is really really good !! The restaurants offers a wide range (and good) range of moroccan wine. I heart from friends that the brunch on sunday is very good. Unfortunately I never tried it. I am a big fan of this place. The downside: the waiters have this hipster-unfriendly attitude. read more

I didn't make a reservation but was able to find a table that we could share with other people. This place is very casual and busy. You see people in all ages, dressed casually or business and group/family/couple. Servers didn't speak english well but as long as you are familiar with middle-eastern, moroccan dishes, you would be OK. We had one coming with 2 chicken/beef kebab and 3 choices of cold tapas. All were very tasty and enough for 2 people. Don't order lebne (tzatziki) because a small bowl of the same thing comes with meat. The basket of bread get free refilled as much as you want. Just ask. Very friendly service but often long wait till you get the attention due to the restaurant being so full... With beverages, big tapa set and one dish of fried sticks of philo wrapped cheese, it came out about 57 CHF. Try it :) read more

Quite the weekend brunch-for-hipsters scene going on here. But if you enjoy people watching while eating near-eastern food or toking on a Shisha/Water Pipe then this is a great place for you! Evenings are less crowded and offer nice cocktails in a more chill atmosphere... Brunch is rather packed and buzzing, so make a reservation. The decor is very interesting, as can be seen from the photos. The wait staff is funky and quite friendly. Seating is outside sidewalk-cafe, inside on low round traditional tables with squat seats and pillows, inside normal chair-and-table... and outside back on the sunny patio. This is 'my' breakfast place in Zurich. Unfortunalty very busy on weekends and therefore difficult to get a table. But the breafast is very good. Go for the large breakfast and enjoy dark bread, bircher muesli, some ham and cheese and add it up with a mint house tea and a frech orange juice. read more

When I arrived at the restaurant, the way in which I was greeted and taken to my table make me feel worse - I wish the waitress had taken the time to ask whether we wanted to eat or just get drinks, and could have warned us not to sit outside if they were supposed to no longer serve food outside. I could not hear what the waitron said besides that we were not welcome anywhere in the restaurant - there were tons of free tables without reservation signs on them, but somehow we met the trainee with one big attitude. The physical condition of the menu was easy to read and understand, for most part. I could form a good idea of what I order from the descriptions and language in the menu except for serving sizes. The waitron was unable, though, to answer all my enquiries, and didn't react to questions meant to coach him in the right direction. When the waitron served my food, it make me feel not good as I felt very unwelcome. The food does not live up to the promises made in the restaurant's promotional material, advertising and menu, because serving sizes are smaller than they should be. The standard of the waitron's service was ugly, to speak the truth, though this may be management's fault for hiring an incompetent waitron and an even more immature and incompetent head waiter. My experience of the billing process from asking for it to paying it was ok. What was my overall experience of the visit to the restaurant was ugly because I didn't get treated the way I was expecting to get treated. I think was the restaurant staff's experience of our visit was probably bad (though they could have learnt out of it), since I explained to the incompetent head waiter our issue after our waitron complained about our feedback, and somehow the head waiter didn't know how to take the criticism - he said his boss didn't care. Decent Ethiopian. I ordered the tagine to benchmark against the one I can rapidly cook at home. Unfortunately this was a much smaller portion with weak flavors that are attempted masked by decent olive oil. Ended with more hummus and baba ganoush type apps which filled but did not satisfy.
