Had a magnificent dinner with 7 members of our company's Czech team at what is arguably the premier restaurant in the city. It is said to rival the best Mediterranean cuisine anywhere in this country including its capital of Prague. After enjoying a flavorful local brew from Bruno's Starobrno Brewery, we tried a local white wine from the well-regarded Moravia wine making region. It was absolutely over the moon. Our group also enjoyed some delicious hot appetizers including a lobster-stuffed pasta, some golden brown sautéed St. Jacques scallops and a dynamite Duck Consommé Soup. For our entrees, we chose either a grilled plate of a variety of steaks or a fresh seafood medley including Tuna, Halibut, Sea Bass and Cod. This is where Borgo Agnese really hit its stride with some of the freshest seafood and juiciest beef we'd ever experienced. Look at those pics! Additionally, it was conveniently next to the concert hall we were heading. What we got in the end was a surprise for all of us. First of all, the atmosphere inside was unique. From the chairs, tables to the wall decorations, you can tell this place held on to an appearance without making it seem like they are kicking off a trend. We were lucky to find a table for us because the whole place was packed till the concert time. I am not sure if it is always packed during the evenings or if the concert nearby helped add to the fire. The menu clearly stood out as unique. They had a few traditional Czech meals but there was also the additional main stream burgers, steaks, etc offered. These mainstream meals were given a twist of its own. There was either a different sauce to what you'd expect or brought together with side-dish you would not normally choose. The meals were all outstanding. If you are in Brno with a group of friends, head out here for an evening of drinks and meal. I can assure you, you will not be disappointed and will remember this place along with the towns sights.
