Biscuit with egg and bacon & flapjacks Delicious!

We took the recommendation from staff at The Windsor Court and headed over to eat at this cute diner, est 1965. Everything was really fresh, lots to choose from for breakfast or lunch and great prices. Was perfect first morning stop in NOLA!

We stopped in for a quick breakfast and had a delightful quick breakfast meal. Whatever you get here, you truly must get a biscuit as they are some of the best I've ever had!

A perfect way to wrap up our NOLA trip. We stopped in for breakfast before checking out of the Eliza Jane Hotel and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was delicious, the coffee was excellent, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. The space has such a timeless charm; it's not old, yet it somehow makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. Loved the atmosphere and the inviting interior. A wonderful dining experience all around.

Nice little spot! I came in on for lunch and loved the inside atmosphere. AC was blasting and the music was good. Service was friendly as well. We ordered a hamburger and fries and a spicy chicken biscuit sandwich. The biscuit and chicken was a little dry for my liking but the seasoning was a good sweet and spicy mix which I enjoyed. Overall, I'd be back if I'm looking for a nice brunch or lunch spot in the area!

Great breakfast today, finally grits not in cream. Live their tasty sauce on the omelette. Flaky biscuits a guilty must. Wormers the walk from the FQ

Came in here and was seated immediately with a group of 7. Service was super fast and the food was INSANE. I'm a big fan of breakfast Benedict's and found their CBB to take the best of everything and smash it into a juicy tasty profile. There was a little mixup with the server on our order that took some dishes a bit longer to come out on but they were friendly and overall the food was to die for. Only a block away from a Ruby Slipper but no wait, highly recommend!

Cute vintage cafe that serves good cooking with the friendliest staff. Breakfast and lunch available. Reasonable prices and quaint atmosphere. Just loved the vibe. The CBB was fantastic. A wonderful blend of flavors. Service was fast.

A longtime favorite among business professionals and now a popular choice for tourists, this spot offers excellent service and is conveniently located near the French Quarter. We enjoyed the outstanding SPICY chicken on biscuit, tater scrambler, fresh coffees, and real orange juice. The total bill for two, including tip, was $50

    All American with Mamie biscuit.

Gosh dang it! I miss this place. When people ask me what I did in NOLA, I tell them I had Mamie's biscuits. The night before we had walked to Mothers not far from here for dinner. When we woke up, we said let's walk and find something. The sidewalks were a mess with construction but we pushed through and somehow still found this place. It was like the cobblestone road leading us to oz. This place was packed on a weekday morning, luckily we did not have to wait. Unfortunately we were crammed against the wall with a very small table between us. At first I was kinda bummed about that because I wanted to enjoy my meal with a little elbow room, however, when the food came out, I didn't care! We ordered the All American breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon and upgraded the toast (for a small charge) for a mamie biscuit. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich with ham, bacon, egg & cheese on a mamie biscuit. All of which were very good, the bacon was made just right and the eggs were nice and fluffy. I can't say much about the potatoes, because all I was into were the mamie biscuits. Why on earth would something so good be so far from home? The ambiance is cool, with historic old school charm- old TV on the wall and neon signs date you back to the old days, while offering modern amenities and decor. It's always rad to read and learn the history of a business, and this place has been there since the 1930's! The service was a bit of a bummer, not the greatest, perhaps because they are so busy. But that was okay, I was too busy eating mamie's biscuits anyways. Dine or Dash? What do you think? I'm ready to dine again, heck, you think they will mail me some of those biscuits?

    Shrimp & Grits
    Greg M.

Came in on a Sunday morning. Website said they opened at 8:00. Got here at 7:55 and they were already bumping. Saw the BBQ shrimp and grits featured on the website, so I went with that. The shrimp and the BBQ sauce were delicious! The grits were nondescript, though I'm not a grits connoisseur, the ones that I like are thicker, not like Farina cereal as these were, though there was plenty of butter to go around. Also got the biscuit rather than the toast, which was excellent. Place is really small, only seats about 50 people. But they have plenty of hired help to move things along quickly. Left at 8:25 and the place was packed.

    The Rougarou

Nice, friendly little corner diner down the street from my hotel on Canal. Like a previous yelper said, this is where your locals from the work district come in for some grub. Waitstaff is attentive, everything is orderly and clean, so this is definitely a place you'd want to go for a no frills, chill experience. The menu has breakfast and lunch offerings (lunch isn't served until about 11). Some familiar items and not so familiar ones. Went straight to the bar seating and decided to get something from the latter bucket: - The Rougarou - 8/10: named after the mythical werewolf of Cajun folklore or the hometown boxer Regis Prograis, this dish is cleverly named. But it's really a pretty standard breakfast of three eggs, two choices of proteins, and a healthy bowl of grits. You also get a side of toast, but I upgraded to a biscuit. Although pretty standard, everything is cooked to perfection and there's a lot of everything. You'll be full for sure. Loved the eggs scrambled. Not overcooked at all, and just a bit wet, the way it should be cooked. Biscuit was on point, too. Food came out quickly and payment was an easy in and out card transaction. Definitely recommend if you want a no frills, casual bite to eat.

Quality coffee, breakfast, and lunch at a diner with a long, outstanding tradition in the New Orleans Central Business District. This eatery is always on point and I feel at home here. Restaurant underwent an incredible renovation and its perfect. Visit Majoria's Commerce. A true win.

The executive chef is definitely cooking very very well!!! We loved the Blue Crab Ragoon App as well as the Crab Cakes. There was nothing left on the plates. For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!

Both were outstanding. The Bananas Foster French Toast was rich, indulgent, and packed with flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet. The bananas and sauce were the perfect complement to the French toast, making it feel like a New Orleans dessert and breakfast all in one. The Boudin Breakfast Biscuit was equally impressive. The biscuit was fresh and flaky, and the boudin added a delicious Cajun flavor that set it apart from a typical breakfast sausage. Every bite was savory, satisfying, and uniquely Louisiana. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it's easy to see why Surrey's has such a loyal following. The hashbrowns were very crispy and seasoned well, so I loved them, as soggy hashbrowns are a major pet peeve of mine. The chicken biscuit was good, but I'm not 100% sure it was to my taste. It was massive and very hard to eat, and there was a lot of fried chicken skin. The mayo on the sandwich was definitely homemade and had a very strong egg flavor, so I would go without that next time. The biscuit was probably the best biscuit I've ever had. There was a line when we arrived, but we liked how the host walked the line asking how many people in your party in case they were able to seat people regardless of your position in line. My husband enjoyed his shrimp and crab Omelet, but he did mention that he couldn't really taste or see much crab, but it was tasty. The grits bowl has a lot of sautéed veggies so if that's not your thing say no veggies or light veggies. I had one of the fresh juices, the Ginger Sun, I believe that's the name. Oh my!!! We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!

I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.
