I went to get my eyes done and went back a week later and had my lips done also. The eyes did hurt some as expected but she pampered me to where it didn't hurt. They were numb along with my lips. There was hardly any swelling. Within a couple days my eyes were amazing and healed. On the other hand my lips took a little longer to heal but only felt as though they were chapped. A few days later, the color on the lips faded and pealed to where you really don't see any color and it makes you wonder where the color is. Be patient!!! The whole process takes about one month. Every few days you see the color coming back. Carolyn recommends to go back one month later to have a repeat done. The fee is all included! She is very professional and knowledgeable at what she does. She has had many years experience in the medical field in the surgical department and has a very sterile environment. Given the unresolved damage and lack of accountability, I am pursuing this matter further through small claims court. I made this appointment over a month in advance. If the stylist was overbooked or planning to work on multiple clients during a chemical service, I should have been informed ahead of time. I would have gladly rescheduled. During my appointment, my stylist, Casey, was working on another client at the same time--a client she appeared to know well--and was engaged in ongoing personal conversation while my hair was processing with bleach. My hair had already been processing for approximately one hour when Casey briefly came over to assess it and told me I needed more time. I expressed concern that my hair was already over-processing, but she dismissed my concern and said I was "fine." Shortly after, I went to the bathroom and saw that my hair had turned completely white, which immediately alarmed me. I returned to my chair, showed Casey, and told her I believed my hair was damaged. She continued to insist it was not. The owner was present, and I showed her my hair as well. The owner washed my hair out. Later, while I was finger-combing, hair came out in my fingers, which I showed her. During the discussion, I asked the owner to call the police. When the police arrived, the owner told them she did not know why I had been called and confirmed that I had not refused to pay, which was true. The police did not intervene. I was charged $233, which I paid in full, and I left the salon. Immediately afterward, I went to another professional salon, where I was told my hair is definitely damaged with noticeable breakage, consistent with over-processing. This experience was stressful, dismissive, and costly. I would strongly caution others--especially when receiving chemical services--to be very careful and to trust their instincts if something feels wrong.
