The last time she was far more preoccupied with whatever Tik Tok she was trying to record than she was with assisting me and my friend. In this economy, where gift shops are a dime a dozen, customer service is important. There is some cute stuff, but a lot of the items she sells in store you can find elsewhere for cheaper, and they claim it's all local artisans, but some of it is giving dropshipping. I will be going to Front & Company, or Makers, where 100% of the proceeds to go the maker, instead.

I looked around a bit to find a simple local gift for a friend's birthday and I found the perfect thing! I know he is a lunch box person, and I found this little cute compactable lunch box for him. And the amount of candles in this little shop was just abundant. I smelled all the candles that were there that day. I found a couple for myself at the same time so next time I can come back and buy some. But, I found the perfect ones for my friend~!! The amount of stuff and local created gifts are just amazing. Besides jewelry and some clothing items, there are small items for gifts, as well as things for the home. I have bought an Ellen mug here when it was on sale. There are also more kitchen stuff I am eyeing which I will be getting once I get my kitchen in order. The staff is usually very welcoming and does not follow you around or hover ceaselessly. I appreciate that as it allows me to just stop and think of the item and if it will suit my place.

There was a nice variety of merchandise: t-shirts, tote bags, magnets, backpacks, scarves, scrolls, and terra cotta warriors! We had already bought souvenirs from another store and didn't need any more. It was a pleasant environment and a great break from the light rain outside! Thank you!

With one hand on our champagne glasses and the other dipping crackers into delicious fruit compotes (that are also sold in the store) and cheeses, my sister and I made our way around the store mentally buying fairy-princess gear for the nieces, barbecue accessories for the dudes, and that retro-looking stationery with the naughty captions for ourselves. The store is now much more open in design, and while they've pared down the home decor stuff, they've brought in a lot more bags and costume jewellery and spa stuff, not to mention a lot of gifts for kids, which is important to indulgent auntie-types like me.

Since I knew it was in North Van, part of me always imagined it to be on the Lonsdale Quay and not in Deep Cove (I haven't been to the Cove in years, shame on me). Quel surprise to stumble across this amazing shop. The jewelry and accessories are gawk-worthy and the Goddess hand cremes transformed my stinky hiker self into a decadent-smelling diva. The store is beyond cute, you really must come. It's a girly place filled with fun gifts for self and others. Great place to swing by while in the Cove! Definitely not for the claustrophobic. I think a big chunk of the goods are used too. Just a heads up. Guessing they stock a lot of their inventory from garage sales or the like. I liken the experience to digging through an old school Asian family's storage area. Their goods are mediocre quality (think just slightly below Canadian Tire), but their pricing is also very low. If one is looking for Asian household items, stores like these really can't be beat. I was able to find what I needed (after trying and failing at several other local stores) and was pleasantly surprised. The place is almost like an Asian version of a dollar store. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Special mention. Appears to be a family business. Good to check out if one needs Asian specific items.

The shop looked interesting from the outside, so we told each other that we'd take a look after a dimsum breakfast... Interesting it was! Lots of various types of merchandise... From dishes and decor to incense and paper money to burn at gravesites, Fuling Gifts & Houseware was a fun shopping adventure! I found a hair towel for my niece for $1 (Canadian money). The man at the cash register was funny and nice. He joked around and suggested that we buy a couple more towels... haha!
