I visited this store for the first time last month and wasn't impressed. The prices were good, but the place had a smell (like new tires even in the food section) the other problem was the ligthing was very poor, it was difficult to see the products you wanted to purchase. when I looked up to the ceiling I noticed only 1/2 the light were on. It could be I was there on a slow day and they wanted to conserve energy, but some how I still feel like even with all the lights on it will still be dark. I will try it next time and see what happens. read more

Simple basic products with a clean aesthetic but at competitive prices. The real story here though is breakfast. It truly will be the best buy you will make in the Netherlands. All over the country, in every Hema store from 9-10 am, you can get breakfast for 1€. You honestly can't even get coffee for that anywhere else. We're not just talking about toast and coffee to call it a day. Your 1€ gets you a bacon and egg baguette, a croissant with jam, and a choice of coffee or tea.
