Walk-ins only, very clean shop with a comfortable waiting area and clean restroom. Malcom was very nice and I recommend coming here especially if you're getting your first tattoo. He was quick and gentle. I will say that if you're gonna go make you don't have anything planned directly after because there is a pretty decent wait time especially if theres a line ahead for tattoos. Worst tat experience ever. Arrived early as instructed. He was cursing up a storm bc his wife was having money issues in Florida. He did all the piercings before us which was fine but he didn't talk to us, he wasn't kind at all. We waited two hrs before he even started drawing out my son's tat. Had we not drove 3.5 hrs from Texas we would have left. He was a jerk to my son. It was first tat and he said "it's gonna hurt like hell. Don't move." Tat was twice the size than we thought it would be but he didn't ask questions or inquire. We even texted prior about those details. He said he would measure, he didn't. Didn't talk to my son at all throughout that tat except to say don't move and I don't take breaks unless a piercing comes in. Never engaged with my son at all even when he was finished he just got up and walked away. I asked him if he was going to instruct him on aftercare he said "I could but I'm not going to, I'll give him a card." Wth! A girl came in with a piercing gone wrong that he had done he was rude to her too. I get maybe he was having a bad day but no excuse for this level of disrespect. Very unprofessional. I was shocked bc my friend said she had a great experience. The shop was clean and that tat looks good but no way would i recommend or visit this shop again, ever. Needless to say, no tip, hopefully he got the message and if not this review should do it. read more

I went to Malcolm's for a nose piercing about 1.5 month ago. Now, I sit here writing this review with an infected nose piercing slathered in antibiotics due to Malcolm's harmful misinformation. All of my information comes from my doctor, other piercers, and people I know who have numerous piercings. This is my first piercing, so I was not educated on how to properly care for my piercing. I trusted Malcolm, the so called "professional" with "years of experience" to properly inform me how to take care of it so it would heal. 1st strike - I got it pierced in the week and wanted to change my jewelry on the weekend. Malcolm told me that was perfectly fine, and even gave me detailed instructions on how to do it. Since it was my first piercing, I was nervous. And it was still very sore. I searched the internet on how to change it and learned that you should NEVER change a new piercing because it will get infected. In fact, you shouldn't change it for at least 1-2 MONTHS! I called another piercer, and they confirmed that Malcolm totally lied to me about it being safe, or he was misinformed. Either way, I don't care. Malcolm should not be a piercer giving advice if his advice is widely known to be harmful. 2nd strike - He gave me a bottle of Dr. Pierce's Body Piercing Cleanser and told me to use it with a q-tip and clean my piercing area twice a day. Well, I just found out that one of the ingredients in this is Benzalkonium Chloride which is WAYYY to harsh for an open wound such as a piercing, and should only be used on an open wound to treat an infection, never to prevent one. On top of this, twice a day is waaay too much and q-tips should NEVER be used on nose piercings because the fibers may be caught and get trapped in the wound. This was all told me by my doctor. Also according to my doctor, in using it on my piercing, I essentially slowed down the healing process because it was not only killing bacteria but also healthy cells that promote healing. All while tiny bits of q-tip fibers I can't even see with my own eyes are getting caught by the piercing, trapped in the wound, and clogging the entire thing making a brewing infection worse. Benzalkonium Chloride is common in a lot of piercing cleansers from DECADES ago, but the industry as a whole has moved away from it because of the very reasons I presented. The fact that Malcolm is still telling people to use this stuff is horrendous. I found out from my doctor, but a few minutes of internet searching tells you the same exact thing. Do better Malcolm. 3rd strike - YOU'RE NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE WASHING IT! At most you should be "cleaning" it by having water run over it in the shower, maybe with anti-bacterial soap at most, and then leave it alone. If any bits of crusts show up (which is normal during healing process) then you may spray it with a wound saline spray to soften them, and they will fall off on their own. Washing it only irritates it and leads to infection! Malcolm, you presented yourself as very professional and friendly. You acted like you knew what you were doing, and said you've been piercing for years. I now know that way you presented yourself was not reality, and you have no idea about healthy and effective aftercare. For any of your clients who healed without any problems, it wasn't because you were correct, but because they healed in SPITE of your misinformation. From the clients you never heard from again, they probably couldn't trust you to give new advice after realizing how awful your advice was the first time. The piercing industry has changed, and with that has come new and better methods of keeping a piercing healthy. Malcolm, try learning what works and what doesn't, and works better than the things that work "okay". I admit I got the piercing at a good price, which should have tipped me off, but I can't help but feel Malcolm intentionally deceives his customers by presenting a clean shop and acting like a professional when he's the equivalent of a "historian" that only studies the history channel. read more

Accepts walkins but with that comes a wait, which I didn't mind the place is nice and well taken care of. He's really nice and easy going. Overall had a great experience 10/10 recommend, the tattoo he did for me turned out even better than the picture I showed him, absolutely love it. read more

Waited 6 hours and walked out with nothing. Two simple tattoos didn't get drawn up. He was nice at first and then became very rude after his equipment was faulty and a tattoo needed a slight adjustment. He kept putting off our work to do other walk ins. I suggest if you're getting a tattoo to not walk in the door, if you want a piercing you can be seen right away no matter how long others have been there. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would but since that isn't an option I will give one. My boyfriend is from Texas but was in Louisiana with his friend working on hurricane relief. It was a very memorable experience so he decided he wanted to get his first tattoo at this shop with his friend. When he called, Malcolm answered and said it would only be a 15-20 minute wait and that he was finishing up a tattoo on a girl and he would be ready for them then. My boyfriend and his friend show up only to wait an hour and half and the tattoo artist hadn't even started the tattoo on the girl. Growing impatient as they had about 7 hours left in their drive and it was already 4pm, my boyfriend was about to leave but then Malcolm said he was about to have him sit. After all this time waiting, a regular comes in and Malcolm starts to talk to this other client for about 15 minutes on ideas for a future tattoo for him -- all the meanwhile my boyfriend is STILL waiting.. at this point being 2 hours with only 1 other person waiting for a tattoo in the shop. FINALLY, Malcolm sits him in the chair and puts the stencil on. Then, proceeds to get on Facebook for about 15 minutes before starting the tattoo. At this point, my boyfriend was unable to get the tattoo he originally wanted and was only able to get the outline as he was on a huge time crunch to get back to Texas. Personally, I have never in my life experienced a tattoo artist with such lack of respect for their clientele and profession or sense of urgency. Malcolm has no respect for tattooing as an art and I like to end this with a message: I would ONLY come here if it were the last tattoo shop in Louisiana and probably not even then. Find a different shop that respects you as a client and values your time. read more
