I came in last Friday for dinner with my family and was sat immediately at a great table and was greeted immediately by our server Skylar. She was so nice and accommodating and we got our drinks and our food in a timely manner that wasn't rushed or took too long so it made the dining experience great. Overall pretty good and fun place. I am just here to mention one thing that struck me as odd and annoying. There is a $2.50 "sustainability charge" for the takeout/to go packaging because (according to the worker) Malibu has special regulations and guidelines for packaging that they have to follow-- which is annoying, but fine. As a longtime lover of the environment and someone who appreciates sustainability, I am fine with that (slightly ridiculous) charge. However, the packaging is seemingly (don't want to make false claims) made of cardboard and plastic which does not seem to be any different from other places who don't charge a fee. But regardless, the packaging says "please recycle" on it. My friend and I ate our food just right outside the restaurant to listen to the live music, so when we finished eating I was ready to properly throw away my "sustainable packaging." Clearly, this packaging was meant to be recycled and sustainable, so I searched all around me for a recycling bin only to find none nearby. Then, I went into the restaurant to ask if they could recycle their own packaging for me since I didn't see any recycling bins, but I was informed that even the restaurant doesn't have a place to recycle (slightly ironic). So, I walked to the grocery store nearby and asked those employees where I could recycle the packaging. They directed me towards a recycling bin outside the grocery store that was small and hidden. Point is, I personally feel like if a restaurant is going to charge me $2.50 for sustainability and packaging (shouldn't packaging be free of charge?) that they should actually make sure the packaging can be thrown into the RECYCLING bin because otherwise I am literally paying the restaurant to just add to the landfill -- so it SEEMS like there's a lack of true care either by the restaurant, the city of Malibu, or both. The packaging is literally just being thrown into the landfill because there is no place to recycle it -- not even in the actual restaurant. Therefore, it is no better than any other packaging since it ends up in the landfill like everything else. So I suggest, either don't charge me that dumb fee (the meal was already expensive enough), or stop the #fakesustainability and have some sort of message or sign that EXPLAINS how the packaging could be properly thrown out so it ACTUALLY is sustainable. I'd personally recommend starting with a giant arrow for recycling because I doubt anyone cares as much as I do to spend an extra 5-10 minutes to figure out where to properly throw away the packaging. Just left feeling frustrated at the fake sustainability. Please don't act like something you're not (a sustainable business). read more

Holy Crap!! Stumbled upon this gem by complete chance. And let me just say... one of the best and prettiest breweries I've ever been to. The waitress Skylar was AMAZING!! She recommended so much to us being our first time. I started with a sample of two beers Pacific Gold and Happy Days. For being someone who isn't a huge beer drinker both of these were absolutely fantastic and fit the ambiance. We sat outside where you could hear the ocean and feel the sun. Super fun and chill place. We then ordered the smash burger, hot wings, and kids macaroni. All the food was unbelievably good. I will definitely make this a common stop. And if you want a good day trip and happen to be in the area please stop by and give this restaurant a chance. The whole shopping mall/area it's in is adorable. You are also probably within 5 minutes of driving to the beach. Make sure to ask for a cold 6 pack to go and see if you could seated in Skylars area!! You will not be disappointed. read more

NOT GOOD. The beer isn't good and the food isn't good. The fish tacos were cold. The shishito peppers were not even cooked. The "taco" salad was dreadful. And the charcuterie plate looked like the mortadella was purchased at Ralphs market. Such a shame because making decent food isn't that difficult. But making crappy food and crappy beer takes effort.
