They have the best omelettes in town! I ordered the Monetary Omelette that came with 4 strips of bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, and avocado slices on top. It was awesome! Light, fluffy, very tasty, and filling. The red potatoes that came with it were also VERY good. Cooked to perfection. This is a family run place that has been open since about February. Give them a shot! They deserve your business. Friendly and courteous staff. They have a small lunch buffet that looked good as well. I came for a late lunch following my check-in at the Marriott nearby. I had maybe one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a long time. The combo of spinach, avocado, tomato with the fried egg/bacon/cheese was really good. I had it as a to-go order and it was still perfectly hot when I ate it about 7 min later. The red potato home fries were good too. I'd go back again to try an omelet. read more

I had a yen for late breakfast today after a long meeting with a client, and stumbled across Malibu Cafe here on Yelp. The menu looked good and the reviews were all good so two of us headed on over to Louisiana Street in downtown LR. What a sweet surprise! The omelets are well made and delicious (Mardi Gras for me and Monterrey for my companion). The pan fried potatoes are just right. And we shared a waffle (yum) served crispy like I ordered it. Now I'm looking forward to coming back for burritos and the tamales! The coffee is good and a little different, served with a pinch of cinnamon. I don't know where they source the bean but I like what they do with it. This is a breakfast, lunch and early dinner place (closes at 7pm) so come early and bring an appetite. read more

We passed through Arkansas on our way to Indiana, the food here was OUTSTANDING! It's a little hole in the wall but usually those are the best. I got the chorizo & huevos with beans + some pancakes & my partner got the 3 slice bacon & eggs. We also got a hot chocolate which was the best I have ever had, and my partner got the all natural orange juice (delicious). I would say I'm very picky with food and this place checked everything on my list. Everyone was very nice, as usual everyone is short staffed so the wait was a while but definitely worth it! I wish I had photos of my delicious plate (French toast w/2 eggs & red skinned potatoes) as well as my sons cute Mickey pancakes w/potatoes! All of the orders are cooked fresh after you place your order. There's a lot of space for you to sit, wait & socially distance while you wait for your order. My family and I chose to dine in. I'm so glad we did because once I finished my breakfast I truly considered reordering my entire meal over it was just that tasty! Although, I didn't get the full meal I did order a la carte potatoes to go. My little men enjoyed their shared breakfast as well one couldn't keep his hands off the pancake while the other was shoving potatoes into his mouth and then they switch pancakes for potatoes and vice versa. What a joy it was to see my boys enjoy their meal as I did. I wanted to go back today but found that they are closed on Sunday's. The pain I felt when I seen that. This hidden gem has definitely been added to my memory bank and places to visit when I come back to my hometown. I've already told my sisters and family to stop by for a delicious breakfast or lunch. Great local, fresh food. Nice people. Very willing to work with you to accommodate requests. For instance I, sadly can't have fries or rice and beans, but they are happy to sub a salad or veggies. So far have had turkey burger (house made) and grilled talipia tacos with crispy corn shells, which I prefer, they are happy to sub if it's not your fav. Give them a try. Coffee was hot, and our breakfast was good. Unfortunately, to no fault of our server, when we used the ketchup, it "exploded" and splattered all over my husbands white shirt, our table, the floor, even across the table on me. Our server brought more napkins, but nothing more. An apology was given but would have expected a little more-assistance in cleaning up our table with a wash cloth, comped meal. Wonderful family owned and operated cafe with simple fare in the heart of burgeoning downtown Little Rock. Everything is excellent: omelettes, burgers, salads. Especially noteworthy is the terrific authentic Mexican food. We were visiting from New York City and have almost nothing equal to this in quality and cost back home. There are many hotels in the vicinity and you will do yourself a favor by avoiding terrible, overpriced hotel food and going to this place. read more

When Malibu took over this spot I was skeptical, but after about 8 different meals, I have to say; this place is great. The staff is extremely consistently friendly, always ready to serve and very helpful. The menu is diverse. Chicken wings, burgers, pork chops, sandwiches, salads, tacos, and all day breakfast foods to name a few. I had the Monterey Chicken sandwich and it was served in a hot soft hoagie roll, fresh spring mix instead of boring iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, homemade dressing and cheese. They even brought out a trial of a homemade hot sauce that was killer! For under 10 bucks I got a large tasty homemade meal. Ask about their frequent diners card, after 5 meals you get a 9 dollar voucher which basically a free meal. My only complaint is for some reason there is only 2 or 3 napkins per table. With some food deep fried or dripping in sauce, a napkin dispenser would make much more sense. Still, for the money, Malibu delivers. All in all, give this place a shot if you're in the area! read more

Visiting town for the day and decided to try Malibu Cafe for breakfast. It really embodies the family owned restaurant atmosphere and serves all homemade food. I was particularly impressed with what they were doing in response to COVID with everyone wearing masks properly and gloves when serving food. I got an omelette and it was one of the best I've ever had. They were also very open to accommodations with food allergies and requests. Would recommend to anyone in the area. read more
