Went in March so the place wasn't that decorated but the lines for go-karts and mini-golf were near non existent. Great place, had a Groupon so it was pretty worth it. When its like 205 degrees out there, the goal is going to be a lot tougher so that's my bad on that! Located off I-85 between Jimmy Carter & Indian trail lies this establishment. Has it's own private lot - free. Cool...Check! When you first walk in, you see the water bumper carts/tubes or whatever its called to the right. One patch of water looks like the North Atlantic Ocean (dirty) and another patch looks like the South Pacific Ocean (clean). When you walk through the door, the arcade area is not bad. Looks like they stole the Dave & Buster games and put it into a smaller/compact room. Games like Deal or No Deal, your traditional shoot em up arcade games, Air Hockey (that's my isshhhh right there... who wants some?) and many more! They have a cafeteria style for food. I didn't try that so no feedback on that. The main attractions there is: Minature Golf, Go Karts, Batting Cage, Water Bumper cars and the Grand Prix. The Mini Golf has three different courses. Not bad. Definitely bring a partner or go with a group to get the most fun out of it. The Go Karts were a major disappointment. Totally dominated by kids. Nothing against the kids or anything but it isn't competitive at all. The track is so-so. Expectations was let down. The Grand Prix probably was the biggest let down as the cars are super slow and it was the most expensive activity on the property. The costs overall were fine. Great for the family, great to bring the kids between ages (7-15), cool for date night for someone who is into activities, being active. Don't bring the bougie girlfriend if you a dude and if you're a competitive female - do not bring a guy who isn't ready to put in work. I say go, enjoy, have fun, make the most of it. Immediately following our Valentine's Day birthday brunch, we had some time to kill. We joined our extended in-law-family for some fun (plus they had coupons for us to utilize). We haven't done anything like this as a family since moving to GA and was excited about the cost being more affordable than when we were considering another local race track outing awhile back (Andretti's). From the parking lot vantage it looked like it was going to be loads of fun. We have all teenagers (and a nearing-permit-age son itching to drive) so we figured they would all get a kick out of being able to drive go-carts! Once on the inside, we determined that our youngest teen would be able to drive alone (she is petite, but met height requirements), we quickly got my son in line to hold our space. Speaking of the line. The set-up was a tight-fitting maze. It was one way in and you're stuck until you reach the cashier (sure you could excuse yourself out, but there was hardly any space to maneuver past other patrons). My husband ended up waiting near the opening where customers exit until my son reached the front so that he could conduct payment. Meanwhile me and my daughters scoped out the amenities (arcade games, rest rooms, seating area, concession menu, etc.) and it proved to leave a lot to be desired. There was a crowd inside to boot. I was disappointed there was no old school arcade games--Pacman/Ms., Galaga (D&B's has them). The only old school thing I could readily identify with was the loan air hockey table in the center of all the ruckus. We ended up getting "unlimited bands" which entitled us to track rides as much as we liked. But wait! The line for go karts was so long that my patience only allowed me to wait it out once. The cold outside was a force to be reckoned with! I wasn't interested in the bumper boats (in practically freezing cold weather). I wasn't interested in miniature golf or the batting cages (both had minimal wait though). The property would have been better suited if they would have had more than one outdoor track. One poster noted that it was "old and outdated" and I would agree! There was a defunct pay station outside, in the area where all outdoor activities took place (which would lend itself to less crowding in the inside pay station). Thankfully, we got our bands for a discount or I would have been disappointed at what we got for our money. However, a bright side was that we purchased at cost an additional 4-ride band (due to not having enough coupon deals) for our oldest daughter. The cashier understood that we weren't sure if she would be able to utilize it, but because the line was so backed up, and we already paid for it to save time, he offered us the option to save the stub and come back for a refund if necessary. After watching people on the track not (!) adhere to the signs about NO BUMPING other karts, we decided that our oldest daughter was in no condition to take any chances riding (she hadn't quite reached her six weeks post operation point). Since our coupon deal came with tokens, she willingly stayed inside the arcade area during our epic wait for one kart ride. Before leaving, we were able to receive a cash refund (even though my husband paid with his debit card) on the extra band we purchased. Malibu Grand Prix isn't a convenient location for us to venture to regularly, nor will we ever want to again. The traffic in this part of Atlanta, on a Saturday, is a monster of a ride in and of itself. I would not recommend going here ever. read more

On a random Sunday evening, I ended up playing a round of miniature golf and some arcade games. Overall, the purpose of the place was achieved...play games, have a good time. But as a OCD freak like me, this place needs to be severely updated (dated decor, some arcade games of poor quality/didn't work) and wiped down from top down, left right with the strongest sanitizer product known to man, or unknown b/c its still being tested by the government. Fun way to fill your afternoon and be a kid again. The go-karts are pretty exciting, there's two miniature golf courses to choose from (NY and LA), and the bumper boats will get you WET! Leave your white T's at home, there's kids around. There's also a batting cage and a larger and faster go-kart track if you feel the need for speed, or if you simply wake up and piss excellence in the mornings (trademark of Ricky Bobby, Inc) and want to show off your skills. My visit took place on a Sunday evening, which is generally slow, but wasn't the case on this particular visit (due to GCPS's winter break). I was accompanied by my husband, two kids and teenage sister in law. We initially went in to play a round of put-put, but decided to give the go-karts a run for old times sake. These were fun (though not as fast as I remember).The wait was FAR too long (over 20 mins) for a five minute go round. My daughter did not meet the 40 inch driver requirement, so she had to ride as a passenger with me. This was not a problem for either of us, but there are only 2 cars available for passenger riding and they are a lot slower than the single seat cars which was kind of disappointing. Miniature gulf wasn't too bad. It was the kids' first time and they really enjoyed it. I always enjoy a good game of put-put, but I did notice a few things that should be addressed. To begin with, the golf clubs were worn. The color on most of them was faded and they didn't feel clean. The green carpet/flooring throughout the course was saturated with water, so there was a swishing sound whenever a step was taken. The bodies of water surrounding the course were DISGUSTING! There were bubbles formed throughout and a not so pleasant smell. The golf balls became nasty toward the end of course due to the mud that covered parts of the ground/flooring. Customer service here is not the best. The place is pretty much run by teens. They weren't rude, but there was a lot of horsing around. Also, they don't enforce the rules, nor do they pay much attention to what's going on. While waiting in line for the go-karts, several people skipped the line, also I witnessed several women/girls with long hair that was not tucked away, and one little boy who was wearing sandals. None of these incidents were handled by the staff. Closing thoughts: this is a good place to spend some good ol' quality time with fam. There's food, games, prizes and lots of opportunity for fun. You don't have to spend a ton of money and wearing sweats is perfectly fine. I'll definitely be returning as Malibu holds a lot of memories for me, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. I used to go to this place as a little kid all of the time, I had such GREAT memories and I came for the first time in 10 years and was SO disappointed. From the staff not acknowledgement as a paying customer to the kids running around bare foot to the improper use of the facility during my mini golfing experience. Don't get me wrong, some parents just needed to keep a closer eye on their children. This place is a joke! Don't waste your money! They have one go cart track and one bumper boat pool. They both cost $7 per turn! The bumper boats sit in maybe two feet of water and don't actually move fast enough to have fun "bumping" into each other. They more float towards each other and touch. The entire bumper boat "pool" is smaller than the average sized above ground swimming pool. Imagine putting 5-8 boats in that! They have rules, but do not apply them to everyone equally. Some girls were actually stopped on the track and told to put their hair up, while others were allowed to leave their hair blowing in the wind. My daughter rode once, waited in a 30 minute line to ride again, only to be kicked off because of her shoes. They were close toed(a requirement), Velcro strapped shoes. I still can't figure out what was wrong with them, but others were riding with sandals. Pirates cove costs $10. A fee that is required, even if you are a parent wanting only to keep an eye on your children. You heard me right. They will charge you $10 to sit in a chair and watch! Probably the most low class move to make a buck that I have ever heard. All I can say is my kids seemed to enjoy it for a time. I didn't pay to get close enough to see. I can say that they had just as much fun in the free play fountain at a local park. Any of the good games in the arcade cost 4 tokens each. The token machines don't work most of the time. I was amused by the line of adults fighting with dollar bills that kept being spit back out at them. And the games eat half of your tokens anyway without ever letting you play. We did not play mini golf. The tickets came with the package we bought, but the course didn't look to be worth the time. Overall, they charge high budget prices for a very low budget experience. Malibu Grand Prix is a fun place to spend some time on the weekend. They have an arcade, 2 go-kart tracks, bumper boats, 2 mini-golf courses, a batting cage and an arcade. My girlfriend and I purchased the wristband for unlimited go-kart, mini-golf, and bumper boat for $25, Right after we purchased the wristband we realized that the bumper boats were not available until March 1. Buyer beware! The mini-golf course was entertaining but not amazing. Some of the holes could use some touch up cleaning and paining. The go-karts were fun because we got to act like kids again. When we arrived there was a chaperoned group of 100+ kids that made for long wait times. Once they left, we could ride the go-karts until we got bored. #5 is the fastest go-kart. The main track it sort of small and boring once you do a few laps. The Grand Prix course was not opened. I am not sure why. The arcade was great because the games are inexpensive. 1 token is 25 cents and that is what most of the games cost. Unfortunately some go the arcade game are outdated, but I guess you get what you pay for. The batting cage is extra, but it will be closed when there is rain, like the day we were there. read more

The reviews had us worried, BUT we had a great time! We went to celebrate Father's Day using the BOGO deal online. We arrived when they opened at 11, played a round of mini golf and were first in line when the karts opened at noon. After a couple rounds of karting, we took a spin in the bumper boats and then headed to Buccaneer Cove where we were able to snag chairs under a big umbrella. We ate lunch from the food court while lounging by the water playground. The kids (ages 12 & 9) burned a million calories doing the water slides over & over. Here's the key...go when they open. By the time we left at 4, it was crowded and the line for karting was super long. The water area had also gotten pretty busy. Is it old? Yeah. Is the mini golf course looking a little tired? You bet. But having read other reviews we were prepared for all that. For karting, you'd be better off going to K1, Andretti, or Slingshot. If you are thinking of doing some batting in the cages, consider bringing your own helmet as the "community helmet" pile was a little scary looking. For a better water park go to Lake Lanier Islands. However, if you want to experience a mediocre version of all these things, Malibu has you covered. Perhaps with more aggressive & attentive management, Malibu could make people really want to return. Wrong Decision - Birthday Party. So we had a birthday party booked 3-4 weeks in advance but on the day of the birthday there was NO RECORD of the party. The guests started pouring in and the "So called Manager" was difficult to deal with. He kept going in the back and would not come out to help when there were tables not set and nothing was ready. Tried the arcade at Malibu on 8/31/2014. It's okay. Now, I love arcades... unfortunately, they're still a dying breed here in America. The games are primative, but some are still fun to play. Most of the games worked okay, some had issues and were barely playable. First of all, I love how most of the older arcade games only take 1 token, and for $10 you get 45 tokens (115 for $20 I think). That's great! You play what you pay for! Even bigger games like Sega's Harley-Davidson sim, 'Manx TT Super Bike' and 'Sega Super GT' (Scud Race) take 1 token. Shooting games like 'Time Crisis 3' and 'The House of the Dead 2' only took 1 token. There was also a few fighting games like the 'Marvel vs Capcom' games, you guessed it; they took 1 token too! Now, let's talk about the games. The Harley-Davidson machine sucked! It had severe graphics issues; I could barely see my bike and where I was driving. Manx TT worked good, although the sound was low. MvC2 wasn't bad, I played some of that with the character on my avatar (B.B. Hood), plus it had all 56 characters unlocked! Then I stormed off to the Sega shooting games, which were 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' and 'The House of the Dead 2'. Lost World's guns were in terrible condition and off-center, but the House of the Dead was a bit better. The value at this arcade is great, but some games need to be fixed up! Waiting in line for 1.5 hours at a time for the go cart is completely unacceptable! They only had TWO double-seater go-carts going at a time... Definitely not enough. Didn't realize that the bumper boats were closed from November til March. Why not put up a sign and warn us BEFORE we purchase the day pass? They should come up with a more efficient method to wait in line for the go carts - maybe some kind if ticketing system. I was lucky enough to get some free tickets to the grand opening of the Buccaneer Cove. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My son had a blast! They had big water slides for the older kids that he actually went down once and he is a very short 5-year-old. He thoroughly enjoyed the kiddie water slides and we had to pry him away from it to go home. To get to the rBuccaneer Cove which was in the back of the Malibu Express you will pass the kids in a small pool area. The bumper boats were the perfect size to be safe, they had kids racing on go-karts, others playing on the putt-putt golf mini course, softball and baseball batting cages, the inside was a very interesting interactive arcade, there was a big food court for eating where we got a kids meal for $5.99 and had a good variety of food choices for the children to enjoy. The inside bathroom we used was clean and they had a good amount of stalls to accommodate the children. There was plenty staff everywhere in the Buccaneer Cove area to help control the children. There were many lounge chairs for parents to sit by and watch the children squeal with delight as well as cabanas that could be rented. There also was a pad area for smaller kids to enjoy where the water was sprouting up from the ground and a convenient bathroom right by it. This Buccaneer Cove was well worth the $9.99 they were charging. This time was free but next time it would definitely be worth the price for my son to enjoy. My spouse & I go to Malibu to play their miniature golf course (one of two courses available) every Halloween at dusk. The course, grounds, and arcade are always spotless and the cashier / park crew are cordial, polite, friendly, and full of smiles, even helpful if prompted. We particularly enjoyed this year's (2018) Halloween decorations on the miniature golf course, which typically aren't themed this time of year. I would give this 2.5 stars, but I'll round up due to the fact INITIAL D IS NEXT TO DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION. However, the left side player for Initial D gets stuck with a broken steering wheel that chooses things on its own, and the player on the right for DDR has a fickle left and down arrow. I can even go on to the Super GT game where the left player had better have some damn long legs to be able to play comfortably. Serious maintenance needed. I would maybe come back to play games since they do this unlimited thing. My friend and I came with passes for go karts and golf for $10 from Half off Depot. On Planet Are-You-Kidding-Me these things are apparently $25. Oh, and the stuff wasn't even open until 3, defeating the purpose of us going there while school was in, but it was still good fun. We didn't get there until a little after 1:30, so we decided to definitely take advantage of a $5 upgrade for arcade games, I think it is $10 to do this without that pass. This doesn't include the games that give you tickets, but now you can shoot things, ride motorcycles, and dance for way less. I loved that part. I even got to ride a TT motorcycle...totally sucked at that, but I did kick some whiny anime kid's ass with my STi in Initial D without touching the brake pedal. Yeah. The mini golf was alright, I couldn't be bothered to finish because there was no bloody shade anywhere to be found. The bumper boats had nobody there, and I was seriously wanting to get my ass on one of those, but that didn't happen. And then those go karts? Still mad I had to deal with grandpa driving a kid around on the go kart track, blatantly blocking...sorry I take my go karting a bit more like Ricky Bobby...I wanna go fast, okay? I can't go fast when you move to the middle when you see me, old man. I crave driving the Grand Prix karts I saw in the back though...they looked like glorious fake 70s Le Mans cars. The gokart course was very boring too. It wasn't anything big. It was really hot today, so wear something light when you play the put-put. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. A couple of my friends and I went there to kill some time. Pulling into the parking lot we were already skeptical, and after seeing the prices we should have just turned around. It needs a big face lift just to get it looking decent, the paints chipping, the water's nasty, the lights are broken, and the big Malibu sign is missing letters and pieces. The staff is absolutely terrible, we waited ten minutes just trying to find someone to get our tickets for the rides and whatnot, and once she came out she was very rude to us. Once you get out to the go carts and bumper boats, there's a pair of people working both of them, but they're too busy talking to eachother to help you with anything. The go carts break at least once every time you go ride them and then you have to wait for one of the staff members to walk over and help you. Don't go. This place sucks. read more

There were kids on the go karts that were not the required height and others driving wildly and bumping others and nothing was said. Also needs some basic maintenance liking cleaning up, painting, trash removal, etc. On the day we were there they had multiple groups - one with 80+ and two more with 30+, they are not staffed nor is the park large enough to handle crowds - especially kids under 13 - of this size. Could process the go karts with loading one set then while that set is on the track get the next group ready and therefore faster turns and shorter lines. read more

I have to agree with a lot of people (since I was behind the scenes everyday) and say that their prices are really ridiculous. I went there a couple days ago and it looks as if they jacked their prices...AGAIN! HR is money hungry. The staff when I went this recent time was rude and acted as if they hated their job. Half their games were down & only had one game room attendant on the floor so it goes slower to get something fixed. This place is really outdated, still. Can't believe it hasn't been renovated yet after all these years. I must defend this place and say that Mountasia (their sister park in Marietta) is a hell of a lot worse than Malibu Grand Prix. Malibu is brand new compared to them. Please watch out, though. Their shoe & height policy is no joke & very strict. CLOSED TOE or you will NOT be riding those go-karts. Do not have a birthday party here if you value customer service, quality and getting what yo pay for. I had my daughter's 5th birthday there last night and the dropped her cake. Thank God it was an Ice Cream cake (I later found out it was just layered ice cream covered in frosting, but that's for another review) and was frozen. They ruined the image/words though. Reluctantly they took the cost of the cake out of my party price. One hour is not long enough in the party room. My party coordinator was very nice, but the manager had an attitude problem and rubbed me the wrong way. We only had 5 kids in the party; they got to ride the bumper boats once, the two oldest rode the race cars once (after standing in line for at least 30 min), and the youngest ones played golf (by themselves because no one was working in the area). In fact, before they rode the boats, they had to find someone to let them onto them, because it wasn't staffed. I was not impressed and was not happy, but the saving grace for them was the kids (aged 4-10) all had fun. Malibu Grand Prix in Norcross, GA is by far the worst family entertainment center I have ever been to. That's saying a lot because after 10+ years of being a nanny and now a mom of 4, I've seen my fair share of these places. From the moment we walked in I was a little concerned with the overall upkeep, but I figured it was summer and they were getting a lot of business and might be having a hard time keeping up. Well it didn't take long to figure out that my benefit of the doubt may have been very generous. Below is a list of issues we encountered: * Pretty much dirty everywhere. Patrons evidently had no issue throwing trash on the ground and the staff was in no hurry to pick it up. * The mini golf course had a theme but it was obvious nothing had been painted or spruced up in many years. Both courses were just "dull". * There was trash on the putting greens. Worse than that, a few flood lights were busted and the remains of one of them were still on the putting green. * There were only two functioning bumper boats. What fun is that?? * The arcade was having an all you can play on non-ticket games if you purchased a wrist band. However, we had tokens and were exiled to the outer ring of games. This would have been tolerable if at least half of the games available to us worked. * Then we get to the go carts. This was worst part of our experience for a few reasons. The crowd we ended up on the track with was horribly rude, which I know was not the management or staff's fault, but the way they handled the issues was. My 8 year old was yelled at by an attendant for bumping a car that was cutting across the track from side to side in an attempt to keep anyone from passing. Bumping isn't permitted but accidents can't be avoided with that sort of behavior but fine, he broke the rule. My problem came when both myself and my partner were bumped at different times by this same group of teens in what seemed like a very intentional manner and the staff laughed rather than reprimanding them. My partner was hit so hard that her car was turned around. We decided to ask to speak to the manager on duty because the teenage staff was so unfair and amused by the situation. That's when we experienced the biggest issue in my opinion. Come to find out, the "manager on duty" couldn't have been much older than a teenager herself. She seemed to have a hard time understanding what our issue was but finally decided to go speak with her staff that was working the go cart track. That talk turned into a giggle fest. Once she was done chatting with her staff, she came over and asked if "well do you want to ride again?" At that point we were done and honestly didn't feel like the situation was going to improve so we left. I was going to contact their corporate office but Palace Entertainment only publishes their street address in the contact info on their corporate site. No email address and no phone number. Somehow I am not surprised with the condition of their facilities. I will do further research to track down more direct contact information later today. Bottom line.....SKIP IT!!! read more

Old, run down and in need of some major updates. The place is dirty and needs better upkeep. Lines are very long for go carts and bumper boats because several of the cars and boats don't work. Several arcade games don't work either. Mini golf is just ok but needs upkeep too. Wont be going back. read more

This is the worst Malibu because the lines are longgg and the people are really disrespectful and doesn't have any tolerance.
