This restaurant became the reason I had to book a few more nights in Valencia, and I ended up planning my entire day around my "lunch" schedule here based on when I could get reservations.
The food is incredible. Local dishes cooked with traditional recipes, served up with a modern twist and presentation. For ~14 euro on weekdays (~20 weekends), you get a four course meal, bread, wine and coffee included. Starting with an amuse bouche, appetizer, a starchy paella/rice/noodle dish, a meaty/fish main, and then a beautiful selection of desserts. The food is rich and flavorful, and if you luckily show up on a day with the traditional "soupy rice"... let me just mention you can order an additional portion for about 4 euro. It's worth it, and I regret not taking more to-go. The menu is set daily, though you usually have 1-2 options for each item.
They're also amazing at working with dietary restrictions. Gluten-free was not a problem (they even have a delicious GF mini-baguette, if you have room in your tummy for it), and they also accommodate for dairy free (which they thought I was because I asked for nut-milk in my cafe con leche).
Located in a very neighborhoody area a small distance away from the city center, this gem is only open for lunch daily, and after such an amazing (and amazingly large) feast, you'll be full till the next morning.
Reservations definitely recommended, though I found it easiest if you make the reservation near their closing time, around 3:30pm.
Service is incredibly friendly, and everyone is so nice here. There's one guy working here that speaks English, so if your Spanish is like mine (non-existent...), he's usually there on the week days if you call to make a reservation. read more
