Chicken pad Thai and beef Spicy Fried Rice
Rebekah H.

Mama Made us located inside the Liberty Public Market. I love Thai food so I was very excited to come and try it! It's a small family owned spot, and food is made fresh upon ordering. My food was ready after about ten minutes. I got the Pad Thai with chicken, and oh I loved it! It was beautifully flavored and tasted so fresh! It was a good portion for me as well. My husband ordered the spicy fried rice with beef, and also really enjoyed it! I think we've found one of our new favorite Thai food spots!

Thai Fried Rice with chicken

Went to Liberty Station on a Saturday and had a craving for some Thai Food so went to Mama Made. Woman working the counter was super nice and when I ordered the fried rice I asked if she preferred the chicken or beef. She said she liked both but suggested the chicken. I went with her advice. Was VERY busy, but food didn't take too long. Food was super warm which was nice, but was kinda surprised at how bland the food was. The chicken had no flavor and there were a lot of bright white pieces that didn't have cook marks on them. I stuck to the cooked pieces and took a picture. They offer soy sauce and hot sauce so could flavor it up. I believe their noodle dishes are better and that is what most patrons were ordering so would stick to that.

Pad see ew with beef

Came here on a weekend and it was pretty packed. I was feeling some Thai food and this place was available. Located in the center of liberty public market they have great Thai food. I normally stick with what I like so I usually go for the pad see ew. Theirs is very tasty and it comes with some vegetables as well. Service was okay, the guy at the counter wasnt super friendly but that didn't deter me from getting the food. Good spot for Thai food.

I've been craving for pad see ew for a while and since I was here with my friends I decided to get dinner at the Liberty Station. I came in probably around 7 or 7:30 on a Saturday evening. There wasn't a line to order but there was a line to pick up. I ordered the Pad See Ew with Chicken ($13) and I probably waited about 15-20 minutes for my order. The station can get really crowded so it can be a bit cramped at the counter between the people who are waiting for their orders and those who are just trying to pass by the aisle. It was a decent amount of food since I was able to split it into two meals. I wish that there was a bit more seasoning on it though because I thought that the noodles were a bit bland and the chicken was dry. I definitely needed some water to pair with it. They had some packets of chili sauce on the side which helped add that kick of spice and flavor to it though. They did have a good mix of protein, vegetables, and noodles in the plate so there wasn't too much of a certain ingredient over the others. Overall I wasn't really impressed with the pad see ew I got here. If I'm back at the Liberty station I don't think that I will be getting Thai food from here again. It didn't even satisfy my craving for me and I'm left still wanting some more pad see ew.

Taro boba tea and Pad See Ew Noodle
Jana N.

This is probably one of my go-to spots in Liberty Station and have had a positive experience each time I've ordered from here. I usually stick to the pad see ew and this trip was no exception. I find that the prices here are decent for a good amount of food, they are relatively quick and they have a dairy-free taro boba tea option. Two things I do wish is: number one, that there was a spice leave to choose from, such as 1 or 2 stars. The only option is to add sriracha or other hot sauces. Number two, they would provide a pager thing so that you could walk around or find a seat while waiting for your food. Right now they only give you a number and the pick up area is rather narrow and crowded. Overall a good pick in my opinion.

The BEST! both are about $14 each

I love this place! I got their pad see eww and basil fried rice. Perfect texture, right amount of spice. They do not have prik nim pla but have the generic hot sauce packet. yuck. Anyhow I was able to enjoy their dishes without any additional condiments. If I'm a local this would be my weekly must have dish! I placed the order and in 5 minutes the food was ready to be picked up. There were bar seats around this cafe so was able to devour the food while it was fresh.

I chose Mama Made because it's conveniently located across from Pasta Design where my daughter ordered her lunch. I chose Pad Thai with shrimp, medium heat. It took about 10 minutes to prepare. It came out steaming hot and cooked well (not overly wet and runny). The portion was generous with just enough shrimp. This is my usual starting point before trying other dishes. It was quite good and priced reasonably for food hall dining. I'll try other dishes the next time we're in the area.

Found some metal pieces in my Pad Thai. Almost choked on one of the pieces while eating and spit it out to my surprise it was a little metal piece and then looked into the Pad Thai I found an other piece. Really disappointed.

I purchased a mixed vegetable meal with Shrimp yesterday, October 28th and the cashier was Alisa. The time was 5:26pm and I asked for shrimp and I asked if they were going to be fried. I mentioned I wanted shrimp a couple times. I get home and I look at my meal and I was charged for Shrimp and mixed vegetables but I have only mixed vegetables with no shrimp.

Chicken wings, appetizer sampler, and pad see ew with tofu
Dio A.

I was looking forward for my food as the look delicious on pictures. Much to my disappointment, it wasn't exactly what I imagined the food to be. I had the chicken wings, and they were hard as if they have been sitting for a while. And tasted pretty bland and hardly any flavor. They provided some sauce, maybe soy sauce, but my first bite of it was so bad, any sauce would not have changed my first impression. I also ordered the Appetizer Sampler and it was no different. The only thjng l was able to eat was the coconut shrimp . I ordered the Pad See Ew for my main dish, with tofu. This one is not bad, but still lacking some flavor. So my overall impression of their food was mediocre. Also, for a to go order, I would expect some napkins and utensils in the bag, but there were none of that. I definitely don't recommend this place.

Woon Sen Noodle
Wanting H.

Mama Made is a Thai restaurant inside the Liberty Station Public Market. They have been there since the inception of the public market. Honestly, it's a little bit hard to find them because their names and menu are slightly harder to see compared to other stores. I visited them a few times, but most recently I tried their woo Sen noodles. It's rare to find stir fried woo Sen noodles in a Thai restaurant. I ordered it with tofu. Although the dish looks simple, it was delicious! I remembered their pad see ew was pretty salty, but the woo Sen noodles were fine. I liked it and will definitely come back for it again. Don't overlook this little Thai restaurant inside the market. The owner may want to upgrade their menu and have some pictures or list out their popular items to make them more visible to the browsing customers.

My pad Thai was really bad. The noodles were over cooked to the point of mush. Who does that? It was gravely disappointing.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience dining here with my family…read more The evening started off great. The staff was friendly when we arrived, we were seated quickly, received our drinks promptly, and our food came out fast. The music was enjoyable, the ambiance was nice, and the restaurant had a modern, welcoming feel. Most importantly, the food was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious, and my kids couldn't stop talking about the crispy pork belly. Honestly, the food itself was 5-star quality. The issue was what happened as the restaurant approached closing time. About 10-15 minutes after we started eating, a staff member brought our check and asked us to pay even though we were still waiting on two mango sticky rice desserts that had not yet been served. I politely explained that we hadn't received all of our food yet, so it didn't make sense to close out the bill. The desserts were brought out shortly afterward. A different employee then returned and again asked us to close out the check, assuring us that we could continue eating while they finished closing. Although I was hesitant, I paid and explained that I would leave a cash tip after we finished since we were still dining. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service noticeably changed. No one checked on our table, our water glasses were never refilled, and the staff seemed focused on cleaning around us. The booth behind us was being cleaned very loudly while we were still trying to enjoy our meal. It made us feel rushed and unwelcome, and honestly took away from an otherwise great dinner. When I asked for containers for our leftovers, the interaction felt cold and standoffish compared to the friendly service we received earlier in the evening. My suggestion would be that if the restaurant is close to closing and doesn't want guests dining in, they should clearly communicate that and switch to takeout only. The food was genuinely delicious, and I would come back again--but not near closing time. Great food, disappointing end to the evening.

We were lucky and were able to grab the spot right out front. For drinks we each ordered a cocktail. It did take a bit for them to come out but once they did you can tell time and effort were put into making them. They were beautiful and all tasted great. We ordered 4 dishes to share, the wasabi scallop ceviche, crispy baby crab, braised beef panang, and crab fried rice. The ceviche was definitely one of my favorites. Super flavorful, fresh, with the perfect amount of wasabi. The crispy baby crab was savory and easy to eat, especially since you're eating the whole crab, shell and all. The curry in the braised beef panang was so addicting, I couldn't stop eating it. The crab fried rice was tasty and filling. For dessert we got the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were fresh and sweet. Overall pretty standard but still yummy. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. All the food came out in the timely manner. The vibe of the restaurant is casual but can be a little dressy for a nice date. Overall I definitely recommend a try here. I went with one of my girlfriends tonight at about 5:30 PM. We were quickly seated. I ordered a mango lemonade, which came out quite fast and was beautiful. It tasted pretty good too. I asked the server for recommendations on the menu, but she seemed startled by my question, like she was not used to giving recommendations. The two items that she did recommend didn't really sound appealing so I went with Pad See Ew with mock duck. That's one of my go to dishes at a Thai restaurant. I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. I would be open to trying it again just because I've heard so many good things that I can't believe this is their standard experience.

When we ordered, our server took the time to explain their spice scale (1-5), letting us know that a 1 is already about a medium spice level. We settled on mostly 2-3, but wow--the Thum Khao Poon (shredded green papaya salad) still packed some serious heat! Even my spice-loving kids were challenged. The server also gave us a heads-up that it's very fish-forward in flavor, which we appreciated and happened to love. The absolute standout of the meal was the Nam Khao Tod. It was hands down the family favorite--crispy coconut rice with pork sausage, crunchy peanuts, fresh herbs, and so many incredible textures and flavors in every bite. We could have ordered a second plate! We also had the Drunken Noodles with chicken, which were slightly oily in the best possible way, making them extra rich and delicious. The Chef's Special Basil Stir Fry with Crispy Pork was another winner. Our server brought over a chili vinegar that elevated the crispy pork to a whole new level--it was so good drizzled over every bite. Great food, thoughtful service, and plenty of dishes we're already looking forward to trying next time. Can't wait to come back!

It's become our go-to spot for Thai takeout over the past few years since it's close to home, and the food has always been consistently delicious. Some of our regular favorites are the Thai crispy rolls, chicken lettuce wraps, Tom Kha soup, red curry, yellow curry, and my absolute favorite--the braised beef Panang curry. Since we've never had food from Laos before, we tried the Laos Famous Plate which was a mixture of all of the staples including several kinds of meat jerky, sausage, salad, and rice paper. I liked the sausage though, soft and with a unique flavor that is worth the try. The Nam Khao pork had a lot of different flavors and textures mixing together which also makes for a unique dish. I love the peanuts and the lime on the side. The rice is deep fried and crunchy. There is some "cheesey" flavor to it, though there's no cheese. This is a good one for anyone who likes the sides or apps at a Viet or Thai place and wants to mix it up. Finally, we did go basic (or classic) and got a pad thai with shrimp.
