Stopped here for lunch while passing through on business and was so glad I did! I walked in and instantly smelled the delicious food. My waitress was very friendly and even brought me a surprise garlic knot to try as that's their most popular item. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated... I felt like I was sitting in a little slice of Italy right in good ol WV. I'd definitely go back to this place again! read more

Adorable Italian place in Elkins with some awesome lunch specials! You get a salad and garlic bread with the pasta which is discounted at lunch. Egg on the salad was over cooked but everything else was wonderful. Menu isn't anything out of the ordinary but it is very good and well executed Americanized Italian food. Server was very attentive and I love that there is enough for leftovers! I'll have to check out their pizza! read more

I was in town for a golf tournament and thought I'd give this place a try because it had good reviews. Parking was difficult to find for this restaurant is downtown Elkins. When I walked in there were about three tables of folks eating. I was welcomed and told to sit where I'd like. I chose a two seater in the front window. The waiter was pleasant and helped me right away. I ordered the veal cutlet parm with pasta on the side. Instead of salad I ordered minestrone soup. I wish I hadn't. The soup tasted watered down and was bland. I didn't finish it. I also ordered a small calzone to take home with me when I was finished. The veal parm came to the table after about 15 minutes but was sat down on the other side of the table from me. The menu said it was PRIME veal. Either it wasn't prime veal or it was previously frozen and overcooked. It was difficult to cut with a butter knife, which is all I was given. Because the spaghetti and sauce was soupy, I just pulled some of the pasta out of the bowl and put it on my plate. It wasn't fresh pasta and it was a bit overcooked. So when I checked out I was handed the small calzone I ordered in a paper bag, which by the time I drove to my hotel had torn through the bottom and grease was all over the seat. I had asked for a box at the restaurant, but the gentleman who handed it to me didn't acknowledge my request. There is certainly room for improvement in the food and service, for the place wasn't crowded. Just not sure I'll give them another try. The veal and calzone cost about $38 with tax. Inviting from the outside and did not disappoint. Our waitress was very sweet and did a great job. They have a nice wine and beer selection available. The pizza was really good, as you can tell by the photo, we enjoyed and then remembered to grab a pic of the last piece. Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

I wish I could rate this place higher than 5 stars, because it deserves it. In case you're here for just the cliff notes: delicious pizza, amazing dough, clean, kitchy atmosphere that you'd expect, large pizza & huge calamari = $27. It's an entire experience... when you walk in, it looks, feels, smells, and sounds like an Italian American pizzeria. Spices and red sauce waft in the air, Italian music plays overhead, flowers and Godfather posters adorn the walls, a loud Italian guy is throwing dough and bossing people around. We ordered a large pizza - half with only cheese, half with cheese and meatballs. It was beyond delicious. The dough was perfect, the sauce amazing, and the meatballs were delightful. We also ordered calamari - the biggest serving I have ever seen for $10! It was perfect. Parking is free on the street (thank you, City if Elkins!) and locates right beside the new Tip Top. I remember when he owned a small shop in Morgantown Mall, and he was always so focused on the customer then, so I'm sure that has been a constant of his career. We arrived at 5:30 and the restaurant was busy but many empty seats in all three areas. There were at least 4 waitresses plus a guy busing tables, two workers in the bar area and someone working with the to-go orders. You seat yourself so we sat in the back where all middle row tables were open and a few others. It took ten minutes to get served. We placed our orders then with me asking for the baked ziti and a cannoli (which was the main reason we stopped) and my husband getting a calzone and lemonade. I got my salad and rolls that came with my pasta pretty quickly but it took another twenty minutes to get our drinks which we had to flag another waitress down to get them and my husband asked her for just water since we figured our food would be coming and he wouldn't get more than one refill. At 6:30 we were still waiting and we were told it should be coming. At 6:45 we were told they only had one cook. At 7:00 we were told it was going in the oven. At this time the table beside us that came in half an hour later already had their calzone and pizza. At 7:10 my pasta came out on a cold plate and barely room temp pasta which was soaking in watery sauce on the bottom of the plate. The two pieces of pasta I did eat were very chewy and over cooked. At this point we decided we were done and my husband went to find a manager to ask about leaving. He never did find a manager and the other staff were not "out" so he finally got the attention of someone in the bar. His calzone ended up coming during this time after 1hr 50min. The waitress was nice enough to not make us pay for my salad that I did actually eat and we left everything else on the table when we left. We never did see a manager or even have an offer of anything else for our time, patience, or horrible experience. While my husband was trying to find someone to talk to he also saw several workers in the kitchen area in red shorts which means even if there were only one "cook", like we were told, there were many hands in the kitchen working. Would give zero stars if I could. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. It looks like many have had similar experience based on reviews and sadly doesn't look like the owners respond to anything but 5 star reviews. We're on a road trip from SoCal and found this gem on the way to Virginia. My wife and all 3 daughters are gluten free due to allergies. Both of my son's and I are not GF, though. We had both types of pizza dough and they were great! We have pizza a lot and I would say that my wife and younger son are pizza snobs, and they thought it was very good. The service was awesome too, very friendly! Trinity and Belle were super sweet and helpful. The gentleman that was cooking (possibly owner or manager) was very friendly and super nice as well. This Jersey girl has a rule: never eat pizza out of the tri state area. Pizza outside of NJ/NYC is always disappointing. Well, I am vacationing in WV and needed to eat dinner on a Sunday night. I did not want fast food so I looked up restaurants and found Mama Mia's. Since I was out of dinner options I broke my rule and ordered pizza. It is described on the menu as NYC style which it is not, but I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was delicious. I'm guessing it was a WV take on NYC pizza. A snap decision found us staying in Elkins, West by God, and looking for local places to try. Since this place was number 2 rated in the area and we love pizza, we decided to give them a go. The pizza is New York style (my fave), the crust was cooked absolutely perfecto and the service was great! We ordered, and a few moments later our waitress and another lady came over to confirm our order. I think they thought we didn't know how much pizza we just ordered! That was so cute! This place was one of my favorites but it's went downhill quick. When I arrived on a Friday night there were only 2 tables occupied but trash was scattered all over the floor and every empty table needed cleaned. Looked like younger people running the show seemed more interested in dancing in the back and talking than working. The pizza was not the same either unfortunately. We went out this afternoon for the garlic chips at Siriana's in Davis. The town of Thomas was full with tourists, Davis was just as bad. Didn't want to wait in line. I had heard about a pizza place in Canaan Valley. Found Mama Mia's Pies and Pints in the small mall there. Bottom line is they have great food. I had a spicy seafood appetizer loaded with octopus, squid, shrimp, mussels, clams, hot italian sausage and of all things, meatballs, all in a spicy seafood broth. Oh, and they serve a garlic roll with it. It was great. Terri had a sweet italian sausage plate over linguini, also great. Good atmosphere, not crowded, will definitely good back. Only down thing I can say is it is very pricey, so expect that. Most entrees are $21+. I only got the appetizer, but am glad I did. Serving was huge and I had a hard time getting it all down. After a long weekend of backpacking 25 miles at Dolly Sods, the guys and I were looking for some good grub after surviving on dehydrated meals.. After pulling up Yelp we decided to give this place a look even though we were looking a little rough and may stick out.. GOOD THING WE DID! I may be wrong, but I thought I heard an Italian accent coming from the kitchen, so it may be ran by an Italian immigrant.. It sure tasted like it! We had 2 large pizzas that were extremely flavorful from the toppings to the crust and right down to the fresh and perfectly seasoned sauce. Oh, and what a lot of reviewers seem to not mention are their wings; they are honestly some of the best wings I've ever eaten! The only negative impression we got was from our server.. I'm not sure if we were just really stinky (which I don't think we were) or just we were a little too disheveled for her liking, but she wasn't very friendly.. Not rude, but just a little cold.. Maybe she was having a bad afternoon, but all in all we loved this place! read more

Terrible! Total rip off! 2 extremely thin (can see through them) pieces of meat on an Italian sub, no mayo, hot peppers, oil or seasoning as requested. Barely any pepperoni on 2 pizzas. Several slices on both pies had NO PEPPERONI AT ALL on them! Our order was screwed up when we went to pick it up and had to wait for them to remake food. Italian sub was a joke, 2 pizzas were a joke. This is the absolute worse experience I've ever had in a restaurant... We got there early, ordered waited 2 hours and nothing. i have been here 2 or so times before today, and the food and service was good. However, when I went there today for dinner, the waiter took our drink orders, and I was sitting within view of the cook. i witnessed him wipe his nose about 5 or so times, (no mask) with his bare hands, and start handling the dough and etc. I got up and left. this Is not a covid issue, it's just not good practice. This place is great! The pasta is delicious, and the garlic rolls are good too (nice chunks of garlic on top). Do yourself a favor and... Get. The. Gnocchi. With the vodka sauce. They bury it at the bottom of the pasta menu like it's a secret treasure buried in sea cave on the Oregon Coast and you gotta battle the Fratelli's with Sean Astin, Kerry Green, Corey Feldman and their crew to find it. Should be a feature item. Ask 'em to cook it a little longer than usual, so the gnocchis crisp up. Magnifique! read more
