Adorable Italian place in Elkins with some awesome lunch specials! You get a salad and garlic bread with the pasta which is discounted at lunch. Egg on the salad was over cooked but everything else was wonderful. Menu isn't anything out of the ordinary but it is very good and well executed Americanized Italian food. Server was very attentive and I love that there is enough for leftovers! I'll have to check out their pizza!

I was in town for a golf tournament and thought I'd give this place a try because it had good reviews. Parking was difficult to find for this restaurant is downtown Elkins. When I walked in there were about three tables of folks eating. I was welcomed and told to sit where I'd like. I chose a two seater in the front window. The waiter was pleasant and helped me right away. I ordered the veal cutlet parm with pasta on the side. Instead of salad I ordered minestrone soup. I wish I hadn't. The soup tasted watered down and was bland. I didn't finish it. I also ordered a small calzone to take home with me when I was finished. The veal parm came to the table after about 15 minutes but was sat down on the other side of the table from me. The menu said it was PRIME veal. Either it wasn't prime veal or it was previously frozen and overcooked. It was difficult to cut with a butter knife, which is all I was given. Because the spaghetti and sauce was soupy, I just pulled some of the pasta out of the bowl and put it on my plate. It wasn't fresh pasta and it was a bit overcooked. So when I checked out I was handed the small calzone I ordered in a paper bag, which by the time I drove to my hotel had torn through the bottom and grease was all over the seat. I had asked for a box at the restaurant, but the gentleman who handed it to me didn't acknowledge my request. There is certainly room for improvement in the food and service, for the place wasn't crowded. Just not sure I'll give them another try. The veal and calzone cost about $38 with tax. Tipped $10.

Inviting from the outside and did not disappoint. Our waitress was very sweet and did a great job. They have a nice wine and beer selection available. The pizza was really good, as you can tell by the photo, we enjoyed and then remembered to grab a pic of the last piece. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

I wish I could rate this place higher than 5 stars, because it deserves it. In case you're here for just the cliff notes: delicious pizza, amazing dough, clean, kitchy atmosphere that you'd expect, large pizza & huge calamari = $27. It's an entire experience... when you walk in, it looks, feels, smells, and sounds like an Italian American pizzeria. Spices and red sauce waft in the air, Italian music plays overhead, flowers and Godfather posters adorn the walls, a loud Italian guy is throwing dough and bossing people around. We ordered a large pizza - half with only cheese, half with cheese and meatballs. It was beyond delicious. The dough was perfect, the sauce amazing, and the meatballs were delightful. We also ordered calamari - the biggest serving I have ever seen for $10! It was perfect. Parking is free on the street (thank you, City if Elkins!) and locates right beside the new Tip Top. Definitely add this place to your itinerary!

Cold pasta with watery sauce that took almost 2 hours to get

We arrived at 5:30 and the restaurant was busy but many empty seats in all three areas. There were at least 4 waitresses plus a guy busing tables, two workers in the bar area and someone working with the to-go orders. You seat yourself so we sat in the back where all middle row tables were open and a few others. It took ten minutes to get served. We placed our orders then with me asking for the baked ziti and a cannoli (which was the main reason we stopped) and my husband getting a calzone and lemonade. I got my salad and rolls that came with my pasta pretty quickly but it took another twenty minutes to get our drinks which we had to flag another waitress down to get them and my husband asked her for just water since we figured our food would be coming and he wouldn't get more than one refill. At 6:30 we were still waiting and we were told it should be coming. At 6:45 we were told they only had one cook. At 7:00 we were told it was going in the oven. At this time the table beside us that came in half an hour later already had their calzone and pizza. At 7:10 my pasta came out on a cold plate and barely room temp pasta which was soaking in watery sauce on the bottom of the plate. The two pieces of pasta I did eat were very chewy and over cooked. At this point we decided we were done and my husband went to find a manager to ask about leaving. He never did find a manager and the other staff were not "out" so he finally got the attention of someone in the bar. His calzone ended up coming during this time after 1hr 50min. The waitress was nice enough to not make us pay for my salad that I did actually eat and we left everything else on the table when we left. We never did see a manager or even have an offer of anything else for our time, patience, or horrible experience. While my husband was trying to find someone to talk to he also saw several workers in the kitchen area in red shorts which means even if there were only one "cook", like we were told, there were many hands in the kitchen working. Would give zero stars if I could. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. It looks like many have had similar experience based on reviews and sadly doesn't look like the owners respond to anything but 5 star reviews. What we experienced tonight should definitely be concerning to the owners and likely their making.

    a plate of food

Quaint joint with yummy food - lots of choices including seafood. The garlic rolls are sinful. Very personable waitstaff. Booths and tables, but the table for two in the front makes for an intimate setting during date night.

Delicious! The Italian Feast is just that- yum. The salad was super fresh and the rolls mouth watering. The service was friendly and immediate.

The two wood-fired pizzas were perfection - crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. We also shared the meatball hoagie, meatballs with ricotta, antipasto salad, caprese salad, cucumber-tomato salad, Italian chicken salad sandwich, and the Italiano... and then there was the porchetta sandwich - hands down my new favorite sandwich in the universe. I'm still thinking about it. As if that wasn't enough, we finished with imported gelato (strawberry and caramel), and it was the perfect sweet ending. Beyond the amazing food, the two young ladies working the front were so kind, welcoming, and helpful - it really made the whole experience even better. Do yourself a favor and don't sleep on this amazing little market & café. We will 100% be back!

The group was mostly Italian-Americans, and Italian food is their "go-to" comfort food, especially during such a stressful period. Nonno Carlo, while a bit on the pricey side, did not disappoint with its high quality, abundant, and authentic Italian food. We also appreciated that its location was only about a 5-minute drive from the hospital. Food. (4.5/5). We ordered and shared: (1) The Ellis Island ($15.25), which is described by the restaurant as an Italian American classic sub that is a "sandwich so big you got to take a boat to get there!)" It features herbed aioli, provolone cheese, hot ham, pepperoni, vinegar peppers and onions, lettuce, tomato, and balsamic, piled high on a Mancini's hoagie roll. It was served with potato chips. (2) an Italiano sub ($15.50), which features mortadella, salami, soppressata, capocollo, provolone, and Calabrian pepper spread, served on focaccia. (3) an appetizer, Meatballs and Ricotta ($8.95). This was a favorite, with three DeMedici meatballs served over house-made ricotta. It was served with homemade bread, which was perfect for dipping. (4) Caprese Salad ($3) -- cherry tomatoes, house-made mozzarella, and basil, finished with extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. (5) Cucumber-Tomato Salad ($2), with sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, and basil, finished with extra virgin olive oil and vinegar. (6) Dessert: 2 for $7 cannoli. (You could also order a single cannoli for $4). My rating is 4-stars rather than 5-stars for two small reasons -- (1) the subs were somewhat soggy by the time they reached us, from the vinegar/spreads on them, and (2) both salads were sour given the ratio of vinegar to olive oil in the dressings. I can't speak to ambiance or service, as this was take-out and someone else picked it up. I would eat in or order from here again.

I talked into the meatball hoagie with a house salad with the house dressing. Can't wait to eat.... The house salad and Italian bread with soft butter were outstanding. As we're temporarily home bound, a friend brought us delicious takeout from Muriale's. We shared two somewhat-similar and tasty entrees, (1) Eggplant Parmesan ($21) featuring lightly breaded and fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, house-made marinara sauce and (2) Veal Parmesan ($24), with lighted breaded and fried veal, fresh mozzarella, and house-made meat sauce. Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value.

The second to last time we ordered online for pickup, my husband and I each got our own pizza. Each pizza had several ingredients on it. For some bizarre reason, they piled my pizza high with ingredients (which is great) and they put almost no ingredients on his pizza. It was basically a cheese pizza with a few scattered toppings. But we didn't discover this until we drove all the way home. So my husband was stuck with a pizza that wasn't very good, because he doesn't like cheese pizza. I don't understand why they would completely cover one pizza and not the other. I filled out the feedback form AND the contact form. Zero response. Many weeks later, we decided that it had to be a fluke, and decided to order online for pickup again. We were in a hurry, but I figured that if we wrote a note on the receipt to please cover BOTH pizzas with a lot of ingredients, they would. So I did. We picked the pizzas off and headed off to meet a friend. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we discovered that YET AGAIN they did the EXACT same thing. My pizza was absolutely covered - excessively so, including an absolute carpet of arugula on top. And my husband's was basically a cheese pizza. To be honest, it felt like they read my note, and decided to leave the ingredients off of one, just to spite us for asking. I don't know that that is actually what happened - but I couldn't figure out why one was absolutely coated and the other wasn't. It was really weird. So, AGAIN - I filled out the feedback form AND contacted them through the website. Nothing but complete silence. Management couldn't even be bothered to reply or try to make it right. So the only conclusion that I can draw is that they not only do not care about customer experience, but that they actively spite their customers. Don't eat here unless you can watch them make yoyr pizza in front of you. If they mess it up, they will not care and they will never make it right.

They both like pizza, so it was an easy win. The set up here is kind of like those MOD pizza chains - you can basically make your own pizza from any of the ingredients/toppings they have available and then they fire it right there for you. They have some pre-made recipes as suggestions - I went ahead and ordered the margarita and my kids just got plain cheese. The pizza itself was okay. It wasn't amazing, but for "fast food" pizza it was tasty and filling enough that it did the trick. The kids meals came with a scoop of their gelato, which really was a treat for me (I've got one kid who doesn't do ice cream, so I got his scoop of the mango - delicious! - while my little one got vanilla - also good). Service was fast and friendly, and the dining room was clean and spacious. Overall, a good experience!
