Solid practitioner, but was disappointed when I received a bill for several hundred dollars for an exam that was not covered by my insurance (a major insurer and a DPPO plan). The insurance company stated that the type of exam administered is not normally covered by insurance. When I called the office to ask why they did not verify insurance coverage, I was hastily transferred to "someone who handles insurance" and then hung up on. When I received another bill from them threatening to send me to collections, I called again and was told "we don't verify insurance coverage." What do you have all of those people working in that office for? Ridiculous, if not shady. I won't be doing business with them anymore. If you choose to, recommend to ask about insurance coverage before having them provide you services. read more

I'm a 78 year old with all my wisdom teeth. I had heard that having your wisdom teeth out was pretty painful the older you are so I freaked out when I heard that I needed one of mine removed. Happily the procedure was a non-event - three jabs of novocaine and a little laughing gas to clam me down, some pulling and pushing, and 10 minutes later, it was all over. Kudos to Dr. Elias and his staff for their kindness and sense of humor and for their very clear after surgery instructions that enabled a quick and comfortable recovery. I highly recommend them. The office staff here is great but the doctor was downright angry when I said that my new dentist hadn't sent instructions. He was very unprofessional while telling me the dentist was unprofessional! I have taken my family member here for a couple of procedures including extractions and an implant and each time has been wonderful experience. Dr. Paonessa has an MD/DMD and besides being amazing in surgery and implants my grandmother was impressed by his professionalism and warm chairside manner. I was referred to Dr. Elias by my regular dentist Dr. Vero. I was having wisdom tooth pain and had a mouth infection that Dr. Elias first gave me antibiotics for. The antibiotics cured the infection and Dr. Elias then performed the wisdom tooth extraction. He did one on top and one on the bottom. The whole thing took about 20 min. Very nice people working there, however, I highly recommend that you are 110% sure that they take your insurance before coming in for an appointment. So that your time and their time is not wasted. I made an appointment only to be told that I am expected to pay for the full amount of both consultation and surgery, and that insurance will reimburse me later on. Both of my girls had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Elias. Understandably, both of them were a bit nervous - as was their mother.
