I never ever eat anywhere else when I visit Newcastle for shopping. Why would I want to go somewhere that could only be second-best to this. The negative review here must have been the work of a malicious rival. Either that or he/she was in a different restaurant.

I like a bit of atmosphere as much as the next person, but I do like to be able to at least see my plate, if not exactly what's on it. It is lavish and opulent in its décor and serves a traditional Italian menu. An evening meal at this restaurant I would suggest is a grown up event and not for those with young children, however they do cater for families and have an outdoor dining area which is a pleasure to dine at on a balmy English evening with subtle lighting. Inside the dining area is over three levels, being a converted chapel you can imagine this is no ordinary lay out and has various little nooks and crannies for an intimate evening and also a mezzanine level which is somehow very clever in its design and doesn't give a focal point if you are eating below.
