The first thing about this place is its clean. The staff is very accommodating and service was quick even though they were very busy. Every thing else was average at best. Good prices, and a lot of food.... But, the omlette was overcooked, and had no seasoning at all. The potatoes were the same, a lot of them but no seasoning at all. Okay so I read the reviews and I was a little leery it kind of led me to believe that this place might not be so good or just mediocre to my surprise as soon as I walked in I was greeted I was able to pick whatever table I wanted I was then greeted with a woman to take my drink order for me and she was very pleasant and then my actual waitress came and I had a lot of questions and even though she had to go you know find out some of them to answer them she did and she not only found the answer but then brought me a sample of the different soups they have for the day the customer service was great and from checking in from Yelp I receive some free mama's fries they were made fresh the mama sauce that people talked badly about on here was very good! I will say that sometimes once you know these bad reviews come in maybe the establishment stepped it up or change some things but as of this month of January 2018 they definitely are doing better my breakfast food was hot / tasty and like I said the customer service even with me having spilled one of my Waters they quickly were like don't worry about it we'll clean it up it's no problem you know no huffing no buffering they put out the appropriate sign so no one fell on the wet floor so I have nothing bad to say for mom and pop diner in Tampa close to I believe it was Waters and Busch you do have to make a u-turn but I found a great parking spot and I believe there's parking in the back of the building also I'm not sure if they're Spanish or Greek I'm going to go with greek just because there were a lot of Greek items on the menu but it sounds like they speak both and if I'm ever in that area again I would stop in for Mama's fries read more

My friend thought the it would be nice to bring me to this establishment for breakfast since I'm new to the area and I wanted to see what was all the hype about Mamas Kitchen. I was so disappointed !!!! Dirty cups. Thats a No No. One had dried up lipstick on the rim and the other one had some black things floating in the cup. The orange juice tasted like it was made with tap water and we all know that's gross. We placed an order anyway and hoped that it was ok. Well..... We never found out. Why ? We never got our order. People that came in after us got served before we did. We were just sitting there wondering wtf was going on. The waitress didn't even come to the table to apologize for the delay or anything. And I don't ever like to play the race card but my friend and I were like 2 flies in milk and were treated as such. So we just got up and left. I felt horrible, embarrassed and HUNGRY !!!! I will NEVER EVER step foot in that disgrace of a place again !!!!!! One more thing ... clean your damned dishes and kitchen !!! This place was delicious! After a horrible experience at the Waffle House we decided to come here instead. The server suggested the French toast and it was some of the best French toast I've had ever. The portion was huge and the service was wonderful. It's a nice homey environment where they make everyone feel like more than a customer. Our server went above and beyond, gave us coffees to take with us, and gave us suggestions on things to do in the area since we are visiting from Baltimore. Had the California turkey burger, fries and a drink. One of the best surprises for me was the slaw. The slaw was good tasting and nice and cold. Everybody was extremely friendly and professional. One employee carried the food out for an elderly person, this does not happen that often. They were also very accommodating for an individual who needed assistance in seating. Mamas kitchen had great breakfast. Our flight got in around 5:45am and they open at 6 am. The breakfast came with great portions. I had the corn beef hash and it was amazing. I'm 36 years old and this was by far the best breakfast I've EVER had. I had the sunrise omelette (goat cheese, sundried tomatoes and mushrooms with hollandaise on the side), crispy hashbrowns, and crispy bacon. The food was so perfect, I couldn't decide whether to stuff myself or keep some for later! I decided to keep some for later but I should have just ordered one to go. Service was fast and friendly, food was reasonably priced and the restaurant was clean....I have nothing bad to say! I think the secret is out on this place though....we got there on a Sunday morning at 8:30a and got a table but by the time we left it was packed and there were people waiting on tables. I was worried when I walked in and there was no one else in the restaurant and the waitress was sweeping the floor. She greeted me and said to sit anywhere I liked and informed me right way that they were out of one of the items on the specials list. She came right over with a menu and took my drink order. I ordered the stuffed peppers with a salad. The salad arrived with the dressing on the side. The dressing was honey mustard and I am not sure if they make it in house or just purchase a really good one, but the mustard was a whole grain mustard and it was delicious. I was also served warm slices of Cuban bread and the bread was fresh! My meal arrived with a serving of green beans and a baked potato, the stuffed pepper was a full pepper cut in half and laid out with the stuffing of ground meat & rice topped with a tomato sauce. The serving was huge and could have fed two or three people. The potato was baked perfectly, the skin a little crispy and the inside hot and fluffy. The beans had a nice flavor, they were canned but the chef added some seasoning which gave them a really nice flavor, the stuff peppers were good, I prefer a little spicier, but was able to add some ground pepper and hot sauce to spice it up to my liking. The place started filling up not long after I arrived and I could tell by the way the waitress greeted some that they must be regulars. The menu is extensive and they have a wide variety of selections leaning to the Greek & Italian side of dishes. The restaurant was clean,the staff friendly and the prices reasonable. We just moved to this area and decided to try Mama's Kitchen for lunch. Service is extremely slow. It took 35 minutes to get our order. I had a Cobb Salad that was very fresh and tasty. However, it had way too many raw onions in it. My son ordered chicken strips and he didn't like them. They looked strange and they were too salty. My husband and two friends all ordered sandwiches. They all said that the sandwiches didn't have much flavor and one also had too many onions. We give this place a C+ at best. We do want to try their breakfast menu at a future date. read more

I didn't ask why, but their seems to be a lion theme all around the restaurant which is evident by the numerous wall portraits inside and around the establishment. Pretty cool. I was here with a friend for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It started to fill up around 8 am, but that didn't seem to phase the wait staff, who seemed to handle the large crowd with ease. We had two servers check on us periodically and both were efficient. Standard breakfast menu items. Don't expect anything too creative. Ordered a cheese omelette (Swiss cheese) w/ egg substitutes.
