I reckon Chinese may even just edge it. This is the place I will use if picking up a takeaway after an hour or 4 in the nearby British Oak. My wife is partial to banana fritters, so sometimes I'll pop in here to purchase a pre-emptive peace offering if I've stayed a wee bit too long in the British Oak. It's a fairly standard chinese takeaway in terms of how it looks - sparse interior, lonely counter, plastic menu, etc - but the food here is really cheap and actually very tasty (whether you are 4 pints down, or not).

I hate it when there is too much oil in my food; this is something that I often encounter with Chinese food. I ordered diced chicken with ginger and spring onions with rice. When I got the food back it was served in plastic containers, easily transferable to any plate. The dish was very healthy and the flavours from the ginger and spring onion were delicious. We also shared some chips which were very nice. I have always liked the chips that are served in Chinese takeaways. The have a distinctive flavour about them, one that is different to the ones served in regular chip shops. The food was eaten in an instant, despite having to wait twenty minutes for it to arrive. They deliver to Moseley so I will most likely be coming back here again.

The set meal for two that we choose, (there are two options), is spare ribs with Peking sauce, sweet and sour pork Cantonese style, chicken with satay sauce, large fried rice and prawn crackers. Some meat on the bone, some sweet and sour meat and something meat in peanut sauce. That's a variety that I wouldn't have chosen left to my own devices. Tasty it was, too. You might also want to try the set meal option where they offer it in balti houses too. The added bonus is that is also means that you don't have the embarrassment of ordering rice with a biryani, for example.

Group of 8 people and we chose to have the: Special Banquet (minimum for 4 ppl) - £29.00 per person Yuk Sung, Sesame Prawn Toast, Aromatic Duck with Pancakes, Honey Pepper King Prawns, Seabass with Thai Chilli Sauce & Basil, Cantonese Cripsy Chicken, Sizzling Beef Fillet Cantonese Style, Mixed Vegetables in Satay Sauce *Contains Nuts and Special Fried Rice The Yuk Sung was the best I had ever had before. The sesame Prawn Toast was not the normal flat piece of bread, but huge and filled with prawn. The king prawns were huge!!!! Vietnamese King Prawns (???) Inside, there's an elegant, romantic feel generated by the easy-listening soundtrack, lush red décor, themed lanterns and meticulously folded napkins.
