Customer service is great, I have been helped immediately if there wasn't a line and fairly quick if there was a line. My favorite sandwich so far has been the fried scallop. I've also had the crab. The one I've had my eye on but yet to try is the egg sandwich. Each bite was tasty, I'm not sure if it was the bread or the scallop I liked more! While the fruit sandwiches looked good and refreshing, we decided to get a tonkatsu sandwich and a croquette koppepan. Most of the sandwhiches and display case was empty 1.5 hours before closing hours. One staff prepares the order while the other rings you up. Wait time for orders maybe 5-10 minutes depending on size and quantity. Rating is based on the fact that the order was verbally stated twice yet still rung up wrong. No greeting from cashier. Order came out incorrect. And the overall dining experience was a messy one. I didn't have high hopes for Mana Sandwiches because I've had a fruit sandwich in Japan before and didn't think highly of it. But because of that, I only got savory sandwiches here instead of the sweet options. And oh my lord, I can't wait till the day I can come back for their sandwiches. To say the mushroom katsu sandwich is delicious is an understatement; it's literally the best sandwich I've ever had. If you've ever had the shroom burger at Shake Shack, it's a bit like that but simplified and without the oozy cheese. The quality of the mushroom was also top-tier. The ham and egg sandwich is also recommendable but not as good as the mushroom katsu sandwich or the egg salad sandwiches at Japan convenience stores. The egg is like egg salad, fyi. Tried their miso katsu sando with cabbage. Bread was perfect, similar to Japan. The katsu was a disappointment. While it was cooked well, the flavor was rather bland, there wasn't much crunch, and it didn't have the rich fattiness that I typically expect in a pork katsu. Now if you're trying to be healthy, it's definitely a leaner pork katsu, so maybe that's a good thing! It was 6.50 for a half sando, the pork katsu itself was probably around 2-3 ounces in size. I would return to try other items but probably wouldn't get this one again. This spot is a nice place to grab something smaller as a part of a food crawl of the food court or as a snack/light meal on its own. Prices are okay but don't expect to be full. I walked in, saw the fruit and cream sandwiches and how aesthetically pleasing they looked, but still didn't find any appetizing appeal to them. If you're like me, and prefer savory sandwiches, don't worry, they have those too. Other savory sandwiches include tonkatstu sandwich, ham and cheese, roast beef, egg, and more. I settled on the lobster sandwich. It was pretty good and I would order it again. They also have specialty drinks like coffee jelly milk, strawberry milk, and chips, and loaves of Brug bread for sale by the loaf and half a loaf. They use Brug bakery bread for their sandwiches. Seems like a great addition to the Downtown Honolulu lunch scene. Customer service was good. I'll be back to try the Avocado Egg Edamame sandwich and maybe muster up enough curiosity to try a fruit sandwich. All of them look and sound great to me, just not in between sandwich bread. Drinks - One day a woman was holding a fresh strawberry milk drink. She said I need to try it so I did. YUM!!! Soups - So far, the soups are fantastic. My favorite so far is the clam chowder and the corn chowder. I only wish the container were much larger for the price. Strawberries - Once a year at end of the year, they import fresh strawberries straight from Japan. There are two types, the smaller tart/sweet and the little larger mostly sweet. These strawberries are quite expensive but considering that ppl in Japan will pay $50 for just ONE jumbo asian pear, I guess this strawberry situation is not so bad. When I spent $50, I got a free "Mana Sandwiches" cooler tote. So cool. Thank you!! When the time comes, put your order in before they sell out. They are a definite must try.
