Never again. Brought lawn tractor in for pre-season maintenance. They had it for two months. Got it back and it would not start. They said I needed a new battery. Asked why they didn't tell me this when they were working on it. They had no answer. Asked when new batter could be installed and they told in six weeks. Are you kidding me???? It's like dealing with "Dumb AND Dumber". Like others have said they prefer to spend their money local, but, I'm done with this place. They do not care about their customers. read more

Horrible customer service. Long time customer (incl. riding mower purchase in excess of 3k). Top five greatest customer service fails over the years for this family run: 1. Stops selling 15 minutes before close (bag of charcoal). 2. Will tell you you are "lucky" they are selling to you between 20/30 minutes before close (parts for the aforementioned riding mower). 3. Brought turf wheel in for service. 2 guys sitting around in parts/service. Tire was in stock. "We can get that changed for you in 4 days". 4. Brought previous mower in for service (in February). Checked in in March ("We have the parts, but its a long list"). Check back again...still not done. Pick up mower, ask "can I get the parts so I can do the work myself?" Response -- " Oh we never actually ordered those". (parts were idler wheel, blades, and air filter for a Byers - a make they didnt carry but said they could get) 5. Wanted to rent the subcompact tractor they have. Called to ask the model of the Massey Furg it was so I could check to see if the specs were appropriate for the job. Ace - "It just says 'compact tractor'" Me - "Can you go look at it, the model is probably right on it?" Ace - "No thats outside". Sometimes job security isn't a good thing. So glad I'm getting a Kubota and don't have to darken this door again. Like others said, their prices are always ~$5 higher than HD or Lowe's. read more

Refused to wear a mask for medically fragile child. I went to shop there with my nine-year-old son who is medically frag ile. My son was born at 25 weeks and one day. As a result has chronic lung disease and Covid - 19 has a high potential to be very complicated for him. I asked employees if they could please wear a mask while we were in the store and they became belligerent and refused to wear a mask. They told me that the emergency order and mandate by the governor was just his opinion and they had no reason to follow it. The staff had a complete disregard to my son and his situation and refuse to wear a mask. So we left the owner of this company also buses our children in our school district and owns a busing company I have no faith that he has the public interest in mind in anyway. read more

The service at this place is horrible and very lacking, the staff doesn't talk to one another so the walj around clueless on what to do, like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing; recently my 75 year old widowed mother in law was taken advantage of by them till I had to step in and put a stop to it, they changed a tire out on a wheel for her lawn tractor a d told her it was ready for pick up a week later and they put it in her car for her when she got it home it only had 4lbs of air in it!!! So I pumped it up to the proper 10lbs thinking it was just a small error on their installer, she mower her lawn with the tire on tractor and the next day it was completely flat as a pancake! So she called in to the ace hardware store and they said bring it back in, and they would fix it! Then when she took it in, they acted like they didn't know what she was talking about and wanted to charge her more money to fix the leaking tire they left go being not properly inflated! I needed some anti-freeze since my car was overheating and I had a 'low coolant' light come on. I couldn't really think of a closer place to get what I needed so I stopped in. The store is clean and laid out well with the time of about 3 minutes to find what I needed and check out. I also picked up windshield washer fluid and have bought ice melt bags here before. The selection and prices are both very good. read more

The people that work here are friendly. We had a john deere mower that needed fixing and their service and prices were low and affordable. Saved hundreds by taking it to them then the southern York Turf and Tractor (York Location). They also pick up and deliver too. Honest people with honest prices. read more

I like these small hardware stores because you can find odd and end things that you kind find at the larger stores. I was looking for aluminum foil duct work tape. I found it at Lowes and it was like $20 for a large roll. I didn't want a large roll, nor did I want to shell out $20 for this tape. That would be great if I had a business but horrible if I needed one or two uses out of it. I found it at this store for only a few dollars (cant remember exactly how much) for a much smaller roll. I always like to include a little constructive criticism for my reviews. So I will point out that the store is quite dirty. Not a shocker for a hardware store. The layout is quite weird. They have the aisles set up strangely as you enter and exit the store. I can only presume, this is to prevent sneaking passed the checkout counter without paying. But it is not set up like any other store that I have been in. It doesn't register as something positive, it feels more tedious to shop there because of it. One more thing: I have only seen a very limited amount of employees in the store. But I have not had any major problem as a result, just trying to mention everything to help the store and future customers. I believe in supporting your local franchises. I hope that this review helps them. read more
