My husband and I spent a long day at Manchester Urology. First of all, they allowed us to come and have an appointment immediately when I told them that my husband was very uncomfortable. Secondly, he was cared for and relieved of his pain and thirdly, a wonderful and smart nurse named Darlene spent an inordinate amount of time with him and allowed him to make the best choices. We are now home, feeling that my husband got the best possible care and can recommend this particular Urology office highly. My husband has been to many doctors of different specialties, is himself a retired physician, and feels immensely relieved and impressed with the excellent care he received. read more

I accompanied my husband to an appointment with Christian Bartels and he was so unprofessional. He was rude, dismissive, and interrupted my husband almost every time he spoke. He ordered a bunch of unnecessary tests so he could bill us for them, and then discounted the severity of my husbands condition so he wouldn't have to do any actual work treating it. We saw another urologist (after an unfortunately long wait) and treatment began immediately. read more

Was referred to MUA by my primary doctor because my PSA number went from 4.5 to 10.7 in 2 years ( missed last year's blood test because primary doctor was out on maternity leave ) . Primary Doctor faxed information twice to them and said they would contact me within 2 weeks. Never heard from them so I called after week 3. They told me they never received faxed info. ,and even with a high PSA number they said they would set me up for appointment in 4 months , a long wait when not knowing if it is BPH , Prostatitis or Prostate Cancer. You would think they would find a open time slot or squeeze me in to find out the cause first and go from there. read more

I went here after getting some scary results on a CAT Scan. They were able to get me an appointment fairly quickly and the doctor had amazing bedside manner. He was able to get me the testing I needed and able to explain it in away that I understood. The staff here is very kind but definitely a busy office. read more

Good doctors, not so much with phone staff. Said they called me three times but I have no record of the call in my phone. Didn't bother to text or email. The call center woman first suggested that I didn't have the " tech ability" to search my voice mail. You know when someone is putting on fake patience or politeness and this was definitely it! Good medical staff; poor front and back office staff. Dr, Hill is an excellent doctor: communicates well, also treats patients well - in office. The issue is that his back office staff cannot be bothered to either take phone calls or respond to voicemail messages that you're forced to leave. The compounding injury is that when you *can* get someone to return your phone call? They can be very hostile, rude, uncaring, and unprofessional. I'm sorry that you're having a bad day but don't take your workload problems out on patients - and don't threaten to hang up, thereby withholding important information, when you get called out on your poor phone and office communication issues. MUA clearly has staffing problems, especially in the Nashua, NH office. read more

I had a rough start after my Urolift procedure. I had several questions about why my pain post procedure was so intense. I also sought more info related to catheter issues, which was also causing pain. This was day 2. I had concerns I may not get much satisfaction late on a Friday afternoon. They had me come in for a bladder scan by Stephanie D. Stephanie is an understanding, patient, and knowledgeable nurse. She answered all my questions and concerns, which frankly calmed me down. She expertly put in a new catheter. She spent well over an hour answering all my questions. It was a bedside manner I've never experienced. When I was done, she fist bumped me and said:"You got this, you'll be ok." Stephanie recognized i was stressed, and I really needed some assurance. So a big thank you to Stephanie D. The epitome of going the extra mile! You are a gem in that really busy practice! read more

Had a serious UTI, went to Manchester urology. In fact, Dr. Sarah Mcaleer was the pits. She refused to test me, telling me I had OAB (over active bladder) without testing, checking or doing an exam. By the 3rd visit, had someone with me, and I insisted she do a culture. This wack job, threw opened the door and started grabbing urine sample off a tray, holding them up for me to see, insisting everybody's urine is brown. I was stunned, having grown up with yellow urine. When the dust settled, she claimed, "Fine, I'll do a damned culture". The woman with me was shocked by her behavior and remarked, "I don't why you think she's so good..." And to top it all off, when the culture came back 3 days later....it was positive. I wouldn't go to this place again with someone else's privates... read more

There is a reason why New Hampshire Magazine gives the nod of "Top Urologists," year after year, to Dr John Munoz and so many of his colleagues at Manchester Urology Associates. It is an outstanding practice. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and it became clear that I needed a prostatectomy, I reached out to three different doctors whom I know well to help me identify one of the top surgeons in the area of prostatectomy surgery. None of these three doctors lives in New Hampshire. I live in northern New Hampshire, but I made it clear to these doctor-friends that I would go absolutely anywhere in the U.S. to get access to someone who had an exceptional track record of success treating prostate cancer. Literally two of the three doctors whose help I solicited recommended Dr Munoz and the Manchester Urology practice in general. Dr Munoz has made the Catholic Medical Center, where the surgery is performed, a mecca for prostate-related surgery, rivaling anything one finds at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical or any of the major teaching hospitals in Boston or New York City. I underwent my prostatectomy in January and I had particular anxiety given that I have MS. I was uncertain how I would tolerate the surgery. During the pre-operation consult, Dr Munoz explained everything with crystal clarity and went out of his way to address my concerns relating to the MS. My wife and I had, literally, about 50 questions, and each one was answered comprehensively and in an unhurried way. The written instructions given to us to bring home, after the consult and ahead of the surgery, were clear, well-written, and highly detailed. The surgery itself was a total success. My anesthesiologist, Dr William Kelley, was a huge fan of Dr Munoz and had referred several friends and family members to Dr Munoz to treat their prostate cancer. This was a highly reassuring fact to learn just before going "under the knife." I was well sedated by Dr Kelley early on, and, thankfully, don't remember a thing. I had zero pain. And I was kept highly comfortable during the entire post-op experience. The pathology report came in one day ahead of the expected date. Dr Munoz called me immediately to summarize the results. Again, one of his great strengths is to explain complex medical issues to the layperson in clear and highly intelligible terms. After performing my surgery, Dr Munoz found my wife in the waiting room and debriefed her. She told me after I "came to" that he was warm and totally reassuring. Post-surgery, while still in the hospital , Dr Munoz visited me during both of the two mornings I was there. This is a doctor for whom caring for and actually HEALING patients is not a job, but rather a calling. He has total focus and passion to get the best result possible. I could feel this "calling" the way he checked up on me in the hospital, really connecting with me, and the way he never rushed me. Dr Munoz puts patient healing above popularity. He said I could have prescription pain medication after leaving the hospital if I needed it, but that it often caused constipation and could potentially undermine my healing. He suggested I try a combination Aleve and Tylenol instead first. This totally worked. It would have been much easier for him to simply dole out Percocet instead of giving me a choice and actually explaining the pros and cons. The catheter removal was performed by Patty Dumont, the nurse practitioner. This was yet another top-notch healthcare professional. Patty has vast experience working with post-op patients. She was warm, caring, professional, articulate and highly competent. A final small point: there is always ample and convenient parking there at 4 Elliot Way in Manchester. This is important given that so many patients come in and out with a catheter or with other complications. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and I have been to many doctors over the years for my various challenges. Kudos to Manchester Urology! read more

I'm not surprised to see all these terrible reviews. It's a circus from the moment you walk in and no one knows what they're doing. I am shocked this office is still running and/or isn't closed down. They are very impersonal and unprofessional. Even after I told them several times to stop calling me to set up another appointment they shockingly continued to call. You should hear the voice mails they left...she sounds like she just woke up. Where do they find these people and why aren't they trained? I've never seen an office run so poorly. MUA & my Dr. completely blew off not one but two appointments, with no apology or reason! No idea how they won any awards. It took me 5 months to get the first appointment that was canceled 20 minutes after the start time. My 2nd appointment was today at 8:30a via phone appt. It's 3:15p and I received no call. I called and emailed them around 9a today and received confirmation from two of their office employees that this appointment was scheduled for 8:30a today. I've emailed the manager several times since 9a and received zero response. Stay away! Extremely unprofessional! read more

Although I see several posts of the office be very hectic and that can be overwhelming for many when they already don't feel well. I felt the same at the beginning of my journey with MUA. I went to this office to figure out why I had an overactive bladder (why am I going pee so darn much) I met with Patty Dumont- this wonderful woman although extremely busy took the time to listen and make recommendations that would work in MY LIFE! Not what was easiest for her but for me. After 2 medications it was a discussion with Dr. Sarah McAleer to see what would get me back to living and not always wondering where the bathroom was :-). Several options were given but again although busy she took the time, to listen to what was going on in my life, what I wasn't able to do anymore, and what was upcoming that was very important to me. This office went above and beyond to accommodate getting me better before my daughter's wedding so I could enjoy every minute without worrying. I am truly grateful for all they did to assist in making me feel so much better! GREAT TEAM, GREAT EFFORT. read more

I met an NP, who said I needed to see the MD a different day. I never made that appointment. I couldn't get past the receptionist. I do know they are a high volume office, as I was told over and over. Dropped calls, long wait times, automated phone systems. Lab orders not sent at all then the requested lab did not receive them. This place is a carnival, not a medical office. I now go to an office in Boston. Traffic and parking are less of a hassle than dealing with this office. read more

This is the worst managed office I have ever had the misfortune to deal with! Nashua office personnel don't have a clue! they have lost samples,neglected to send my Doctor pathology results that showed cancer-he got it three months late! I could go on but you get the idea-stay away! read more

After weeks of research, I decided to see Dr. Girasole for a Urolift procedure. This view is 4 months later. Pros: Nice office and staff/nurses. Dr. Girasole has a nice bedside manner. Appears knowledgeable. Covid test prior to procedure was very easy and straight forward. Insurance covered most cost. Cons: Laughing gas (didn't know it was extra $ but no big deal) helped somewhat but really, go to a hospital and have them knock you out (and my pain tolerance is pretty/very high). They will tell you most men use laughing gas/etc. without problems, but.... good luck. After the procedure was done (in a small room). They will gave me verbal instructions and a pamphlet, and sent me on my way... But let me tell you, my first 48 hours (with the medications) was horrible!!! I hardly slept in that 48 hours. "Frequent Urination" was used often after the procedure. But let me tell you, it was so painful to urinate (again, even with the medication). For 48 hours, I felt like I had drank 10 cups of coffee and had been driving for 10 non stop. That pressure of having to pee SOOOOOOO bad- for 48 hours min. * Disappointing- Not one person from the office called to check up on me AT ALL! Zero follow up! All you get is a 5 or 6 week follow up appointment after the procedure... Now the worst- 4 months after the procedure- with 6 implants and the pain and suffering. I am not that better off before my Urolift. I am still not able to empty my bladder. I drip. I still get up 3-4 times a night. I am done with surgeries. Medications. I just have to live with this for the rest of my live. read more

This practice is a factory, running people through like a carwash. While the Doctors are skillful, its far to busy and hectic to be a positive experience for patients. The waiting room is always packed, and lacks any kind of comfort. Support staff vary from poor to average, all seem stressed, likely by the hectic atmosphere. read more

Absolutely THE WORST!!!!! patient experience in my 67 years on earth! In late August, my 90+ yo mother's surgery was cancelled at 3PM the day before the procedure and no one notified us. We got her to the hospital at 7AM as instructed only to find out they had no record of her being on the schedule. After 6 phone calls and 1 message left on the portal since then, I have still not received a call back from anyone at this office. This is the 3rd time the surgery has been rescheduled. Received a call from the hospital intake office yesterday informing me her surgery has been scheduled. The office STILL has not called me. My call to them today to confirm and schedule surgical follow up appointments just rang 20 times with no answer. The Dr and nurses have been very good but the office certainly needs some training in customer service and general courtesy. read more

I was pleased to be able to meet with Patty NP. After a good history intake and reviews of labs, the outcome of the appointment was a relief. I felt well listened to during the intake phase with the Med Tech and I felt well taken care of by Patty. Covid questioning and protocols were all met at the door prior to entry. I would recommend Patty because of her excellent listening skills And for how thorough she was in determining the prognosis. It is A very busy office- phone wise and people wise- but most of the providers were running on time and there was very little delay in being called in from a given appointment. read more

I am writing a review to warn others that sometimes you may not get the correct info due to the urologists interested in money than in the patient. I have BPH and have done extensive research and found that most Urologist will not talk about Prostate Artery Embolization. I have gone to several urologist and they have talked about all of their procedures but when I asked about PAE, I was told that it is experimental and I was advised that I should not do that. The problem is it is not experimental and Medicare pays for it along with my health supplement. I have lost all trust in a Dr that does not keep up with the latest procedures. I would recommend to seek out another Urolist as this place seems to be all about the Buck$$$. Misinformation from a dr is the reason I would NEVER go back to this place. Stay Away! read more

The majority of the staff was excellent which is the good part. Don't trust the Billing department though. I had a vasectomy on 9/20. I called the office a few days before hand because they never got back to me to let me know whether the insurance would cover it or not. The lady told me that all I would have to pay is the $45 copay. Then a couple weeks after the surgery I got a bill from them for $300 on top of the $45. As if it wasn't bad enough that the Dr dropped the cauterizing iron on my man bits while parts of me were clamped off, now they give me 10 days to pay the bill they told me I wasn't going to have. read more

Please do your research before scheduling your appointment here!! My husband went in for what he thought was going to be an easy procedure (a vasectomy) as the doctor ensured him it would be and they said it had minimal side affects. He was also told he was a great candidate for this procedure after his examination. The day of, I dropped my husband off for this procedure at 9:30 in the morning and picking him up a little over an hour later. They did not give him any verbal discharge instructions nor did they tell him what he should be looking out for or what to take for pain following discharge. They literally gave him two specimen cup in a paper bag and told him his discharge instructions where inside. They then pointed to the way out and that's it!! After a few hours of being home my husband began to swell and was experiencing pain. We both anticipated he would experience some but what he was feeling was intense so I tried calling the office It took a few tries before I could get ahold of someone and when I finally did someone in the office put a message through to have the on call doctor call us back. We received a call within about 30-45 minutes following our call. My husband spoke with the doctor and voiced his concerns that he was having a lot swelling and the pain he was having was sharp and very uncomfortable. The doctor told him that this was to be expected and to try and stay as inactive as possible and to apply ice to the area. Which he had been doing all long. I had also ask if there was anything he should be looking out for just in case and he said no. That everything sounded "normal" and that some people swell more than others and everyone's pain tolerance is different. We took his advise and my husband continued to rest and ice the area as direct as the instructions they gave him. After a few more hours (about 2-3) my husband was still experiencing very sharpe pain and the swelling was getting worse. It was so bad he couldn't even bare to get off the couch. We called again. My husband again talked to the on call doctor and voiced his concerns. He again disregarded them and told him everything was "normal" and it would go away in a few days. He even voiced numerous times how much pain he was in and that the swelling/bruising (they were about the size of a baseball for reference) was getting worse. Even then he said to keep icing the area as directed and it was "normal". He also said they were closed the next day (because of 4th of July) otherwise he would have scheduled for him to come in. The morning after the procedure my husband had hardly slept the night. As what they had said to be "normal" pain and swelling had turned into agonizing pain and excessive swelling (the size of a softballl). My husband then went to the ER and come to find out he had a hematoma. They ended up having to bring him in for surgery to drain the blood and relieve the pressure. They told him that he was lucky he had come in when he did because he could have lost not only one but both of his testicles. I wish he would have listened to his gut feeling and went earlier but when you have someone who supposedly knows best tell you everything is fine it makes you think twice. Please if you ever concern having this or anything done please look elsewhere. A 30 minute "simple" procedure on a healthy and active 30 year old man turned into a complete nightmare!! read more

My husband is a patient and has been calling for 2 weeks trying to get a prescription filled. They send in the wrong one multiple times or send one which is not signed. And this whole time he has never received a call back from anyone informing him about the prescription. He then called asking to speak to an administrator and nope, no call back. This is just ridiculous to treat people this way. Once this prescription is filled we will be looking for a new physician for my husband. read more

When I said excuse me I was talking, I didn't get an apology, just another demand for the patients date of birth. If you hate your job, may I suggest getting another one. I have gone to see Dr. Sellek since 2013 and in every appointment, and I mean literally, I have waited no less than 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to see the doctor. As I sit typing this review I do so from the waiting room and it is 25 minutes past my appointment and I am told the doctor is behind, as usual. The care and knowledge of the doctor are good but as a working professional I cannot do with waiting often times an hour past my appointment for what is likely a 15 minute follow up. If you value timeliness and schedule I warn you to go elsewhere. read more

I had a very important appointment scheduled here and when I was in their parking lot ready to go in for the appointment I got a phone call from them saying that they needed to reschedule my appointment. I still went inside for the appointment because I was already there, and the receptionist had told me that they had called me "bright and early" that morning. They literary called me two minutes before my scheduled appointment. This EXACT scenario happened about three more times until I was finally able to have the procedure done. Do not go here expecting to have your appointment that day because they literally had to reschedule me 3 times without even calling me to let me know. Terrible experience. read more

He took the time to fully explain results to us, making sure we understood everything, and we never felt rushed. I would recommend this practice to others. read more

I have been visiting this place for 2 years now, but every time I visit, the following thing stays the same: 1) I went for a 7:30 appointment (as marked on my appt card and by verbal telling me. I arrived at 7:15 am and the office was shut and closed! I called the "Office number" no answer. Finally, the office was open and staffed with a nonapologetic receptionist at 8 am, apparently their normal office opening time. 2) Unhelpful receptionists. Rude manners of 'communicating' if one can call that. eg she asked me for my medical card. I gave it to her to which she said "Medical card!" with a tone of anger! I told her that is the medical card" with a sense of bewilderment, to which she simply accepted it with nothing close to apologizing! 3) And finally, get this, when they leave you a message to call them back a certain number, that number takes you to a phone tree that takes you to nowhere. imagine, anxiously waiting for a lab results only to be told "Please leave a number, your name, the reason you are calling" etc etc! read more

Dr. Kamman at Manchester Urology is the best urologist we have seen who solved a problem 6 other urologists could not. The Dover office, however, is the pits. Absolutely the worst -- I'm speaking about the Dover office, not the main Manchester office. As Dover is closer to us than Manchester, Dr. Kamman has had us go there for a monthly service, but despite Dr. Kamman saying their office would have to help us get catheters and sterile water, Dover refused. REFUSED!!! Dr. Kamman is on medical leave and can't help solve the problem, but as a warning -- Dover is the pits. Leagues and bounds below their Manchester office. read more

I've been a patient for a few years now at MUA. My wife has been a long time patient at MUA Dover. She's had a couple of procedures done over at WDH in Dover and has been very happy. Roger Evans is a top flight urologist, and has great bedside manner. I've had a number of procedures with the docs at MUA Manchester. The staff is outstanding. Always very busy, but they get you in and get you out quickly. I had a procedure done in the Elliot with Dr. Girasole a few months back. I've not been a happy camper with the outcome, but that's not on Dr. Girasole. Sometimes things don't work out the way you'd hope with these procedures, but he was up front about it from the get go. I'm just one of the unlucky 20%. But would I recommend MUA in Manchester or Dover? You bet. And Dr. Girasole? The only doctor I've run into (and I've had many over the past 18 months) that has actually called me directly to discuss my situation both before and AFTER procedures have been completed. MUA is lucky to have docs (and PAs) like they do. read more
