I do not have enough good things to say about Dr. Mancoll. I am one week post op and have had the best experience. From the first initial consult in August to my first follow up yesterday It has been great. His bedside manner is exceptional. He took the time with me every single visit as well as took the time with my mom ( who was very worried) to help ease her concerns and answered every question. He was very easy to get on the phone and answered all my questions (on a Saturday at 9 am!!). In terms of the procedure itself It was smooth and I am already in love with my results and I am still in the recovery. I had liposuction with fat grafting to the breast and I am obsessed with my results ( and still have a bit more recovery ahead). No only was Dr. Mancoll wonderful, but his entire staff exceeded my expectations. From the receptionist, to the nurse, anesthesia, and surgical coordinator. Everyone was so comforting and kind. As a physician,/surgeon myself, I can honestly say that Dr. Mancoll is a highly skilled surgeon and artist. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery with another surgeon in the area which was botched with several complications and a poor result requiring several reconstruction surgeries. I came to Dr. Mancoll for a second opinion and, in hindsight, I wished I had seen him in the first place for my reconstruction! My professional and personal opinion is that his professionalism, kindness, patience, and dedication to high quality work, are unmatched in the Tidewater area. Thankfully, I underwent my final breast reconstruction surgeries with him including implant removals and bilateral DIEP procedures (which i probably should have had to begin with). I am almost 5 years out from my CA diagnosis now and, i can now say my reconstruction is completed and my nightmare is finally over. The final results of my reconstruction with him are better than i could have ever imagined. I will forever be indebted to this phenomenal doc who took care of me like i was his family. It's stressful trying to find a surgeon you can trust to help you improve your body. I did a lot of research and finally came across Dr.Mancoll. The staff is so friendly and inviting, they make you feel assured and comfortable. I had a consult for a BBL and decided to go ahead with the surgery. Nurse Ashley Bradley did an evaluation of my bikini and armpits to see if I was a good candidate for laser hair removal. After my consultation, I could tell she was extremely knowledgeable and this was the right place to have my treatments. She set the right expectations and was very thorough with explaining the process and results to expect. After 7 treatments I have about 95% hair loss in the areas treated and will only return if I need a touch up next year! I rarely have to shave and it was only mildly uncomfortable during the treatment but pain subsided as soon as it was over! I highly recommend Ashley and this treatment if you are looking for a lower maintenance life style and she is both knowledgeable and super thorough- I love my results! read more

I paid $2500.00 for six ketamine infusions for depression. I Didn't know what to expect. I wasn't given any consultation by a doctor. The first day was pretty intense. I was tripping and disassociated. It was pretty interesting. I was a bit paranoid and anxious but stuck in there because I wanted to beat the depression. So I went back for 5 more. The first few were done in a private room with full privacy. No bright lights and no noise. Very relaxing, which helped me be comfortable. The last couple of treatments were different. I was put in a makeshift room that was attached to the reception area. There was noise and bright lights and commotion. The final treatment was in the same area. I asked to be in a room with privacy and was told no. I asked the girl who administered the infusion to close the curtain at least 5 times and she said she would but never did. During my infusion I could hear her and another girl whispering and laughing on and off. I kept hearing text alerts on one of the girl's cell phone. The door right by my bed was slamming constantly as the girl went in and out of what seemed to be a supply closet. I heard personal phone calls being made about picking up kids from school. The lights were so bright and the constant chatter and noise was very disturbing. I actually had a panic attack during the treatment that was supposed to be curing my anxiety and depression. After the first six treatments, I never had any doctor consultation. Never saw a doctor before or after the six treatments. After the last treatment, I was wheeled out to the parking lot in a wheel chair and the girl said "good luck". At over $400.00 per session, I should have been treated with more respect and dignity. Four of the six iv infusions started with several needle attempts which hurt and left me bruised. It seems like the young girls administering the iv were untrained and inexperienced. The outcome of the treatment is a success. I feel that the depression has lifted and I am on a new path to happiness. But..... I do feel that I should have seen a doctor prior to treatment and after treatment. Also, for anyone doing this treatment, make sure you are in a quiet dark room. I recommend the infusion if done in a proper environment. There is a treatment center in Williamsburg that I will be looking into for my follow up boosters. I have not been to Dr. Mancoll for about 3 years now. But have to post this. I had bilateral mastectomies. Dr Mancoll did the most amazing reconstruction. I recently went to see another plastic surgeon where I now live in Seattle. This new doctor raved about the amazing job Dr Mancoll did on me. New doc said he, himself could not do this fantastic of a reconciliation. Dr Mancoll made me feel whole again. Hr minimized my scares inside and out. Not only is his work extraordinary, he is one of the kindest people I ever met. And his staff is very helpful and genuinely kind! This man and his incompetent nurse put me thru HELL for the last 2 years. I had a breast reduction/lift in November of 2019, then when they messed me up I had to have a 2nd operation(skin graph) 15 days later. BOTH were failures and I have had almost 2 years of pain with results that leave me crying every time I look in the mirror. The Nurse left the needle in me after the first surgery and when we got home and took my coat off we called to ask why and she simply said "oops no that should have been taken out, go ahead and do that, sorry." Dr, Mancoll was even less concerned when he was told. That should have been my time to RUN to someone else but I had to trust him and his cruel treatment. When I asked him about what happened he ignored the question and put me off "could have been many things" after this news of his arrest I have to wonder just how messed up he was when he left me with a right breast SPLIT apart 3 inches and simply said sorry your having such a hard time. The last thing I told him on the last visit I had with him was "I don't feel better or look better, you didn't give me the pretty breast I asked/paid for, his response was, "I did give you pretty breast, you shouldn't have expected twins!!" Get that, this animal left me with a right breast that looks like Deadpool/Freddy Kruger said I expected too much. I hope they throw the book at him. As every medical professional who has seen me since has said "A man who left you like that is NO surgeon and not much of a human being either." If I could I would give Dr. John Mancoll hundred starts, not just five. Dr. Macoll and his team were amazing and took such a great care of me. I got a breast argumentation and came to the office a little bit nervous, cause it was my first surgery under general anesthesia, but he made me feel so comfortable and answered all my questions. I'm currently 2 weeks post-op and I absolutely LOVE my new breast. They are exactly what I wanted them to be (perfect size and they look so natural) and they even look like they should already have been on my body. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Mancoll and his staff. In April of 2011, my youngest son got stitches on the edge of his nose and because of the sensitive nature of the area, we were referred to Dr. Mancoll to monitor the situation as it healed. After removing the stitches, the two sides of the wound had become misaligned. In discussing our options, Dr. Mancoll recommended a procedure to re-shape and align the scar. After much soul searching about having our young son go through a surgical procedure, we decided to go through with it. So, in August of 2011 (we waited until the active summer months were past before doing it), we did. Throughout the entire procedure, Dr. Mancoll and the staff kept us informed of how things were going and afterward, he spent a great deal of time talking us through how everything went. Though it was a traumatic experience as parents, we were put at ease by Dr. Mancoll and his confidence, competence, professional demeanor, and his willingness to really explain everything to us. We went back for a couple of follow ups and Dr. Mancoll and his entire staff were always so great with our son. I am glad to report that while there is obviously a scar, it is barely noticeable unless you know to look for it. Though the reasons for our visits to Dr. Mancoll were far from pleasant, he made the experience as good as it could possibly be and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing cosmetic surgery. read more

I got a breast augmentation here in 2018 and I have to say that I had an amazing experience. The wait is always god-awful but it's because the doctor truly takes his time with his patients. I never felt rushed or pressured into any decisions and when I went back because I thought I wanted lipo he suggested against it because I didn't have that much fat on my body which I thought was nice because most people would've just taken the money. I recommend Dr. Mancoll to anyone considering plastic surgery. Everyone from the assistant, the nurses and the dr treat you amazing pre, during and post surgery. They are so kindhearted and truly make you feel comfortable. They even had a small bouquet of flowers for me when I woke up. I have never regretted my surgery and it has definitely made me happy, if I ever wanted to do another augmentation I would go back to Dr. Mancolls office. I was recommended by my gynecologist to see Dr. Mancoll. My gyno told he me is one of the best. It took forever to get an appointment, part of it was my fault since I had to reschedule once. I arrive 15 minutes early and waited for over an hour. 45 minutes into my wait, i asked the receptionist if i would be seen soon. She did apologize and said she would find out. After another 20 minutes i was over it and walked out. I took time off of work, to possibly spend several thousands of dollars and my time was totally disregarded. I didn't even get a phone call apologizing or offering to reschedule. Horrible service and i would not spend my money there. read more

I was very disappointed in his work. I saw this doctor for reconstruction after breast cancer diagnosis. I choose to have both breast removed even though I had cancer in only one breast, didn't want take the chance of recurrence. I had many reconstruction surgeries and finally when I couldn't get the surgery that would give me two breast and he said he had done all he could do I went to specialty shop for a prosthesis and bras. I just felt from the beginning I was not treated as well as cash paying customers that were going for surgery to improve their looks or a better looking body. When his assistant was going to take me to a room to show me different implants he told her I didn't need to do that. He showed me an expander and a implant and said that was what I was getting. So I didn't get to choose or showed any other options. When he told me he had done all he could do for me I gave up. My body looks deformed. I was 66 at the time and he blamed it on my radiation treatments. I even went through the dip surgery to move my belly tissue to my breast area but it caused me more pain because I started having bulges in my abdominal area I had physical therapy to try to breakdown the tissue that was causing the bulges and pain. I have so much depression because of what I look like without having a bra on. At least I felt at the time I was diagnosed with breast cancer the reconstruction was a positive but that failed and I feel I failed and it was my fault. It's like when the chemo made me loose my hair I said " it's summer and I don't have to shave my legs." When you're diagnosed with cancer you have to look for the positives. I was told my skin was not cooperating because of the radiation damage. After implants I would have my skin separated and you could see my implant. I kept saying I just want small breast and felt like maybe the implants were too large. read more

Awful! This man promised me the world and now I am in living hell. My large breasts had "bottomed out" and I had a very enlarged stomach. Dr. Mancoll promised me a tight stomach and firm breasts after a tummy tuck and breast lift at the price of $13,000 dollars. 4 months later my breasts are still "bottomed out", but now scarred and ugly and I still have fat rolls galore even after massive lipo and tummy tuck that have made me swollen and uncomfortable beyond anything I could imagine.
