LOVE this place! The service is always pleasant and personal. The food is always top-notch. Always hot, always fresh, always flavorful. Among my favorites: Cashew Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Beef with Broccoli (I always have them add pea pods, too!). Among the appetizers: Egg rolls, crabmeat rangoons, teriyaki beef, paper-wrapped chicken. And the Egg-drop soup is amazing! 2 star at best in my opinion. We had the general chows lunch and it was very bland. We also ordered crab rangoons (just ok, not great) and potstickers which take over 20 minutes to cook so they came out when we were done with our meal. I did not eat any potstickers as I am pregnant and they did not look fully cooked. The potstickers were cooked authentically (steamed and then fried) as my boyfriend used to live in Asia. I was so happy to see that Mandarin Garden was still in existence. Food was excellent and exactly the way I had remembered it (we moved away from GB 16 years ago, and have now returned). Solid Chinese in Green Bay. We got the almond chicken (which honestly I hate, but my husband loves... so palates, y'all) and the sesame chicken. Sesame chicken came with the sauce separate, which is honestly a nice deviation from the typical soggy sesame you get at most places. Portion was a little small, but very tasty and all white chicken. Had a desire for some good Chinese food and a buddy suggested Mandarin Garden in Green Bay. Upon entering we were greeted enthusiastically by the owner/hostess; we were seated quickly and offered a bowl of fried wonton chips with tasty sweet dipping sauce. I had deep fried Sesame Chicken, Fried Rice with Vegetables and hot, fresh tea which were served with Crab Meat Rangoon as an appetizer. The serving was more than ample for a hungry gent like me. I've been going to Mandarin Garden since it opened in 1984. It's my favorite Chinese restaurant, period. So believe me when I say something is wrong. The crab rangoon has changed completely...it's not even the same product. The paper wrapped chicken, once bursting through the foil, are as thin as the paper they are wrapped in. The chicken fried rice now has mystery meat instead of delicious chicken. The "face" of the restaurant, Naomi, is no longer working there. Just went there and was understaffed. Waited for a table for 6 having my 3 kids with. They then informed us after waiting 15 min that they could not move 2 tables together due to social distancing and the tables were measured out. This was quite possibly the worst Chinese food we've ever had. The Lo mein was actually spaghetti noodles with very little chicken - your basic beige nightmare. The General Tso's sauce was horrible, absolutely inedible. (Thank god it wasn't actually on the chicken). It looked like a warm, shiny gelatin blob with suspended chilis. The "chicken nuggets" were actually fine if you're 4 years old. The sweet and sour chicken sauce was pale, tasteless, and unusually thick. Our kids like dipping the "chicken nuggets" into the S&S sauce (Chinese ketchup they call it), but they wouldn't even try this one. Smart kids. The house fried rice was bland, absolutely nothing special about it. The egg rolls were totally sub-par, and how do you mess up a flipping egg roll? Greasy, skinny, and no discernible flavor. Normally, you can dip an egg roll in any sauce and enjoy, but these were just bad and the sauce was gross. I gave them 1 star because they were open during the Covid-19 quarantine and the other three places we've been to before we're not open. That should have been clue. read more

Went here for lunch today and was very disappointed. The one thing I love to have here is the WontonSoup which you get a choice of soup with the lunch special. We got to the restaurant around 1:30 they serve lunch until 3. We ordered and asked for the Wonton soup. The waitress then came back and stated that she forgot they turn the wonton soup off at 1:15, but we could have tomato beef or we could get extra rice. Really extra rice my son got that and it was dry and tasteless. My wife got nothing for replacement as the choices were not good. I find it odd they turn the soup off kind of made me wonder if they just turn it back on for supper-doesn't seem to be the safest. The actual food was mediocre at best. OK, NY Boy here. Yah kno, Chinatown-NYC / (Not so) Little Chinatown-Flushing. I've done $$$$ Chinese in Midtown & Sunday morning Dim Sum in Queens. The LAST thing I expected to find was REALLY GOOD chinese in the middle of Greenbay. Good enough to smack the snooty right out of this NY Boy. We stopped in for lunch on our way to Lambeau Field (Nephew's the Greenbay Fan) and were pleasantly surprised. This is a family run place, with a dated, mid 70's, decor but the service was above par. Fast, pleasant, accommodating, management & waitstaff are clearly familiar with the concept of a happy customer = a good customer. Their Lunch menu was on a Prix fixe format and I had wonton soup followed by garlic chicken with fried rice, egg roll and steamed dumplings. I'd swear the soup managed to remind me of good Matzoh ball AND Miso soups with each spoonful. The Garlic Chicken was generously stocked with nicely seasoned chicken (Lots of chinese places will overload dishes with veggies in order to save on meat), while the veggies were crisp, fresh, and well cooked. The dumplings where a little small but after all the tasty food I ended up sharing with everyone else. And the pricing? More than affordable. If ever I'm in the Greenbay area again, I'm going to make sure to stop in. read more

I live in Seattle but found myself in Green Bay apartment hunting with a friend who is relocating there. It was a little funny not seeing anyone Chinese in the restaurant eating or serving - in Seattle most of the people running Chinese restaurants are Chinese and a good Chinese restaurant will have Chinese clientele - not so in GB. They up charge for everything (asked for extra spicy, charged me $1 and didn't tell me when I asked.) Only have one soup choice for lunch specials. Food and service are average at best. We were driving through Green Bay and wanted Chinese...saw the sign and stopped in. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found. Ashley waited on us and did a great job! She was friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu. We decided to try the "Favorite Dinner", for two people. You get egg rolls, and crab meat rangoon as appetizers. Then, you can chose a soup and an entree. I tried the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and was glad that I did! A man at another table even stopped by ours to ask what smelled so good...he was impressed and did not even get to taste the food. Even though there was plenty of food served, we did not have any leftovers...it was too good to chance a warm up later. Had eggrolls- very average at best- asked for won ton soup and waitress says 'oh, we only serve soup for 2 or 4 people. I looked at her & smiled thinking she was just kidding but alas, they don't offer a single portion size! Amazing. I went ahead and ordered the portion for 2 and when she brought out the oversize bowl, i started to look for won tons and there were 6 tiny won tons buried in the huge broth bowl. There were some other items in the soup that tasted ok but that 'portion-for-2' was actually barely a portion for 1 based on the won ton size but at 4.95. The entree of Schewan Shrimp was decent but not anything worth coming back for. In all, i would not recommend this place to anyone that has been to any mid-size city that has chinese restaurant offerings, let alone large cities that offer excellent chinse restaurants as this place does NOT hold a candle to them! read more

We always have consistently good food here and have been coming here for several years when we get to GB. I used to love the Chinese food at Toy's in Milwaukee and always compare it to them. This is the only restaurant that is just as good. The food is pleasantly served and the service is quick. You never feel rushed. The staff is pleasant and the atmosphere is clean.
