We had a day or two to spend in Valencia and found ourselves by the beach and Marina. We had built up an appetite during the two hour drive here and happened to notice that Manero Molla was Michelin rated and, And! - they were opening up at 11:00 a.m. so we walked here directly from the beach (just site seeing and no swimming for us) and as we got to the front door, they opened up and we found ourselves face to face with our server. There was a quick "welcome" and we were seated immediately. I have to tell you, this is one of the cutest and sharpest restaurants that I've been to in a long time. There's an attention to detail here that makes you feel like you're in an upscale yet casual setting, which makes it perfect for tourists, foodies, business people, Influencers, a couple on a date, folks on the gram, etc.. Heck, even the men's restroom was very cool, complete with a mirrored ceiling. (Please check out my pic). Our server managed to understand my limited Spanish. She had a pretty good understanding of English and spoke zero Filipino. What ever she recommended, we said "Si (yes)." Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and let yourself be surprised. - the Bacalao (cod) in tomato sauce was excellent. The fish was very soft and the sauce was rich and thick. Perfect for dipping your buttered bread and we sopped it all up. I felt like Oliver Twist, I wanted to ask for more, because I'll do anything.. - I never thought I would appreciate artichoke as much as I did, it came topped with creamed eel sauce. So unagi lovers - order this!! - I also enjoyed the healthy arugula salad and its peppery bite. I had this with the complimentary bite size pieces of toast/crackers. Finally, we had the bread pudding with ice cream as a treat. What a yummy way to end a meal. Once again, so glad to walk right into a Michelin rated restaurant and not have 40 people in line, and in front of you (I'm calling you out Kasama!!). In resumen, Great ambiance, food and service.
