There are all these little cute binders, notebooks, pins, pens, desk lamps. Although a small store, I could have spent at least 30-45 min in there just perusing their goods. I ended up getting a beautiful journal with a "pen band" to hold the pens I would use with the journal. I also got a rotating calendar that shows the fruits and vegetables that are in season at the time. There was a beautiful desk lamp in the shape of a book that turns on when you open it and turns off when it's closed. So beautiful. Their products remind me of similar things you might find in a Japanese stationery store. You want to know what the best part was? They gave us a reusable bag after our purchase to carry our items!

Thankfully I'm not one so I just found the largest mailing tube that they carried (no one else has a larger one, or even one of that size) and carried it out. I'm trying to become more hands-on (literally) with my correspondences of late…read more Everyone can send a text message or email, but who takes the time to search out a card shop, mill over the selection, think about the recipient while your perusing and pick out something you hope will please their senses most, pay the much higher fee for said card than sending a free electronic message, fill out the card, and then, and this is the worst part, go to the post office and wait on an interminable line to send your card? Based on the imbalanced pros and cons, there seems little future for paper cards and airmail, which is why old school letter writing is such a powerful statement, beyond what is actually said. With that in mind, I was delighted to discover the amazing selection of cards at this mom and pop papeterie while hoping to make a splash this mother's day and for my upcoming wedding anniversary. I picked up three great cards and relished every second of my experience. I'm going to try and make this a habit from now on when the occasion calls for it.

Work from this time is hard to find. Marc has an extensive selection of Parisian Art Nouveau and Art Deco printed matter from posters to postcards and some original pieces. He is highly reputable and an expert in his field. Browsing through his shop was a joy. I bought two 1890s calendar pieces for a fair price. Shop hours are 2 to 7 Tuesday to Saturday.
