This place is fucking awesome. I definitely have them in my rotation. I have many great Italian joints that I can order from. This place is really second than none. I had delivery as I am currently not very mobile after hip replacement surgery. Their delivery driver was excellent followed specific directions perfectly. The food was outstanding had a stuffed artichoke, which was arguably one of the best I've ever had. I also had a dozen baked clams. They were outstanding. Cheeseburger pizza cooked perfectly. I also had the cheese tortellini in a Bolognese sauce and I added pancetta and peas. This was fantastic as well. I will definitely order again very soon. read more

A last minute lunch decision turned into my favorite dining experience so far this year! A customers recommendation brought us to this quaint, cozy little Italian restaurant near their office. Turned out to be near perfection (my opinion, of course)! Starting with the tender, perfectly seasoned and cooked Calamari and best I've ever had Bruschetta, things only got BETTER! By suggestion of my client, a regular, I ordered the 12" Chicken, Bacon, BBQ pizza which was their second smallest size. A perfect blend of all elements and one of the best pies I've ever eaten. I could only manage eating less than half and I was full! My two compadres both ordered the Rigatoni a la Vodka and of course offered some to me. Sometimes you gotta take a chance-and sometimes you find a winner. Like this joint here. Not exactly the prettiest place on a strip of York Road that isn't too pretty to start off with. We had a last minute dinner to schedule for a party of 8 on a Friday night, and this place just happened to be able to accommodate. Like I said, not a palace on the outside-but nice inside. We did apps for the table-2 orders of Calamari one grilled, one fried, both fab! Sausage and peppers, great!, Seafood Chowder-unexpected in an Italian joint, but VERY good. Clams were off the hook! The menu doesn't spring any surprises, but the Specials menu makes you go "hmmmm". I had one of them, a Scallops Pappardelle in light cream sauce that was really yum. A couple of the lads had Ribeye Steaks they reported to be grand. We had one timid eater in the crew who asked if they could just do Mostaccioli with marinara, and they complied readily--he reported it was delicious. I had TiramiSu and a double Espresso to finish--a great finish to a great meal. Saw a couple pizzas come out of the kitchen and they looked really good! REALLY Warm service-nice folks, indeed. Long overdue review. I held a family gathering for 40 people and the team at Mangia Napoli didn't disappoint. The exceeded expectations. Service was very good. Attentive staff and well thought out table setting. The food was great and was served family style. Today we had my Grandmothers luncheon here. The food was fantastic! I've worked at numerous Italian restaurants over the span of 25 years and everything was exceptional. There was about 50 of us and nobody had to ask for anything.. waters were refilled, extra bread was at the table and every single one of the staff members were friendly and accommodating. Woah! Wow and Mamma Mia! We decided to order family style. Joe... my BIL's best friend is VERY Italian (go figure) and he said this was the best italian he's ever had and that it rivals what he has and makes at home. We got two salads that had a vinegar and oil and spice mix for salad dressing and all I could do was soak up what remained with their phenomenal bread (even!). The gnocchi vodka was dense but balanced. The chicken parmigiana was on point as was their marinara!!! Their tortellini Alfredo though was the unexpected tie for hit of the party with their meatballs. Oh and their tomato bisque soup was as well done as their garlic cheesy bread. This was one of the most bland pizzas I've ever tasted. Sauce had no flavor. Cheese had no flavor. We spent $60 getting a medium thin crust and a medium stuffed crust delivered through Doordash. Both were disappointing. Buying two Digiorno's or Screamin' Sicilian frozen pizzas would've been more satisfying in terms of flavor and $50 cheaper. The only reason this isn't a 1 star rating is because they at least got the order right. That's worth something. If someone offered me this pizza for $5 I'd go to Domino's instead. My wife and I have been eating here for years and usually a nice dining experience. Today however my wife and I with our two grandchildren were celebrating our 44th anniversary. The food was wonderful as usual until a party of 12 arrived, at that point our table became invisible. Like we were not even there. We were not asked for refills on drinks, we were done eating for at least 15-20 min before being offered a take home box (portions are huge here), then next thing here comes a different server asking if were ready for the bill. ? I've been here a few times now and it's worth the drive to Elmhurst. First and foremost, walking in - there is a bartender that is so friendly! Makes you feel welcomed immediately, if I didn't have to drive I'd sit at the bar for a couple of drinks! This is not on there regular menu, it's a specialty item and I cannot get over how good it was - short rib cappallacci - I think that's what it's called. Just so incredibly good. I've called a few times to see if it's on the menu for the day, but I always miss it - sad. Every pasta I've tried has been excellent, the most recent, rigatoni vincenzo, and pizza is thin and crispy and perfect amount of ingredients. Lemon drop martini, yum, so good. read more

This is a great little local Italian restaurant in the burbs! We've been here twice now and both times the food and service was nice. The standout dish both time, Zuppa de Pesce. It's $$ but really worth it! Packed full of delicious seafood, it's enough for a table of 4 to share. Everything else we ordered was just ok, not bad, just ok. The upside is nothing is oily or lacking in flavor! I can't say anything bad about the food but the prices are now out of site and the service is going down hill. I have been a long time customer there and always did both dine in and carry out. My most recent week as a customer there goes like this, Monday ordered a carry out pizza, Friday had sit down indoor dinning of Clams and soup for two people, Saturday ordered carry out pizza, Sunday "Father's Day" with my children totaling 7 people. My wife and I have always had baked clams and soup. (Our favorite) Baked clams were $10/ for 1/2 dz. and $20 for a dz. That is the price listed on their carry out menu but for dine in their menu is $13/for 1/2 dz. and $26 for a dz. that is a 30% increase and it bothered me very much seeing the unjustified increase. I asked to see the owner and she came and tried to justify the increase as overhead being higher. If the carryout appetizer price was the same as the dine in price it might slipped by unnoticed, but the 30% difference stood out boldly. I'm not sure how badly the other entrée prices have been increased over and above the carry out menu but I'm sure they a substantial. I feel that Mangia Napoil; has become extremely over priced except for pizza. I don't buy that because dine in gets wine sales and other beverages along with multiple entrees at higher prices than carry outs. Also it can't be because anything has been upgraded in the last 20 years because nothing has been done. The parking lot barely seems paved, when I got out of my car I was in loose gravel. Remodeling interior or exterior are nonexistent and no contribution to sizable increases to dine in prices. The service was much better when they had women servers. Our last server was the same server from my Friday visit and remembered us. He took the orders and never asked what type of pasta we wanted or what sauce we wanted. One of my Grandchildren wanted Vodka sauce and I was never asked but I got that, and it is my least favorite. If there was any way that I could see a reason justification for the additional increases it would be fine. Unfortunately I see it as price gouging and I don.t like feeling that I am being abused by a place where I have been a loyal customer. Not any longer and my extended family will also stop any future visits to what had been my favorite local Italian establishment. read more

This is a good family ran Italian restaurant. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. The have freshly baked bread ... I could not get enough of it. The olive oil on the table for dipping was so pure it was probably one of the best olive oils I've had. I ordered a pasta and when I took my first bit I had to stop and savor.. I was not expecting the flavor to be soo good. It was like the saying "makes me wanna slap my momma" it was soo good.
