Carpaccio with rocket and parmesan – not bad!
    Brian C.

I came here for the two-course lunch special (€11.50) and was very disappointed with the food, especially after reading all the stellar reviews. For my starter, I ordered the carpaccio, which was pretty decent, but not good enough for me to come back and order it again. For my entrée, I was debating between the burger and the sea bass, but I made the unfortunate mistake of ordering the burger. I saw three other locals in the restaurant order this as well, so I thought it must be delicious. Boy was I wrong! The burger had a weird curry flavor and there was nothing in it but a few lettuce scraps glued on with some white sauce. I was really excited to try this place but in the end, I was let down.

    Pre-made Manhattan. Lovely presentation.

This place is wonderful! I took my family here to celebrate my sister's work achievements. Our dinner for four, was - all appetizers from the menu - all seafood small bites from the menu - one small meat platter - bottle of wine - couple manhattans Total cost was 202 Euro, + 30 Euro tip I loved everything! Felt like they were understaffed.

    Private dining area.

This is a fairly new joint in the heart of Berlin's exciting Mitte borough. Most tourists may discover it while strolling around nearby Rosenthaler Platz and also Hackesche Höfe. Torstrasse still breathes the morbid charme and architecture of cold war Berlin, but trendy businesses, restaurants and bars are claiming this area reminiscent of NYC's village or Beijing's Nanluogu Xiang hutong.

It is so romantic with the dimmed lights, and we were so happy to see the DJ here during our meal.

I don't know how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars; if I could give it 6, I would…read more First: the food is absolutely delightful. There are tons of options, including many vegetarian ones, and I have yet to try a dish that wasn't beautifully made, with balanced, light flavors. There are lots of beans, lentils, vegetables, yogurt-based sauces, olives, cheeses, stews, bread, tea, three or four variety of starchs--rice, couscous, bulgur, etc-, burek, fried stuff, baked stuff, boiled stuff.... Sometimes, if I need to eat one meal in a day, I'll go here. Second: the people that work here come from various places--Turkey, Lebanon, Germany, Cuba...ALL of them (that I've met) are friendly, generous, and welcoming (and patient as I point at the different foods to pile my plate with!). The atmosphere of the restaurant is awesome: a clean, simple yet warm vibe, classical music playing, and a back room where you can look onto the back yard. Third: you are getting ALL of this for either 7 or 9 Euro. I come from NYC, where one can easily--and in fact often does--pay twice that amount for food half as good. SUPPORT places like this, that offer lovingly made, healthy, delicious food for good prices....this is my favorite restaurant BY FAR in the neighborhood, and there are many other good ones here. I've brought about 4 friends here and all of them have been blown away...one even told me the next day, "dude, I can't stop thinking about that restaurant!".

I was quite amazed at how much food could fit on one plate! The service was amazing & such heart-felt. I would recommend this place to anyone! Although bear in mind there is not a whole lot of space to sit.

We went…read morearound 6pm without a reservation and I didn't think we'd be able to get in given it was a Friday night and the place is usually quite busy, but I think we were early enough to manage to get it. We opted for the Dinner w Friends and drinks menu where the chef decides which meals will come out and unlimited beer/wine are included (for 75€ which is a great deal!). You have a 2 courses where multiple dishes will come out at once - a nice balance of appetizer and fish, meat and vegetable plates. All are shareable and very delicious. Everything was so flavorful! I especially loved their salmon ceviche which was more like a salmon poke, in a Bloody Mary sauce which was so unique and interesting! The sesame seed "bagel" with the pickled veg and tahini sauce were also phenomenal. Throughout our meal, our waiter would come by to check in on what we'd want to drink also while offering shots haha. Everything was fantastic but I'd say the only thing that was just okay was the dessert. They brought 2, one was a chocolate truffle dish and the other was some sort of "cake" made from sorghum flour topped with pistachios. The truffles were good but much too rich and the cake was a little bit of an interesting texture although fine flavor, but nothing that exciting. Otherwise it was a fabulous place to eat and I'd totally go back!

Like other reviews say this restaurant is tucked away in a cute little area with other local businesses and lots of foliage - beautiful. There were a lot of people and it was a bit loud, but you could tell everyone was just happy to be there and enjoying each others company. The service was great - we were even offered shots multiple time throughout our meal which was fun. But truly, the star was the food. We ordered the bagel, the burrata, the broccolini, the braised beef and the chicken thighs. My personal standouts were the broccolini and the chicken, but everything was truly amazing. The broccolini was plated on a skordalia sauce - which I had never heard of - but nearly licked off the plate. The chicken thighs though...are probably the best thing I've ever eaten. Unique, juicy, sweet, savory, creamy, umami, everything. I will dream about that dish until my next trip to Berlin, you just have to get it. Overall, Night Kitchen is definitely worth the hype and I highly recommend anyone considering it to (1) go and (2) make a reservation to secure your spot.
