To take and collect me an hour later, hour before due to leave home call to say return journey cancelled! As doctors to go so daughter in lunch hour came to get me a bus home but then taxi turned up! Thought just a blip how wrong was i! 29th July booked a taxi to take me and a carer shopping and to bring me home 2 hours later which I was looking forward to! Then hour before received phone call to say no taxi available and phone went down no apologies nothing! Not good enough cause I'm disabled don't I matter? The taxi I received for 8 of us was perfect, most of all the driver Craige was polite, charming and very attentive, I could not rave about him enough. In fact, we all included him in our conversations. All my guests have asked for Avenue Taxis telephone number, Craige made such an impression on us all. People easily write about negatives, but we need to acknowledge when someone has done well as in this case. A return trip was booked, on their phone app. So easy to use and to pay in advance and I have no objection to that as the are so reliable. At exactly the booked time my phone told me that the taxi was outside and described the car (very safe if it's a single female travelling). Friendly driver who drove us to the restaurant safely and swiftly. We left the restaurant at the time booked for the taxi. As we left my phone, once again, told us the taxi was outside and the car type and registration. Fantastic, reliable, safe, reasonably priced company. And using it supports a local company.

I was with my 73 year old mum trying to cross the carpark in Freeport Braintree. The driver was laughing at us. Shocking behaviour! no wonder you can't review them on other sites.

Only issue is that we paid the app estimated fare rather than the meter fare which was much lower. Upon enquiry it turned out you pay for getting the taxi out to Kentford on top of the fare. This is a hidden cost that is not transparent.
