Anyway, when Mr. Snarky suggested we go bowling after dinner, instead of a movie... I was pretty excited. We remembered there was a bowling alley across from where I have my car serviced. From the outside, it kind of looks like a warehouse. For a Wednesday night, they were fairly busy! There is no smoking inside (hurrah!) and it actually looks newer than I anticipated. I don't know how long they have been there, but compared to a Hollywood Bowl that we went to, it looks in much better shape. The staff are very friendly and we found out that they have an offer on Wednesday nights for 3 games and a drink for £12 (per person). For drinks you can choose from soft drinks to a glass of red/white wine or a pint of Tetley's or Carlsburg. We had trouble finding the bowling balls the right weight and with the right sized finger holes (I don't think there is a way I can word this without someone giggling...), so that was a bit of an issue. The lanes look well-kept and the music was a nice mix of new and old music. They have a small arcade game area with air hockey and pool to the back corner. It also looked like they had had a birthday party in earlier, so clearly an all-purpose venue. It is kind of a hidden gem considering it is not grouped in with the leisure park. Will definitely be back for a rematch with Mr. Snarky!

It's clean, the staff are nice and there are plenty of lanes - a few on the ground level and plenty more upstairs. Unfortunately, though there are lanes on the ground floor, there are a few steps leading down to them from bar seating area, making it difficult to access for people in wheelchairs - Doncaster or Castleford are better for disabled access. The superbowl's got a little bar and a cafe (a wimpy I think) as well as a few video games. It's not in central Wakefield but it's only about 15 minutes walk, there's a bus that goes right past, and it's got its own carpark.I'd recommend going on one of the party, where you get all night bowling with a DJ on and a free basket meal for about £12. Cheesy, but fun.

I've been living in Stoke for 2 and a half years now for academic purposes, but I've never been here. I went with two friends the other day and it cost £6.99 each, for Unlimited Bowling between 12pm and 6pm. In that time I think we must've had about 20 games+, definitely worth the money. The only downside was the quality of the balls. The balls were absolutely horrendous, and what can only be described as the cratering you see on the moon. On the upside, and the reason why I am giving this place 4 stars is because of the staff. They were absolutely magnificent. I've never had customer service like it. They were so outrageously helpful, so enthusiastic and kind. Obviously, we were customers but they made sure everything was fine. Also, we had food whilst we were there and for a bowling alley, it wasn't too bad! This place would definitely have had 5 stars if it wasn't for the quality of the balls.

When I arrived I was…read moretold my lane was delayed so for compensation I could get the games I had come for as soon as a lane became free and could get some vouchers for extra games at another date. With 10 minutes we were placed on a lane. 20 minutes later my family and I were told we had to leave as they had double booked us and they were delayed. I was offered a refund. My sons birthday was ruined and after driving for 3 hours to get there as this was the only hollywood bowl with space to book on a Saturday. My 11 year son was so disappointed and was left embarrassed that I had asked family members to travel so far to be removed from the activities through no fault of my own. This was an awful experience and I would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone booking a visit here.
