As stated by a previous reviewer, this newspaper is not properly edited. I find myself fully distracted by the grammar of almost every article. It would make excellent source material for high school English teachers. To be fair, writing for a small town newspaper in 2020 can't possibly be lucrative. I imagine that the contributors consider it a labor of love. read more

After reading this newspaper for several years the cheerleading for growth in Manteca is annoying. Without question the curb appeal of Manteca as a community is not very good unless one is a fan of increased traffic, accidents,delays at rail crossings, homeless encampments, as well as hwater restrictions, crime, blowing trash .... read more

Left Pacifica in '85 ( salt air was rusting my motorcycle ), to Calaveras for 35 yrs.... Came back to Earth 5 yrs. ago when we moved down here after retirement. We love it here. I'm pleased with the paper. Small town, hard to ask for more. I like crime and incident reports, and while I don't see as much of that as I'd like, I feel that people are overly judgmental for a small town paper. This isn't The Oakland Tribune. I like Mr. Wyatt's opinions. Keep up the good work folks. I'm sure you're doing the best that you can. read more

I have been a subscriber to this publication over 15 yrs. and the Ripon Record when it was still in publication. I liked that the Manteca Bulletin stepped up and helped fill the news gap after Ripon Record ceased operations. The local sports coverage is awesome, the reporting is in depth and the editor does what an editor should do - write an editorial that is his opinion after studying the facts of the matter. You may not always agree with Mr Wyatt's opinion but he goes to great lengths to explain his position. Sometimes that can be controversial but he won't shy away from a difficult or complicated issue. The paper is usually there when I leave the house each morning @ 6:30 so kudos to my delivery person as well. read more

The Executive Editor, Dennis Wyatt, has written some quite biased "news" articles that push his personal agenda and include gratuitous use of his own opinion. The consistent violation of journalistic ethics is disappointing. There's also a distinct lack of attention to editing in general; I find that most stories have issues with sentence construction and grammar as well as typos, spelling errors and general readability issues. The writing can be borderline incoherent at times. I will say that it's a good looking paper with well designed pages. It's just too bad that the content doesn't rise to that same level. Local papers should be trustworthy sources of objective community reporting, not platforms for silly amateurs to play newspaper. Get it together over there, guys; this is embarrassing. read more

I worked for the paper briefly delivering it daily. When I realized I was bleeding money I quit. The pay was bad for the huge route and hours I spent driving ... And yet even if I worked only briefly I never got paid. Had emails back and forth with the woman who did the hiring and was told the check would be mailed or someone would drive it over . Never happened. Never got paid. I even emailed the Bulletin again this week stating the problem and never even received an answer. SHAME on this paper. A worker is worthy of their hire. Even if it was only a brief hire. So if anyone is wondering if they should deliver for this paper, be warned. read more

We have been subscribers for almost six years. We have always received our paper on time. This newspaper does an excellent job of covering local news for Manteca, Ripon, and Lathrop in addition to same news available in Stockton and Modesto papers. We have not found another comprehensive resource of local information. We appreciate the selection of columnists with competing views so that we can evaluate both sides of issues and make up our own minds. read more

I have been a customer of the Bulletin for over 40 years. Service has never been so bad. If we get our paper it is anywhere from 7:00am to 9:30. We have complained numerous times to no avail. Try calling the circulation department, if you get through the mailbox is full. I am canceling my service. read more

I would agree with the person who posted about the rude personnel, exact same thing happened to me. Called this morning & spoke to "Liz" who was unnecessarily rude. Same thing, was calling to inquire about an article/photo taken at my son's school for a special award. Did not see it published today, wanted to see if I missed it yesterday. She said "you can come in and check the papers yourself". I asked if there was anyway SHE could look at yesterday's paper to check if it was there, (especially since their paper is only like 4 measly pages, how hard is it for her to just check & save me a trip). She checked, came back on the line & said "nope". What a miserable lady, you should retire or find a new job if yours is so hard to answer phones of people from the community! Bye Felicia! read more

The last couple years things have been going downhill with my delivery. In the last week my paper has been soaked!!! Unreadable because it is soaked thru. I called and left my information and someone called to verify my address and they never showed with my paper- I had to call again the next day and then they did not deliver it until the next day after the second call. Today again the paper is soaked! I had to call again. then you get a machine not a person - so frustrating!! Last summer I had to keep calling them because the delivery person was throwing the paper in the gutter where sprinkler run off was flowing or on the lawn while the sprinklers were going. Really thinking about just cancelling it just not worth the hassle!!! Wish I could just get Saturday's paper for the ads. read more

I would give them no stars! They are the rudest most unhelpful people I've ever encountered! I called to ask if they would know when an article will be published for my son, he won a special award at school. Her answer was no and no again. That's it.
