My friend and I enjoyed a lovely couples massage and facial at Manthra. We booked the appointment only a few hours before arriving and had a delightful time from beginning to end. We pretty easily found the location thanks to the neon green SPA sign affixed to the wall - stylish and helpful! Upon arriving, our services are started on time and neither of us had any complaints. My massage therapist was a bit of a talker which I didn't mind (I'm also sure I could have asked for less or communication if I desired) and I was very relaxed throughout, nearly dozing off a couple times including during the facial. Once we wrapped up, they provided us with hot tea and we oriented ourselves comfortably in the lobby before exiting. The consigliere at Hotel Zocalo Central recommended this Spa; glad they did. The 90 minutes relaxing was time and money well spent. After a 5+hour plane trip from the east coast of the USA my muscles and mind needed relaxing and this did the trick. I did this on our 3rd day of our trip and wished I had done it on day one. The entryway looks a little rough from the outside but no worries, it's a different story inside. I felt safe. They spoke more English than I did Spanish and we worked it out, thanks to their good humor. Try looking for them using WhatsApp. That is what they used to confirm my appointment. Came here and used their steam room. It was a nice experience and they had a robe for me to change into as well. I had my own little steam bath area and everyone was super nice! This place is absolutely fabulous. Before I continue, allow me to preface this review with some background. I have traveled the world extensively and wherever I go there are three things I always do. Ride horses, SCUBA and get a massage. I've had shiatsu in Japan, Thai in several places (Brazil, Costa Rica, Columbia) and deep tissue wherever they don't offer the aforementioned. At the Mandarin Oriental Shanghai, they have highly trained and very skilled masseuse. At the Mandarin Oriental in NYC; same thing! And as you'd imagine, of course, it's very expensive. For $1200 pesos ($60 US) I just had the best massage of my life. Yeah, no kidding. My gals name is Belinda and I'm telling you, there is no one better. And fellas, before you ask, NO, it's not that kind of place. I was sore as hell from lifting so I didn't want the full torture, sorry, I mean Thai, thusly I asked her for a 90 minute deep tissue with a little Thai thrown in. And she not only did this, she implemented it in all the right areas- thighs, hip flexors etc. I'm telling you, she's AMAZING!!! I included a picture of Belinda. I know, when you say a lady masseuse delivers a great deep tissue or Thai, you expect her to look like the gal I had in Tallinn, Estonia- a combination of Martina Navratilova and Rosanne Barr. One of the best massages I've ever had!. I am not a person who usually writes reviews. But, this place deserves it. I came to Mexico City for a business trip and after a long week of work, I was looking for a way to relax. I decided to give this spa a try. My experience started by checking their offers in their website. Their website is a little confusing though. But, the staff clarified my questions through the chat. I decided to go with the " 90 min masaje relajante" (relaxing massage). I booked the massage on-line and I was able to use Paypal to pay for it. During the booking I was able to pick the masseur too, which I though was nice. So, I picked Bernardo. The place is in a safe residential area. It's a walking distance from "El Angel de la Independencia". When I got there, everything was spotless. It smelled wonderful. The staff were super friendly and made me feel very welcomed. Being in another country is not easy. Sometimes you don't know what to expect. So, I spoke with Bernardo. He speaks very decent English. So, he walked me through the whole process. I took a shower before the massage. The shower was a little small though. But, I guess is OK being in Mexico City with 20 million people. Before my massage, I told Bernardo the areas that were bothering me. So, he focused on those a little more. The massage was so relaxing I fell asleep lol. It was one of the best massages I have ever had! Bernardo was very professional. The place was not busy at that time. So, they let me sleep for a bit. I really like this place.
