This place was amazing! The niece was obscured by the fog, but I think that just added to the beauty. It was a long trip out here, and totally worth it. The ride here was just as beautiful as the point. Loved it! read more

This is what the end of the earth feels like being allll the waaaayyy out here . This lighthouse has a lot of history supporting the ships coming into the Manukau Harbour. The light house has a station master who helps with the piloting of ships . What a job !! I think you'd have to be a special kind of person to live such a isolated lifestyle. You can see over to Whatipu and Huia it's such a hoot to think the harbour is not that far across. There are a lot of photos in the lighthouse which you can walk up into with its very narrow staircase (mind your head ) . A good hours drive from the township of Waiuku it makes for a great day with a detour to some of the beaches on the way back . read more
