Manya's has been our family jeweler for many years and is the top jeweler to go to! Recently, I had visited them to check a couple of diamond rings that I had acquired. Mayna immediately caught what the seller, and even the previous seller did not catch and stated that these are not natural diamonds. I then went to the diamond district in downtown LA and verified what they said was true. The two diamond rings were not diamonds, even though other tests passed as diamonds. We were referred here by some of my wife's coworkers, who had said Manya was fantastic. My previous jeweler had left the country, perhaps fleeing something, so I was looking for a new one that I could trust. And to be honest, let's start by acknowledging that I am not a very trusting person. I walked in by myself, with my wife's wedding ring, and wanted to know if they could tighten up the stone, as two of the prongs were loose. Manya put me right at ease from the beginning. She reassured me and walked me through how the process would work if I decided to leave the ring there for repairs. She was very candid about her process, and I immediately felt like she was someone I could trust. She revealed things about her business that she didn't have to do, so I think that put me at ease a little. She is also sympathetic to the family business and offers some discounts. She is family oriented, and most of the people that work there are family. She offered to custom re-design my wife's ring but gave customer centered advice about it. I left and told my wife about her and we came back a couple weeks later to discuss the design with her. My wife also loved Manya, as she seemed so down to earth, friendly and really cares about making her customers happy. She introduced us to her children, who are frequently there. After we decided to have them re-design the ring, she insisted that we keep our stone while they designed the band. And when we returned to set the stone, she again insisted that I go into the back room and watch her husband set it. I watched them do their work, which was fascinating to me. We spent more than we were planning to but again, the prices were reasonable and we are both so happy with the results. Everytime my wife goes to the mall, Manya asked her to bring the ring in so they can inspect it, shine it and make sure it is still set well. Very, very unhappy with a ring we had made here after the diamond fell out of the setting. My husband has been a really good customer here for years and spent a lot of money here. In 2015 he brought his mom's and grandmother's wedding ring here and had a surprise wedding ring made for me. He presented it to me in Paris, when he asked me to marry him. Later I came back with him to have it sized. When I met Manya, I didn't care much for her. She was one of those women who's rude and dismissive towards you, but very chatty and friendly to your husband. (What's up with that? ) I found it to be a pretty ballsy quality for someone selling wedding rings and other jewelry. Not a great way to attract clients. Nevertheless, since my husband had already been doing business there for some years, I ignored her annoying personality and decided if he liked her jewelry that much (I actually think her husband did business at his business) why not design his wedding band there. Since he seemed to trust them, I gave them a very special diamond from my deceased brother, whom I was extremely close to, to have placed in my husband's wedding band. We spared no expense and had a beautiful platinum ring made. It did turn out to be beautiful and I ended up having some diamond earrings made as well. Later, I brought my son here here for his custom wedding ring, as well. That said, I usually sent Rick to deal with Manya, because i didn't like her and I felt that he had a better business relationship with her. (In other words, I don't think she would've treated me nearly as fair as she did my husband). That was my first mistake. I probably should have gone with my gut, but I wanted to give her business the benefit of the doubt. Long story short, my husband came home today and told me that his diamond fell out of his wedding ring at work. The setting was made incorrectly and the diamond was placed wrong. He and another manager found the diamond on the floor after they searched for it, and he brought it home in an envelope. See photos. I'm beyond pissed at the shabby workmanship done by Manya, and I'll never walk into this place again. If they try to infer that my husband was hard on the ring, I'll laugh. My husband and I started going here about 3 years ago when Manya helped him design my engagement ring. They used diamonds from my mother's engagement ring to create a new design for my own-- and I loved it. However, from there, things went downhill fast. After wearing my engagement ring for only 3 weeks, I lost one of the diamonds from the halo. Manya told me I lost the diamond because I was being too rough with my ring, and I, knowing nothing about jewelry, decided to trust her. She told me diamond rings should only be worn when going out, that I should take it off each time I'm home, and that I shouldn't wear it to work, cook, etc. This seemed extreme- many of my female friends and family, told me they've never taken their rings off, and they haven't lost any diamonds. However, Manya was friendly, she seemed knowledgeable, she was sympathetic when I was upset about losing one of my mother's diamonds. So, I heeded her advice. A few months go by, and I lose another diamond. I went in to have it repaired, and I met with one of the reception gals-- she told me they had a new policy-- all rings needed to be checked every 6 weeks to fall under her protection. This should have been my first red flag: most other jewelers have a 6-MONTH policy. Regardless, I went every 6 weeks and marked each visit on my calendar. I spoke to Manya again after losing another diamond, she said I lost the diamond because I must have broken the diamond itself. She said it was because of my setting, it was more delicate than other rings, and, per usual, she said I was too rough and must have done it myself. Then I lose another diamond a few months later--my 3rd since she constructed the ring 2+ years ago. At this point I'm definitely questioning Manya- I'm not that rough with my hands. She repeats her earlier explanations and tells me it's my fault, I need to be gentler, etc. Of course, a few months later, I lose yet another diamond from my halo. I spoke with Manya about it and asked why this kept happening. I was direct, I was angry, I was sad. This shouldn't be happening and I want something done to prevent it from happening again. Losing FOUR diamonds in THREE YEARS due to less-than daily wear (remember, she told me only to wear it out) is unacceptable. She repeats the same excuses-- I'm too rough, it's my fault, etc. To be clear-- I work in an office. How can I be breaking diamonds while I type? I'm baffled. She then goes on to tell me that in addition to the lost diamond, I've broken 3 others. That means more than 1/3 of my diamonds are broken or lost. And, even though I had come to see her only 4 weeks prior -- per her 6-week clean/quality check policy-- she refused to pay for the repair. At that point, finally, I was done. I asked family members for recommendations, and went to another jeweler to ask for a second opinion. This is what I learned: The ring itself has a flawed design. The side diamonds in the halo had too little support and the prongs were too thin to secure the diamonds, which is why I kept losing them. The jeweler then looked at me and asked if I'd had any of those diamonds replaced. I told him I had, 4 had fallen out and been replaced in the past two years. I didn't even need to show him which ones were replaced, he pointed each out and told me that those 4 diamonds were smaller and of lesser quality than the others. Let me say that again--NOT ONLY DID MANYA DESIGN A FAULTY SETTING IN THE FIRST PLACE, SHE ALSO PROCEEDED TO REPLACE MY MOTHER'S HEIRLOOM DIAMONDS WITH SMALLER, LESSER-QUALITY STONES. The new diamonds did not fit the setting SHE built, and were turning black because so much dust was collecting underneath the over-sized holes. I am not leaving this review to tear this jeweler down-- I am extremely sad to have to say these words, because I thought I could trust Manya and her team. But I do NOT want anyone else to experience what I have. I URGE you- go elsewhere. The team at Manya didn't just disappoint me, they knowingly deceived me. I now have to pay hundreds of dollars to have my ring rebuilt correctly.I have to pay to restore the missing diamond and replace the other 3 diamonds with ones of better quality that fit properly. But, that isn't even the worst part. Besides the lost time and money, though both are substantial, I'm now missing several of my mother's diamonds from her engagement ring--those are irreplaceable and completely inexcusably lost due solely to this jeweler's negligence. Sadly, I know several others who have had similar experiences at Manya. One lost 2 diamonds from her ring in as many months. Another went in for a repair and found her center diamond spinning and jiggling the very next day. PLEASE, GO ELSEWHERE. Spend your money somewhere trustworthy. Don't take your precious jewelry or earnings to this business; it isn't worth the trouble or the loss. read more

I cannot recommend Manya Jewelers enough. I came here about a month ago with a family heirloom, a gold ring with four diamonds. It's small, delicate, and very important to me. I had to make sure I found someone that I trust to fix it up for me. I notice that most of the reviews are written by people who have only a few reviews. I wonder what that means? Sounds kinda fishy to me. I came into this shop to have a small pawprint charm engraved with my dog's name ( my dog passed away suddenly). I was asked if I minded "hand engraving" and I said No. When I went to pick it up, I was shocked at what I saw. It looked like a 2nd grader did it. So unproffesional. I said that I wasnt happy with it and at that point, a very rude woman started yelling at me that the the death of the owner's son was more important that my stupid charm. WTF? How was I supposed to know his son died and why was the store even open. More words were exchanged. She called me fat and told me to leave the store. It was really rude and shocking. I cant believe business owners conduct themselves like that. I will never step foot in this store again, even though they had a lot of cool and unique pieces.
